the piper in the back is Anxo Lorenzo, from Moaña, in Galicia, my land. the band plays a medley that starts with a famous galician alborada called "Aires de Pontevedra" and asturian's "Muiñeira de Pasu".
Anxo's becoming one of the most important celtic pipers in the world, due to its speed. Check the Celtic connections video, he's magnificient.

There is not a jig, there's an Asturian traditional tune, "Muñeira de Casu". The first tune is a Galician tune composed by the great masterpipe Ricardo Portela; its name is "Aires de Pontevedra", and it's based on old Galician "alboradas".

Is that a highland piper in the back? if so, what are the tunes? They seem like some good tunes
drewdonlon 2 years ago
I think they're from Northern Spain, Galicia or Asturias perhaps.

No: he's Anxo... a monster of galician gaita. The tunes are also galician: Aires de Pontevedra and Muñeira de Casu.
