  • MY VINYL EDITED THIS PART OFF "the other side of midnight"5:50 you can hear how quiet the audience became for a moment. this radio thing was nick masons party piece. my vinyl of this show edits this part off...

  • Roger is singing lead on this one, right?

  • @kristerkr Yeah. On the record it's Roy Harper though.

  • ive been listening to pink floyd since i was 3 years old. my mom is a huge fan of pink floyd and went to live concerts in her youth. im 25 years old now and i love thier work even more!! thier studio work is good! but thier live work is even better!!! Rock ON!!!!

  • Snowy white on Les Paul here....

  • is that Roger with a Les Paul? Wow that's rare..

  • @ChainWasp is Snowy White (Ex Thin Lizzy)

  • @fgnecco92 Holy crap! I've only seen Snowy older and not so young. Thanks mate :)

  • @ChainWasp dumbass

  • :-))))

  • This was the first Pink Floyd CD I have ever listen too. I was 13 years old. Still believe this is the best live performance. And, yes... Since than, Pink Floyd is my favorite band. 27 years old :)

  • I seriously don`t get why people keep saying this is bad. This amazing! Like if you agree

  • I have this bootleg ( Welcome to the Machine, I think its called) On mine there is no intro guitar solo. so-so Shine On ( all parts) are killer !!

  • Yep. I knew the 'crappy" solo would be controversial

  • @tjrtherocksponge

    Exactly!!!

I began to listen and it hit me; "This isn't David or Loopy." then I read your comment.

I'm going to look for another version.

  • I was 16 n my brother was 18 when we drove in from long island to see this show on 7/4/77, holy shit, it blew my fuckin mind!!!! i had just seen zeppelin on 6/7/77 here at the garden, what a magic fuckin summer of my young life, and its effected me to this day, it has definitely shaped my love for both bands, i consider myself extremely lucky to have been to both shows a month apart, next was tull!!!!

  • @jroxx11211 you lucky fuck

  • @1ZosoLZ Yes indeed bro, lucky to be in the right place at the right time, ROCK ON!!!!

  • You'd have to be on crack to think the first solo was David Gilmour... Sounds absolutely nothing like David Gilmour.

  • What en EPIC solo at 4:24 !!

    My gosh!

  • Heavy guitars :-)

  • born n 81 77 must have been a great year 2 have been alive!

  • Wow, really "Animals"-style Cigar

  • what is it about .. this having a cigar?

  • @vuotopiuscuro its about a record producer who metaphorically offers a band member a cigar because the producer wants to congratulate the band for signing a big money contract. the producer then asks "oh by the way which one is pink?" nobody in the bands name is pink so he obviously doesn't give a shit about the band or their music the song is symbolic of how big record companies are just in it for the money.

  • @sledog26

wow. thank U. this is a real piece of picture

  • i don't care how many doobs i smoked before this show, the intro was shite and the rest of the song wasn't so impressive either. but who was i to judge? i mean, after all, did i drag my none talented bones across no. america to disappoint my fans? no. pf was trying to make a living, after all. so, i went home and wondered why i paid for a ticket... and then put on the studio version and i was a happy floyd fan then again

  • @ultrakool STFU idiot!

  • should not have been posted - terrible

  • I love Snowy White - but he sure does dump all over the Intro to this, I grew up with the Ft. Worth, Texas bootleg, don't think he does it on that..

  • @JeffBend Not Snowy on the intro solo, some overdub hack as mentioned, notice the difference in tone between solo and the fill right before the verse.

That said, the solo at the end is Snowy and is def not a Gilmour solo...

  • wtf is this lmao .someone just threw a crappy solo over the intro.

  • you mean ,have a blunt, you will go far...

  • where do i get an mp3 of this great performance?

  • while david gilmore plays (or is it snowy white) snowy white solos, bouncing riffs off of one another or is it vice versa???

  • i miss Roy harpers voice. and the solo at the intro was not David Jon Gilmour's. it was snowey white. my dad was there

  • i could immediately tell the difference between a real guitarist like gilmour and crap

  • @SaypheZonE awful intro.clearly not by gilmour

  • fucking good live.

  • 164 cervejas e 19 balas!!!

