  • They are a reason that make me proud to be a german!

  • auwgg qe liinda qanciiOn chazz mii viida zOn lOz zcOrpiiOnz pff pff lOz amO lOz amO y en pOqas palabras lOz amO...!!! pff me hubiese gustadO haber nacidO en esOz tiiempOz auwgg...!!! aun asii lOz amO...

  • @abigail48alem EXACTLY!!! of course i can't read your language, but it sure looks impressive!

  • Scorpians are the best sounding live band I have ever seen, always just FANTASTIC!!!

  • Scorps owned that night ! Look at their live videos from 2010-2011...they stll have it !!! Best band in the world in my book !!

  • 3:30 MATHIAS JABS LOOKS LIKE AN ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER GUITAR HERO!

  • Awww awesome solo!!!

  • Jesus christ man...even given the shitty quality of the recording, this band sounds better live then 90% of today's groups...I don't care what genre. This guy fucking SINGS...he doesn't need auto-tune, he actually hits the notes. The guitar players don't screw up -- they play awesome solos. And this is coming from a dude in his 20's (me)...I wasn't even around for this shit when it was happening.

  • "MORE COWBELL!!! MORE COWBELL!!!" says The Bruce Dickinson

  • They rock!!! I adore them!!!

  • Люблю вас ребятааааааааа =)

  • MORE COW BELL !!!!!!!! =D

  • the greatest song in the world by the greatest band in the world =)

  • needs more cowbell!!

  • @both598 nothing wrong with cow bell. gives him something to do. you trying to ruin the song? You a van halen fan?

  • @ LetsPlayTheSeries im 20 and ya music these days does suck. Cant agree more.

  • FUCK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAA WOOO IM 13 AND LOVE THIS MY GENERATION BLOWS THIS IS WHAT MUSIC S

  • Hermann Rarebell proves he's a team player to 375,000 metal fans who couldn't care less. I would have told him to peel off the stickers or break down the kit. He owned the PA is all I can figure.

  • SCORPS rocked the US festival. every other band was 2nd rate.

  • @alkimst13 Um, no. Judas Priest was not second rate, they fuckin killed it.

  • @leoantonio I was there. Priest was good, and I didn't know Rob was queer then either. In my opinion (just my opinion) Scorps was the tightest band. When they came on, it was like a set of 250,000 dollar set of Wilson's were fired up, versus a set of pair of swap meet speakers. Priest was next in line for virtuosity, I will give them that. My bad. They weren't 2nd rate. Realms of Death, my FAV song PERIOD. Is there a better DUAL solo??? EVER???

  • @alkimst13 You talk shit, Van Halen was the best of the US Festival!

  • @TibetCorporation as i recall, the crowd was leaving in droves once it saw how drunk, stupid and disrespectful DLR was, nevermind that he can't sing a lick. he ruined it for VH plus a few hundred thousand people. the most disappointing performance i've ever seen by a headline band. PERIOD. Scorps showed what professional musicianship is all about. VH (specifically DLR) did not.

  • @alkimst13 Van Halen had more instrumental skill, don't you think?

  • @TibetCorporation i'll agree with you on that point. eddie and alex were the best of the best as far a musicianship went. DLR not only ruined it for the fans, but he also tarnished the performance of his band members. his stupidity and ego are probably why he didn't last with the band, but i'm no rock historian, so i'm just speculating.

  • @alkimst13 Well said about David, great style, but he ruined it, I agree.

  • Where Harry Gave 'Em Hell, Klaus Gave 'Em Cowbell!

  • i love this band, but i can't stand such poser drummers, who have two bass drums set up, and never ever use the other bass drum. at least never in a song, only really half assed and in the easiest way possible during a "solo", like this guy.

  • @IceCreamAllTheTime lighten up kid, the drum kit is like a prop besides being a set of tools so it just looks cooler. Do you think all those Marshall cabinets and amp heads Mattias and Rudy have are real? Welcome to the entertainment biz kiddo...

  • @bornburied it's fine to have extra amps, but to have double bass and not use it at all, not so much. the only function it actually has is to hold up an extra tom or two.

  • @IceCreamAllTheTime You don't make sense. You must be in your teens.

  • @bornburied i'm not a teen. anyway, i just don't really like this drummer anyway. played like a robot, extremely boring after taken by force.

  • @IceCreamAllTheTime No love for Herman Z German? I catch yer drift but it was the 80's and all about excess. : )

  • 16 People suck.

  • @Panzerottoneone

You are Absolutely Right, My Brother or Sister, Pending on your Gender....."Gabby!"

  • I was there I was 16 years old :D , and the jets flying by just at the moment the scorps took the stage kind of set the tone in my mind that the scorps were the real headliners.

that whole valley was nice and clear, but all the people killed the grass and turned the ground to dust which you can see filled the air which renamed the US festival to the dust festival.

