This was beautiful. I mean...it really drives home the motivation behind Peter's sacrifice in the episode and the pain he felt at Olivia's loss. She was his world! :'(

because networks have the evil of advertisements and the show can only run so long. if it were on hbo or shotime the running time and creative freedom would have allowed them to include it in the original version.

I remember when that video showed up where this orchestra was recording a piece for a Fringe episode. If I would have known back then it was for Olivia's funeral... This was just too much. Excuse me while I go cry.

Oh wow. I thought the tv version was good without the speech, but always wondered what he said. Now that I've seen the version with the speech I like this one better. Wow, I have to say it again.

Agreed, taking his speech out probably did make that scene more emotionally powerful, but in the broader scheme it really tied together everything that led to Peter's sacrifice and did more to bring home Olivia's death. I think including this would have been a better choice on the whole for the episode.

I have no idea why this was deleted. IMHO, this would have made the finale emotionally much stronger, resonated more and given a more satisfying conclusion to the Peter/Olivia story that began in the Pilot. What a wonderful scene, beautifully done by Josh! Pity they edited this out.

I avoiding to re-watched these scenes (Olivia been shot and the funeral) every times re-watching per episode because feeling hurt and sad until now nerve to watch, the speech really beautiful and touching, Peter Bishop and Olivia Dunham, you both are so PERFECT, should get together , GO GO POLIVIA !!!

God. Too intense. I'd never imagine such a broken Peter. And Josh is just PERFECT! I think that when producers decided no to show this beatiful speech (beautifully written and beatifully delivered) it was thinking in the greater scheme, (that this Olvia's death wasn't real, ans so....), but I am really HAPPY they have put it in the dvd. It's a MUST.

This speech is beautifully written and beautifully delivered by Josh. If anyone doubted Joshua Jacksons acting ability then they should be watching Fringe each week ...... and then finish it off with watching this heart wrenching scene. I consider myself one lucky Fringe fan to see Josh nearly every week in nearly every Fringe ep (hint hint MrWyman & MrPinkner). We are lucky to have him as part of our AWESOME cast. Im glad ive been a fan of this mans talents for a long time. I adore you Josh!

@runpaceyrun It's depressing that Mr Wyman and Mr Pinkner don't agree. I don't think I've seen this sort of treatment to a main actor ever. And the thing is that all the reports on set agree that Josh is amazing. So why do they shortchange him like that? We'll probably never know, but it's incredibly sad and there's nothing we can do.