  • this is not floyd this sucks and thats most def not gilmour

  • 0:33 snowy white

oh when they do the intro to WISH YOU WERE HERE (which is at the end of this) it was nick masons party piece, he would geta transistor radio, mic it, and random dial the channels, what he picked up here is an advertisement for a 1977 movie "The Other Side Of Midnight", which I got on DVD because of this.

  • oakland they laughed during the song

  • i like roger singing this song.

  • this is diiiiiirrrrrrttttyyyyy - I LOVE IT

  • This may not have sounded that bad live, but this recording is terrible!

  • @styx49 Like you said, in "In The Flesh Tour 77' (the Animals tour) Snowy White was the second guitar player.

He played the solos in Have a Cigar during the whole tour.

Plus played Bass in Sheep, PIgs (Three Different Ones), Welcome To The Machine. Played the base and the twin solo in Dogs. Also played 12 string acoustic guitar in Wish You Were Here.

And by the way, i think that terrible solo in the begginig don't exist. I have two recordings of these concert and there's no solo in this intro.

  • @MrCptDomingues true, it's a fake solo you're right.

  • @MrCptDomingues can you post this recording without that fucking shit solo?

  • ...the only time gilmour used a les paul. looks nice on him.

  • @buddy39914 dumbass thats not gilmour and another brick in the wall was played on a les paul

  • @Mackle89 lol nvm, i thought i read somewhere that he toured once with a goldtop les paul

  • @buddy39914 that's not gilmour, it's snowy white. he infamously played a goldtop les paul. still does. and gilmour has used les pauls occasionally here and there over his career, most notably on another brick in the wall's guitar solo (plugged straight into the recording console...no amp...just the guitar's natural sound.) who ever called you a dumbass, is ignorant, and i'm sorry. DG uses a Les Paul on On an Island on This Heaven maybe? One of the cuts on there, and on stage to this day.

  • @countvonjustin oh.. thanks

  • @buddy39914 fail.

  • @buddy39914 hardly! most of the wall was recorded on that thing!

  • @buddy39914 , that's not Gilmour, it's Snowy White.

  • We heard about the sell-out!!! DSOTM YEAH you are right baby Fly High

  • Ha ha you guys are so funny and unpolite at the same time !

Maybe you probably should be able to respect people who ALREADY like this wonderful music without to expect to know everything what is around here and there.

So please calm down, before I do call YOU an idiot as well.

But sorry if Im too polite for you and dont like to use the typical american f..k word and so on ..

So enjoy this music and talk and share well here.

In around 20 years we will speak again about people's knowledge...

  • I don´t know why, but I bet this is not Pink floyd meaby, a crappy tribute band or something.

  • @macizo25 i think you just insulted Pink Floyd. They were probably just high while playing this

  • 160 persons have smoked something bad.

  • people who don't know shit about classic music shouldn't contribute their opinions.

  • I don't get it. Did Roy Harper follow them around or something just to sing this song?

  • @procrastinator300

he sang it live with them only twice.

    once live and once studio

  • This song talks about Syd Barret

  • @RockOfGreece no, its about how record companies take control of bands and sweet talk them and stuuf, and how they dont even care about the music, just the money

  • @MrGlowingGuy I read the RockOfGreece guy's comment and told him "I thought it was like a record executive talking to them, and he doesn't even know shit about music" and then I read your comment and I thought, "cool, i actually interpreted it right"

  • @RockOfGreece I thought it was like a record executive talking to them, and he doesn't even know shit about music

  • Would you disagree with me if i told you all this is Roy Harper singing... =)

  • You guys saying Snowy White don't even know that it's not Waters nor Gilmour singing on the studio version of this track...... idiots.

  • gilmour had a tendancy to write tracks with overlapping guitar sessions for studio recordings. Snowy was there live to fill in these, impossible to solo, extra sessions. plz stop being lame children. unlike todays music, it doesnt matter WHO's doing what. all that matters to Floyd is sheer audio perfection. which they achieved. just enjoy the vid

  • Vous ne connaissez pas Snowy White ( ex THIN LIZZY) HONTE A VOUS !!!!

