Also, I don't get why a low end gpu like this requires a 400watt psu when my older geforce 8400gs consumed more power and required only 300watt.

@rumvodkaf1 Cool. I'm going to get the xfx version. That kinda sucks having the lower memory speed. But the cards do not really require such a large power supply, that's just manufacture recommendation to ensure that everything in the computer works without blowing the psu. They consume under 100 watts I'm fairly sure with normal use.

For example, I only have 2 USB devices aside from my mouse and keyboard, only one HDD, one Core2Duo processor, 2 sticks of DDR2 RAM and my video card and I have plenty of power left. The HD 5450 was designed so that it consumes only 20w in load and 7 o 8w when Idle.

I just got my HD5450 1GB Memory at microcenter for only $40 ($20 mail in rebate) i also saw that the HD5450 512MB of memory was $5 more over the 1GB... they were both the same brand, I dont understand why a model that has less memory will cost more. they were both XFX by the way and the 512MB...and the low profile brackets are for low profile computers wich i am currently using it cause my dell pc is small and this is probably one of the best vdeio card i can buy for my pc that is not a 8400GS

@mikapuchaypuchoy Maybe everything on low. The rest of the system is fine, but the 5450 isnt made for gaming. If you want to buy a decent budget game pc, go with AMD. They make good budget cpu's. Take the MSI 785GM-E51 motherboard with the AMD Athlon II X3 445. With this you'll save around €60 on the motherboard+cpu without noticing any performance drop in games. Then use this money for a better, more expensive gpu, like the nVidia GTS 450 or the ATi Radeon 5770. Way, way better for gaming.

@mikapuchaypuchoy You can game on this card, but dont expect high settings and great performance. This is more a card for home theator pc's.

Game performance uses alot of graphic perfomance and less cpu power. The i3 is quite powerfull and you dont use this power if you got a low gpu, like this one.

AMD is fine actually, they are really good in the budget segment, Athlons are very nice offering good performance for low prices. Plus ATI Radeon is owned by AMD and the 6000 is called AMD Radeon.

GT 220 is much faster in games then the Ati 5450. Even though the GT 220 has no DirectX, i would go with the GT 220.

GT 240 is about 50% faster then the GT 220.

I got this GPU and other components and i was told that my power supply wont be enough if i would want to buy more things after i buy the GPU so i upgraded from 300W to 450 or 500 W (dont remember exactly and too lazy to open case)

Anyway just get 500W, its a good thing i upgraded the power supply beacuse i just upgraded RAM, and in next year or so ill upgrade CPU.

@Hiddenmyst1 Yes you can buy a 400W PSU now, BUT if you will want to upgrade RAM/CPU in the future, i suggest you buy 450W (what i got now) since i think 400 wont be enough. im not specialist and i dont really know how much a GPU can consume and how much each component can/is. im just answering from what i was told. 300W is very old and is usually for non-gaming PCs, if u want something killer, get 500W, if you will have any money left for a beast GPU & RAM :)

Get the nvidia Geforce 9800gt if you want to save money and still get a high powered card, and yes the gt plays Crysis very well just make sure you have a 600 watt power supply.
