If you're referring to Ebisumaru, Ebisu is one of the 7 lucky gods of Shintoism. He is also based off of Nakamura Jirokichi, nicknamed Nezumi Kozo (mouse boy). Which is why he looks like a stereotypical japanese thief. Ebisumaru is also known for being very lucky... and lazy... and fat.