  • Here is some quiz for all you fans. Who was the original singer of this song on the recorded studio album? It wasn't anyone from Floyd

  • @crotchcritter1

    Roy Harper

don't ever question me about the Floyd

  • @crotchcritter1 O_o i thought it was roger, though it did seem a bit out of his ordinary collection of styles... i must knowww. who?

  • @crotchcritter1 roy harper

    folk singer right?

  • Is one of the best endings ever.

  • If you don't know who is Snowy White, You aren't Pink Floyd fan!

  • best version

  • i think all of you fucks need to take a Quaalude and listen to the music.

  • Snowy was good but he will never be a Sir david

  • @rockethtown since when is david sir?

  • it would have been the greatest if all five floyd members were all still around and went on a world tour playing the early syd stuff till the division bell. ohhh and syd was psychologically stable also but that would be asking to much from god just like wishing that john lennon was still alive

  • The more Roger the better

  • where can i get bootlegs of pink floyd in the 70s?

  • Oh wow, so original, did you think that up all by yourself, you deserve a cookie, good job!!!!

  • @turbovanman :wow! you really are stuck in an infantile mindset, huh? Lol!

  • @hazor777

Wow, again, your so original, get help with that comeback?

  • @turbovanman : it really takes no effort to insult you, believe me......

  • @psychodelicrock12 he should have sung just about every song, except rogers parts in comfortably numb because his voice adds to the creepy effect

  • If you look at Snowy White's wiki page, it mentions that he did the solos on this and "Shine On... VIII". I suspected as much; it does not sound like Dave at all. It does however kick major ass.

  • David gilmour should have sung this song.

  • I can't believe that some of you can't recognize David's voice in this track, so so sad ... :(

  • Great David, great Snowy White!!!

  • twat

  • roy harper sang the original. roger live. I like both. roger's voice is haunting!

  • this sucks ass

  • @hazor777

    You suck ass!

  • @turbovanman :I was referring to the experience I had fucking your MOTHER!

  • @turbovanman : Are so much of a L*O*S*E*R that you get off on videos of infants breastfeeding???? You are P*A*T*H*E*T*I*C!! PEOPLE: THIS DOCHEBAG APPARENTLY THINKS FAVORITING VIDEOS OF BABIES BREASTFEEDING IS "NORMAL"!!

  • Comment removed

  • @FloydfanMega : oh yea......I forgot you run this thread, huh?......(dickhead)

  • Totally fake. There ain't no way that opening solo is anyone from Pink Floyd. And then the voice are you joking?

  • @paxilsucks1 sounds unmistakably like roger. what are you talking about?

  • waters without gilmour is nothing

  • Roger Waters is Pink Floyd.

  • OPA! NADA DE FLOYD! FAKE DESGRAÇADO DE RUIM! NEM NO AUGE DA LOMBRA ELES FARIAM ALGO ASSIM!

  • For some reason I will never understand, Gilmour gave the "Cigar" solos to Snowy White during this 1977 tour. And Snowy White did a great great job, no mistake about it; the solos are beautiful, but C'MON!!!!!! If David is standing there with a guitar in his hands... well, you sort of want to listen to David!!

  • @IsisTiamat Try to understand this: When you play guitar the way Gilmour plays it (with a lot of bends. And some pretty sick bends sometimes) you cannot play for 2 hours straight, so he has to take brakes, and that's where snowy white comes in.

  • @MarcBeckK David plays all guitar sections during studio recordings but in concerts there must be 2 maybe 3 guitar players

  • @ristoatanasovski I know, but what I said still applies. Gilmour require breaks sometimes.

  • No Pink Floyd. NEVER!

  • arent they supposed to laugh?

  • @TEMPmichaelhansen that was in the oakland concert, also posted by pinkpigsheep1977.

  • Why is there a picture of Snowy White up on this post?

  • Just because it doesnt sound like stareo, doesnt mean its not good. Thats the whole point of live, diversity.

  • How did you get this bootleg to sound so good?

Or as it always that way?

  • @roydagger this videos dubbed.. listen to the intro lmaoo its not even normally there and wheres the laugh.. ?

  • @smGzscottoh1

the laugh is at the show at oakland

  • Counterespionage!!

