Great great job guys..Not sayin anything negative but you dont have to play blazin fst to be good!..Slow"er down just a tab and let the medoldy come out.Trust me.
by ear is great, but not everyone is lucky enough to be able to do it. Real notes and by ear is a great way to learn tunes fast, best of both worlds, I have played by ear since I was about 8 y/o and only learnt notation 10 years ago at 40, 30 years too late!Boy!have I learnt some tunes in the last ten years!
Well, I really believe that everyone has enough musical memory to learn to play by ear...before music was written down, everyone did play by ear... That's how i see it anyway.
This is very nice, Banjer. Could you point me in the direction of some good tab for the forked deer, or at the least the tuning might get me started. Simon
Some good stuff Banjer. I love the old fiddle tunes. I may put Whiskey For Breakfast or St. Annes Reel on before long, in the three finger style though.
great job banjer!!you are awesome! truly tastseful melodic clawhammer playing.i do a 3 finger version of it based on norman blakes guitar break.maybe ill put on video for you to check out.

This great tune is in tab in the Fakebook series of books. the guitar edition is tab, the fiddle one is dots.
Don't be put off by the crappy cover, its a great book by David Brody, worth buying