Stayed up for three days drinking a lot of beer, and doing a lot of drugs.

Apple founders the Steves put on this event

  • @L4zy1

Actually, there were WW II era P-51 Fighters. I was there, too. But, "The Dust Festival??" I never heard that one. 2 points for you, & Yes, The Scorps Stole that show!

  • Have u ever seen a live performance of this band that sucked?

I haven't so tell me where is it at?

go download my grandmas porn vid at

Sh*t that title wud make a good song!

  • @darlamilf47 What...the...fuck....

  • the scorps are the best band ever , and they didnt give up ever they sucked in the 60s & 70s yes they really didnt make it till the earlly 80s but they were doing it way before then , they toured for over 40 years no other band has ever come close

  • @timothyjordan1114 not true... what about the rolling stones and ZZ Top and Van Halen or Judas Priest... i could go on. ;)

  • @timothyjordan1114 And you've forgot Queen , the best band !

  • @kolovsky08 nah scorps, maiden, def lep, and led zep, best bands ever

  • @Bigrobkerr judas priest ;)

  • Wow,what memories.I remember parking 20 miles away and the buses never came so we just all started walking. We carried groceries and of course ,consumables. We paid 5.00 per head to catch a ride in the back of pickups. When we finally made it to the gate, there it was,a giant holding pen for all the ice chests and grocery bags. After carrying that all the way we had to throw it away.At least we got to walk in with our Bacardi and coke in our plastic cups,Whooya!!!

  • @coltsuperocean10 lol your a fuckin dumbass. Stop givin bear a hard time cause of his opinion. You go on to a video and start talkin shit about it, no one is gonna back you up. I hope you learned you fuckin cock sucker.

  • @tictac4949 Thanks for backing me up. I did nothing to provoke this person initially.

  • wow i was 13 and my brother was there when he was 21 thats crazy

  • 16 dislikes? Obviously there are 16 crackheads on youtube. lol This is classic Scorpions!!

  • Some good bands were in thier infancy that day. some were seasoned and some were legends. 1 was even a train wreck waiting to happen. But the Scorpions were LOADED FOR Fk'n BEAR THAT DAY. Thew were unsurpassed.

  • the scorpions are pro's at playing live. have you ever heard a metal band sound better live than on their records?!

  • Texas Jam 198? yeah that good!

  • Guitarist has fuckin sick awesome stage presence.

  • i wish i could get back in time to visit this fantastic festival

  • I'm just happy the bands we knew and love in the 80's still tour. Motley Crue just came to Dallas a few weeks back. And it was an awesome show. Tommy Lee's roller coaster drum setup was awesome. I want to see the Scorps again. They sounded so tight every time I saw them in the 80's. Long live rock and roll.

  • I was also there !!!? maybe? no I was. It was 4 days of PARTY...-----YEEAAAAAA

    great people & excellant music

  • 80s audio and video aside, they sound incredible. Lucky you who were there! Damn!

  • 15 people got bit by a scorpion

  • @nuni121 you're not funny

  • Right on ! It's great to see another one of my contemporaries. I wish there was another US Festival like the one in 1983. US Festival > Coachella

  • i wasn't born at this time. but man look at the crowd at 00:29 !! are those yets opening the festival? damn!!

  • @twessels Jets did a flyby or flyover at the opening as the Scorps opened their set.

  • This was my 17th Birthday - my Sister was there, I wasn't. ;( She bought me a shirt that I wore out during my senior year in HS.

  • im 11 and i lovveeee this band and whole lot of other grunge(the Who,pink Floyd ect;)

  • Its there a DVD of the US festival 1983?

  • best band ever!!!!

  • the scorpions are pound for pound the best live band in heavy metal, Judas Priest is very close the best, but when I was 13 saw a poster for the US festival I thought about running away from home to go to this but with as a kid with no money forgetaboutit but the line up in 1983 was van halen, quiet riot, motley crue, ozzy, Judas Priest, Triumph, Scorpions, yea man, this is it at its peak and looks pretty good on you tube but would have been much better in person!!!

  • 300,000+ people..And,I swear, most of them were closer to the stage than I was..Oh..and it didnt matter..

  • I WAS not even born, hell crap !

  • I was there too, I was um, 18? It was awesome.

  • Damn it was hot!

  • jutstin bieber rocks

  • On the guitar... ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER!!!!

  • I WAS not THERE!

  • I WAS THERE TOO!!! and it was hot as hell I think the thermometer reached 110 degrees, I was 16.

  • No One Like You My Sweetheart, I Love You So... Te Amo Príncipe Esposo @Arthur938

  • *their (instead of there) silly mistake...

  • I don't like Scorpions! I believe that there so-called "great" songs, like Wind of Change or Still loving you, are really overrated! But 3:25-3:40 of this song are some of the best seconds of music I have ever listened to...

