  • Wow

  • Sublime! I dedicate this harp version of Clair de Lune to My Heavenly-Resplendent Wife (in Heaven since Nov. 21/22, 2010). MY BARBRA ROSE, this other-worldly-beautiful melody was (and remains) our favorite Classical composition. I played the version by The London Philharmonic (conducted by Bernard Herrmann) many times for us while you were with me in this life. I pray that you can hear this from your mansion and rose garden in Heaven. On Valentine's Day 2012 I tell the world I love you forever!

  • Weird, he looks like my dad...

  • Som lindo!! Sem palavras pra descrever!!!

  • Four dislikes... should be zero!!

  • A great performance!

  • One of the greatest pieces ever written, but on a harp?? Just beautiful!! :D

  • Magic ♫♥

  • So beautiful :) I will learn this piece if it kills me!! :)

  • MAGNIFIQUE ?!

  • best Debussy piece

  • I wish I could here this live :)

  • beautiful.

  • JUST BEAUTIFUL, SO WELL PLAYED.

  • @sdjkfhklfhvkjvhwdkv -it's idiotic comments like yours that ruin free speech!

  • ur mama is an idiot! not me

  • fuck.. dis shit is crazy

    thumbs up!!!

  • Wish it was louder but that was amazing. Wow.

  • fantastic... but its been down loaded too quiet i can just about hear it .

  • Aaaaaaaaaaaah MERCI !!!!!!!!! je l'ai enfin trouvé !!

Thankyouthankyouthankyou !! One of the best (if not the best) harp players of the decade.

  • Beautiful

  • Seriously, stop taking care of mistakes, he is an amazing musician and that's all what matters. We musicians are afraid/feared of doing mistakes because of such a behaviour. He is the proof someone can do the most impressive music while doing some few mistakes (which are nothing).

  • This is the best interpretation of Clair de Lune I've heard on the harp.

  • I love how right at the end of the piece, someone sneezes.

  • I think that is one of the most beautiful performances of Clair de Lune I have ever heard. And just beautiful technique! I tell all of my students to watch your videos for inspiration!

  • invidio chiunque suoni l'arpa, la possa toccare... che emozione, da anni ormai mi manca...

  • Magnifique interprète !

Très fidèle à la poésie et sensibilité de Debussy.

    Éthérée...

  • entail hurdeir fiujueee lodaswot sakni s my d all night

  • c'est magique!on a limpression qu'il la berce!

  • I can't beleive how hard this piece must be on the harp. His feet must be stompin like crazy on those pedals. You do notice some notes edited away in the transcribation but hardly noticeable and wonderful performance!

  • unfairplay you're right ^^

  • Beautiful! I play harmonica with your video :)

  • imagine how many chicks you can get with that...

  • magnifico

  • beautiful(:

  • the visual beauty of someone playing this instrument is just overwhelming.

  • It's so difficult to care about anything whilst listening to this! And if i fail my A levels, I can just listen to this and everything will be fine!

  • @danieledwardscarrots I feel the same but with "la fille au cheveu de lin" by Debussy

  • Hmm, very interesting to hear, considering the original piano arrangement is generally played "quasi arpa". Very ethereal, but lacks the resonance of the piano.

  • What is a piano but a harp on its side struck with felt hammers?

The harp is very resonant and due to direct manual sound generation, has a wider dynamic.

  • very true

  • Ca musique est tres jolie. Il est tres beau, et je l'adore. Il me fait craquer.

  • Very Beautifull

but didn't he miss one note or something at 3:10-3:11, sounds strange for me, I'm wrong?

  • *am I wrong?*

  • No, you're not wrong...

  • no, look at his smile at 4:24; that's the trade-off for playing famous pieces live, everyone knows when u make an error.

  • where did he make an error?

  • No, he's just french.

  • @thatmoviechick4 Is he? Nowhwere does it say what nationality he is or where he was born. Not even on the official website! I wonder why his early (and even present) life is such a mystery. Any details?

  • @thatmoviechick4 Especially since he seems to speak German and French with equal ease but can barely speak English?

  • @bozomal I don't think he made a mistake. There are notes missing in the transcription to make it possible to play.. not many though. This is amazing.

  • harp version of Claire de Lune is toucher than piano version i think..

  • i think it sounds better with piano, but i like it on harp, too, hopefully i will play soon :)

  • you're right, the harp is not a chromatic instrument, it's hard to solo a piece like claire de lune

  • Actually, the modern pedal harp IS a fully chromatic instrument, but the accidentals have to play accomplished by shifting 7 foot pedals around, so it really is more difficult to play highly chromatic music on the pedal harp.

  • beautiful

  • Beautiful! You are an exceptional harpist,

and I might add, one of the best harpist in the world, but that's my opinion.

  • ♥

  • waoow :) he is my angel! marry with me :P but I am man as well hehe..

  • I play harp too, and I want to learn Claire de Lune. *___*

  • Sometimes the perfection is so beautyfull.

  • this is how the angels sound when they're talking.

try to figure out how they sound when they're playing music.

  • This is such a treat

  • my favorite piece just perfectly played

  • Like a angel.

  • he has recorded this piece on his new CD released by Sony BMG and dedicated to Debussy! (nuit d'etoiles).

  • Does anyone know who he studied with? Is he of the French School or Salzedo? His interpretations and hand movements are just so perfect!

  • left me speechless. thank you.

  • omg i no this song mii friend is playin this 2nite nd im playin wif him on violin

  • I, too, am a harpist and I think he is just amazing....both his interpretations and showmanship. Wish I could meet him!

  • Where do you live?

He made a new CD this month! I think the releas date was on march 10th!

  • Hi. I live in Nevada, USA. I will look for his CD...thanks for the information.

  • He is such a great artist! I play harp too and i met him! He is soo nice and friendly! He plays with all his heart!

  • Hi. The more I watch of his playing the more inspirational. I had instructors in the French Method as well as Salzedo...I would say he is of the French School. My former teacher, a strict Salzedo...thought he was too much of a showman, but I truly believe he is playing and deeply feeling the music and that is why he plays so wonderfully. I decided I don't like "stiff" looking harpists. They look robotic. What do you think?

  • yeah! I was in some concerts and in my class some of the students play a little bit unglamorous! I think the feelings are better than a perfect technique! But of course he has a very good technique!

  • I agree with you completely....would people rather look at a "robot" playing each note techniquelly perfectly ALL the time or someone who you can see has filled up his whole body and soul with the music. This is not to say he is making mistakes...he isn't, but I have seen too many harpists who are so into holding your arms up and hold your elbows a certain way, etc., etc., that it takes all the joy out of playing.

  • Just amazing! Thanks.

  • Marvelous.TY

  • A great affinity for this awesome piece of music. Even Debuussy would have been proud! Bravo!

  • Wow! What a beautiful video this is. I just love the sound of the harp. It is so soothing and relaxing to the mind, body and soul. This wonderfull piece is one of my favorites in the world. I'm very pleased to have found a fellow youtuber who enjoys lovely classics such as Debussy, Bach and many others. Many thanks to you my friend. :)

  • I love this/his music!!! I play harp too!
