  • bruce lee!

  • One of the only things that pisses me off about this show is that I cannot find out what martial art Spike uses. Yeah, there a lot of Bruce Lee references, and yeah it SAYS it's Jeet Kune Do, but the creators were probably just Bruce Lee fanboys because Spike typically uses kicks and techniques that Bruce would've never used in a real fight. Spike's moves are too flashy, and are more closely akin to some mix of Savate, and Hapkido, not Jeet Kune Do.

  • @1iguerra I study in Jeet Kune Do and it is a martial art of many, Bruce combined a lot of different art's into one. Most of his kick aren't ''Flashy'' most are leading side kicks and hook kicks which are basic kicks. Spike does jeet kune do. All of those kicks and techniques Bruce Lee would so in real fight. Read '"Tao Of Jeet Kune Do'' btw so you'll understand more.

  • @RyuuRykoiu Not to be disrespectful in any way, but iv'e read through the book twice and yes, i do own it, as well as others. Bruce is brilliant no doubt. Iv'e also seen countless interviews with bruce and Inosanto, who specifically states that in all the real street confrontations that he saw Bruce deal with, all he did was block, stop the foot, and head but, then it was over after that. I'm aware it incorporates everything based on need, but you rarely need to use fancy techniques, if at all.

  • @1iguerra I understand what you are talking about. But most of the basic kick aren't flashy but the high version of the kicks. Like an kick lead side kick, I just use the med to low version as does spike. But you are correct.

  • @1iguerra Do in a real fight*

  • this anime has the best voice acting ive seen in ages

  • @TheNeoxide i heard that the producers actually prefer the english dub

  • an adaptation of one of Bruce Lee's philosophies. i'm pretty sure it's from The Game Of Death

  • Aikido!!!

  • ¡how to be water is the DVD for you!

  • Ow Man that was what Bruce Lee said the master

  • sup hater! watchu know about Spike kune do son!!? XD

  • This scene exemplifies how beautiful and emotional this episode is.

  • Fans know Spike studies Jeet-kun-do, Bruce Lee stuff. Good stuff man!

  • Spike-wondo.

  • spike would be a great martial arts teacher. i'd take classes from him.

  • Zajebiste te afro xDD

  • So this is spikes philosophy

  • Real Shit...

  • memorable episode, really touching

  • dont argue over what it is or isnt it wont help you

  • I have a friend who hates this show, every time i express my love for it he instantly says he disliked it and found no enjoyment. I want to kill him every, single, time.

  • @WarBob56565 slit his throat and leave him to drown in a ditch

  • Homage to the Great Bruce Lee my favorite episode of the whole series.

  • this episode made me cry

  • Spike would make a perfect tutor:)

  • It is a direct tribute to Bruce. Watch the "final" episode.

  • Is actually a wing-tsun concept which some hand movements in Jeet Kune Do are a derivative from wing-tsun. Bruce Lee studied Wing-Tsun before he created Jeet Kune Do and that's where he got his "like-water" concept from. But in this video I can see why one would think it's Aikido.

  • This is not aikido or anything else, this is jeet kune do (the way of the intercepting fist). Be like water is a saying from Bruce Lee!

  • I think this is a reference to Bruce Lee

  • more like tai chi

  • Bruce Lee approves of this message!!!

  • The quality is oddly better. Any particular reason for this?

  • AIKIDO

  • I'm learning what my piano teachers meant through Spike...I like it.

  • I'm learning what my piano teachers meant through Spike...I like it.

  • Jeet Kun do don't work boys!

  • @DarkTempIarKain Been working fine for me the last 6 years little boy.

  • @CommandAndCommentary LoL you either lie or don't know shit. Go look up Tony Valente, he's like water and a master of JKD. Go watch him get murdered :)

Steven Sega also uses a similar style and he was choked out by Gene lebell and pissed and shit himself. HAHAHA

  • @DarkTempIarKain One person doesn't reflect an entire style. It's not about strength or power. Simply balance. You're clearly a little man who only views the shallow end of martial arts. The cliche "alpha macho man" which is two men just beating on each other. You've clearly never been in a dojo and harmonized your stances with fellow students or learn respect from a sensei. You just watch people fight and assuem you're an expert.

  • @CommandAndCommentary Try to actually learn about fighting before making up BS son.

  • DarkTempIarKain I have been practicing for six years. I honestly have no reason to fight, but it has been working for me, I've won some matches, I've lost some. Everyone has, so going by who won what and how many matches is not a sure why to say which style is better. It's not so much about the style but the person. I can say if we knew each other personally I would spare with you. Simply as a sport and out of respect. Assuming you practice anything besides sitting at your computer bad mouthing.

  • @CommandAndCommentary You have no real evidence. I can tell you I have a 50-0 record and you wouldn't believe me. So I don'nt believe you. JKD really is not even a martial art. It's a philosophy. What Inosanto and other JKD instructors did was try to claim they KNEW it and make a market off of it. Similar to Keysi after Batman Begins and the dark knight came out, using the marketing slogan "STYLE OF BATMAN". In Jkd's case, "STYLE OF BRUCE LEE". I'm not Bad mouthing, I'm speaking a fact.

  • @CommandAndCommentary Now as for your ignorant ass, I assume you didn't even look up Tony Valente, who's a master in JKD. Type his name in the youtube search and watch his fights. Yep, real good that did him huh? I bet that's probably a good example of your "matches". LOL

  • @DarkTempIarKain yeah Tony is a joke :( But martial arts is about respect. That's what i take from it. To train have fun and be strong. I think all types of martial arts have something we can take out of it and use. They are all strong and special in some way. If only Bruce Lee was still around to show us the true effectiveness of JKD and his style. Well just my thoughts. have a good day my friend.

  • @FlamesKnightX12488 There's nothing wrong with training in a martial art for cultural reasons, exercise, fun or recreation. But not all of them work. It's like food. You can eat food for fun, or for other reasons, but not all of it is good for you. JKD is literally a non working martial art due to several reasons. It was never finished and thus "students" like inosanto created their own variant of it to teach, thus you get Tony Valente

  • @DarkTempIarKain true i suppose its always good to see other peoples perspective. Thanks.

  • @DarkTempIarKain Tony Valente is a joke,look 4 Tommy Carruthers...

  • @tintanboy10 Tommy is quick and athletic. Nothing those 10 year old olympian acrobats aren't.

All of his videos are demos, he's never fought in MMA, nor would he, otherwise he would look like Tony.

  • See you space cowgirl, and dog :P

  • "Be water, my friend..." -- Bruce Lee

  • i feel so sad for Roco and his sister :(

  • "whatever happens, happens"

  • Nice quality. :)

  • jeet kun do 101 XD

  • @StopPokinMeh Doesn't work

  • @StopPokinMeh bullshit, aikido!

  • @hendrikmarine No its jeet kun do Bruce Lee taught it look up some of the vids and its exactly what he taught.

  • @LinkHimora I know :3 but its not jet kun do… its not aikido either, its just the principle

  • "Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend." ~ Bruce Lee

  • This quality is so good! Is this from the CB Remix dvd's?

  • Spike is the greatest.

  • This is the one!