  • I WAS THERE !!!!!!!

  • Matthias jabs pauroso !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just been watching a few of the 83 Festival vids and damn I wish I was old enough to have seen concerts like this. I was about 5 years old when this concert took place.

  • MORE COWBELL!!!

  • One of my favourite songs from one of the best bands ever....the live experience was awesome. I saw them in about 1989 and will never forget how brilliant the gig was and how much of a high I was on afterwards ( Music indiced high that is!!)

  • this video better never get fucking deleted. its awesome AND historic.

actually, i might kill vevo if they delete this

  • best band ever!

  • WOW LOVE THIS SONG!

  • I wish i was there to see this concert and all the other great names that were out there that absolutly changed the word music. i wish i was earlier,i am ok with the new stuff like lady gaga but they are nothing campared to the names that will never be forgotten.GO BEATLES

  • @gottalovethesongs oh boy... beatles what? this is SCORPIONS and that beatles was way too far below ground zero tho i love to listen at least 2 or 3 of their song

  • @sidneywatts42

Many things were better in the 80's.

  • custa a acreditar que isto aconteceu no ano em que eu nasci....27 anos depois ainda faz sentido...fdx...eu tenho de ir dormir...ou a bem ou a mal:((

  • there is no one like u scorpions

  • I WAS THERE !

  • @Bearcatt

    B******* (that's a no funny joke =D)

  • @TheMaiden41

Yes I was there. I was 20 years old now I'm close to 48 years old. The US Festival was held at Glen Helen Regional Park near San Bernandino California in the dessert, a very hot day, US Festival HEAVY METAL SUNDAY 1983.

The performers: Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, Ozzy Ozborne, Judas Priest, Triumph, SCORPIANS and Van Halen.

It was and still is the best concert of my life ! I still live about a 3 hours drive from where the US Festival took place.

  • @Bearcatt

I was there too! What a wild show. This was the Woodstock of our generation. The Scorpions completely stole the show and blew VH away IMO.

  • @truedog1 ,

It's amazing to hear from someone on YouTube 28 years later, that also went to the US Festival. Seeing this video brings back some great memories. Yes that was the Woodstock of our generation and the best concert I've ever been too. We were lucky to have so many great bands back in those days.

  • @Bearcatt sooo jealous...

  • @MrJJModern LOL Sorry about that. Atleast you can still see it here !

  • @Bearcatt I'm so jealous! Really, i'm now 16 and a half, but how many times haven't I said' I wish I was born earlier' to see all those great bands! Scorpions, AC/DC and so many more! Must've been really nice!

  • @idontknowanname I can understand why you would be jealous. There is no doubt the late 70s to the late 80s produced some of the best, passionate, technical, guitar oriented music ever. I think 90s music was good, but not as good as the 80s. The early 2000s were ok with Chevelle, SOAD, Stained, AFI and more. I must say the late 2000s to now is producing the worst generation of music ever except for MUSE. Continued ...

  • @Bearcatt Yeah 90s are ok, but like you say, it doesn't beat 80s^^

  • @idontknowanname Let em say this. I am three times your age which is fine. You are young and have your whole life ahead of you. Make the best of your life, try to be happy and successful. Yes the time of my youth was simpler with great music. However life still was far from perfect, we had our trials and tribulations back then too. Things have changed alot since the 28 years this video was made. Some things for better or worse. Continued ...

  • @idontknowanname Some of the best changes are technowledgy. We didn't have the Internet, YouTube, Droids, I-phones , BlueRay, bigscreens TVs or Cirius radio back then. Without YouTube and the internet, no one would see this Scorpians video again. You can still have best of both worlds. You get to live with today's tech and you can still see most of the great 80s band today !

  • @Bearcatt Well if you put it that way, you're right!^^ I'm enjoying every single 80s video!

  • @Bearcatt

I was there too!!! I was 14 years old....it was my very first concert!!! And I agree, it was thee best concert of my life!!!! ROCK ON!!

  • Comment removed

  • @bigmommasmith ROCK ON!

  • @Bearcatt Dang! that must've been the concert of a life time!!! thats freaking awsome you saw them ALL live!

  • @xXMusicXIzXLifeXx Yes it was the best concert of a life time! Rock On!

  • @Bearcatt That lineup gave me high blood pressure. Thats not a metal concert. Thats a gathering of the Titans.

I hate to get all "my generation blows" right now, but come on, can anything REALLY compare to that concert you just described?

  • @flicfan416, Yes that was the ultimate event for sure. I have great memories and feelings of nostalgia watching this video and other videos from US Festival 83 Metal day. Back then I never imagined we would be watching and talking about this on the internet nearly 30 years later.

