yes i have viseted the gate on many occasions, and thank you for keeping this up for the last 80 years, my family lost at least 6 brave great great uncles from both sides in ww1. respect to you all.
Ah, the Menen gate. I have a lot of family blood in Ypres (Ieper) as I explored during my Battlefield's trip with my school.
I remember standing solom with everyone as this incredible ritual took place, just as I remember why we all had goose bumps and water in our eyes. Thankyou so much for keeping this up daily, it does NOT go un-noticed, just as our brave soldiers sacrifice is well known too.
I also visited a German cemetery, and I thank you for its up keep too. Takes respect for that.
Respect and a Toast to all those who endeured Occupation and defeated it and to those brave, frightened men who parachuted, landed by glider and came by sea to occupied France... 65 years ago... All of them Gave Some and Some of Them Gave ALL... Thank you for the Freedom we enjoy today... We Will Remember You ALL...
@TrufflesRUs I'm sorry, and may be wrong, but this memorial ia about WW1, if you allready knew that, please ignore this comment... still: so true, man!
En dat we het godverdomme nooit vergeten wat daar gebeurd is.