  • snowy withe is like a 2nd guitar

  • the first 2 secs you know it aint floyd, too make things really sad is they a sucky cover band

  • As much as I loved Pink Floyd to hear Roger Waters' voice in a live setting is painful and he just cannot hit certain notes within really straining. I like eccentric and unusual vocals but Roger Waters is a terrible singer live.

  • You idiots, Snowy White was Pink Floyd's touring guitarist. Gilmour is ALSO playing on this track. Can't you hear there are 2 guitars!?

Snowy White was with PF up to the The Wall tour, and he's been in Roger Waters' band ever since.

Before bitching, you should know what you're talking about.

  • @styx49 Snowy White is an amazing guitar player! No doubt!

  • @styx49 TRUE!!! I think they are new listeners :)

  • @styx49 he still plays the same guitar 30 years later

  • @styx49 I agree

  • @styx49 Dude I am probably one of the bigest pink floyd fan ever....and i can assure you that Gilmour isn't here...and if you can't recognize his sound you need to buy a new couple of ears....

  • @snk07

Sorry to disapoint you, but it truely is Gilmour playing on that track. Back in the days it was virtually impossible to replicate exactly the album sounds on stage, including that deep phasing sound heard on the album track.

My ears don't need to be replaced and can tell you that the lead is here played by Snowy White, while the riff is provided by gilmour's strat (bridge pickup) and a Colorsound Powerboost pedal.

Plus listen to the backing vocals at 1.57. Definitely Gilmour's voice.

  • @styx49 yup, besides i only heard one story of him not, last song this tour montreal i think, blues instrumental,he's on here

  • @styx49 it's a gibson les paul gold top the one played by Snowy White (starting solo) and a Telecaster the one played by David (tipical telecaster "twang")

anyhow dispite the guitars played and the one's who playin'" Have a cigar" remains a great song....

  • @snk07 You cannot assure anything, Gilmour is there, Gilmour played in every In The Flesh Tour 77'. If you don't believe it, OK, but don't say something like this. 77'Tour band was: David Gilmour - lead guitar, vocals Roger Waters - bass guitar, rhythm guitar, vocals Richard Wright - keyboards Nick Mason - drums with the additional musicians: Snowy White - guitar, bass guitar on "Sheeps", "Pigs (Three Different Ones)", and "Welcome to the Machine" Dick Parry - saxophone
  • @snk07 wrong

  • @snk07

Gilmour is here... He sings backing vocals, Roger sings lead vocals... Snowy White played solos...

  • Comment removed

  • what a playlist :)

  • this is real i have the album

  • 0:01

  • i think one of the best version live of "have a cigar"'77 great intro....great ending solo...snowy white is a great guitarist...but i love the studio version with ron harper..this song is in my favorite top 5 of pf of all time..

  • WEre forgettin who wrote all the hits after Syd...Roger Waters...Gilmoure joined in at the launch of the "gravy train", but much love to him too. Lets not dis Waters though..n my opinion he is Pink Floyd

  • they fuck up hard at around 1:20

  • venderan ese concierto en dvd?

  • I have to agree. Gilmour does it 1000 times better. The solo in the beginning is bad and the riff is altered. Don't like. :<

  • That guitar solo at the beginning is horrible...

  • Were is Gilmour??????????? This guitar is bad

  • @borbottante theres 2 guitars :p

  • fantastic sound ! massive!

  • this is so fucking awsome

  • @ianal2

How lucky is that to have seen this concert in 77' lord I want a Time Machine

  • i liked it better with roy i dont know why, dont hate

  • Snowhat??? No Gilmour No Pink Floyd...!

  • @snk07

    no gilmour no pink floyd

    no waters no pink floyd

    no wright no pink floyd

    no mason no pink flod

but snowy white is just excellent.....

  • @salto33

the critics also said no syd no pink floyd

  • @snk07 No WATERS no Pink Floyd!!!! Besides, check out the crew at this tour!!!! LOL!

  • Comment removed

  • @FloydfanMega You should STFO, if you don't know to read, damn you and your ugly manners... I've MY opinion and nobody and let alone a complete stranger with ill ways will force me to think like they do... you don't know how to respect or express and idea? Then go to learn how before answering somebody!!!

  • @snk07 Idiot.

  • what a great boot, so refreshing. Snowy is awesome.

  • This has to be one of the best sounding Floyd '77 boots I've ever heard.