  • @Bearcatt ...its very good gay rock bands are promoted. Scorpions are Germanys greatest gay rock band

  • Comment removed

  • @Bearcatt ..you tell me? You seem to know a lot about it!! hahahaha, no, you just got owned!!

  • @coltsuperocean10 , This is all news to me. You're the one that brought it up to begin with, so I figured you were the expert.

  • @Bearcatt ...no afraid not, Im far too young for that, Its you old cunts that like a bit of the backdoor action apparently! You seem to be the expert! hahahahaha You tell me? You seem to keep going on about it??

  • @coltsuperocean10, I see you are real brave behind the keyboard. Go crawl back under the rock you came from and get a life you loser. I'm done responding to your imature post.

  • @Bearcatt ...hahahahahaha you have been owned! In future dont try to be the smart guy if you are a retard!! YOU go crawl behind your rock you loser piece of fucking shit!! Dont hassle me me for no reason you sad bastard, remember that you started this, you fuckin loser!! You are a sad retarded loser, so another goodbye to another fuckin dickhead! Hahahahaha

  • @Bearcatt you got that dead on man, its probably the best time I've ever had when i seen them at ledgend valley in ohio they played the last outdoor concert there, good times got sunburned really bad but damn it was worth every stinging sensation.

  • @l1onh34r7 It's great that you got to see the Scorpians in thier last outside venue, It's sort of like love at last sting.

  • @Bearcatt

Hey Bearcat! I am in your Corner, Too! You got my backing! Fuck that Hick & his Granny that can't function wiothout her Biscuits & Pot. I was @ that concert, too, & the WW II P-51's that Buzzed the Amphitheatre was Phoenominal! And if my Buddy, Axe, is out there, how are you, Bro?? "Gabby!"

  • @Gabby9292K1 Thanks Gabby, I appreciate the backup. I wish there could be another concert like this again !

  • @flicfan416 That was one of the best lineups ever and the best concert I've been too. And I've been to alot of concerts. There are other Monsters of Rock concerts, BIG one was in England , parts of Europe and Russia and well as the United States. There is no doubt that the US 1983 Metal Day concert was the ultimate.

I must be honest and say there is nothing that compares. It seems to be a real dry spell for good music.

Justin Bieber ? Lady Gaga ? I must be having nightmares.

  • @Bearcatt Don't get me started. People complained that the 80's were bad, some said that disco was the devil, but the new millenium has proven that Rock and Roll really can die

  • @flicfan416 Say it aint so, but you might be right about the new millenum proving that Rock and Roll can die.

Trying to look on positive side, about the only thing I like being produced today is from the band Muse.

  • @Bearcatt god bless iwas there too i am 43 now along time ago stiil remember it

  • @MrVANJR God bless you as well, you are still a youngster, lol, and remember ... There's no one like you.

  • @Bearcatt YOU're a lucky man i' was born fucking to late, it sucks ^^ SCORPIONS rules until the end of time =)

  • @Oospartan92oO Indeed I am lucky in many ways. However being born later means that you are young with your whole life ahead of you. Plus back then we didn't have all the great technology like we have today. =-)

  • @Bearcatt AHAH u're right ^^ But i would give my laptop, my smartphone and all those technologies to live this show, can't believe i miss it ^^, wathever we don't know what life keeps for us ^^. And u say that i still have life ahead of me, but when i look at this world, it seems there is nothing to hope or wait from it, u know like in the song "Humanity". But i'm not pessimistic, just homesick of a time i never lived. Thx for answered me ;)

  • @Oospartan92oO In all honesty I wouldn't trade those times and memories. We did have problems back then too. However I must admit the state of the world and future today does not look promising. I guess I was just trying to look at today's situation in a positive manner. Atleast we have YouTube to watch these great videos and communicate from anywhere in the world. Peace and God bless.

  • @Bearcatt I was there as well and I am almost 48! I was the one selling bootleg t-shirts that got confiscated by the US Police.

  • @cosmicpreachers2 Wow one of my contemporaries! That's cool that you were at the US festival too but I'm sorry the US police took your bootleg T-shirts. I use to buy bootleg and non bootleg T-shirts.

  • @Bearcatt I was 20 when I was there as well. What a day!!!

  • @Bearcatt Oh my god that is a sick lineup

  • @gklue Yes it was a day to remember !

  • @Bearcatt im jealous of the time u and the other ppl who grew up in the same time just cause of music from reading the post above that sounds like an awesome concert i wish i was there (im 1997)

  • @ninjakawasaki13 Wow you are so young. You can still see some of these bands and other bands eventhough they are old, they can still kick some a55. lol

  • @Bearcatt I WASN'T BORN AT THIS TIME! :D

  • @Bieroern At least you can see it here on YouTube. Plus you can talk with those who were there.

  • @Bearcatt Hell Yeah!

  • @Roxas4200 ROCK ON !

  • @Bearcatt were?

  • @Bearcatt where were you?
