That is a Cadillac STS with the diamond color paint if you slow the vid down frame by frame you can see the egg crate grill and the emblem in the center as well as on the trunk the lip for the spoiler that only Cadillac used the only Lincoln it could have been was an LS and the front end is completely different as well as the grill & tail lights on the LS and they didnt have that spoiler, so who ever thinks its a Lincoln is sadly mistaken. Another great give away is shape of the back door window

Thanks for this information, I am thinking my next car will be used police ed crown vic. Cadillac has given me poor performance & break down issues in the past. Mercury Marauder is too expensive, somebody thinks MM is collectible.
@mcc11505 the MM will only be collectible to a handful of people. ford had been producing that platform since the early 90s which means parts will be available for a long time but those police cars are run hard. they are rear drive but handle poorly and are not very fast. the later models look good, though.
crown victorias are way better than any other normal car, ther only thing better than a crown vic is a turismo, mustang, viper, or anything in that catagory
irregardless of the the fact who one the crowh vic still has more potential since there is a ton that could be done to the ford 4.6 while you can't do anything more to the caddy motor even if they did make parts for it thanks to GMs dumb ass decision to create a FWD V8 and stick it in a so called high end car. (FWD transaxles were developed as a way to reduce production cars and make cars more stable in snow/rain before traction control was popular since FWD is less likely to oversteer than RWD.

If I can get a guy to build my kohler lawn mower engine to 50 horsepower & 56 ft. lbs. of torque from 16 horses then surely you could find someone to fit a few over sized pistons ect, ect and get another 50%hp out of the 220 plus HP engine.
I say u can't really add power to that model caddy because its FWD. even though you could probably make some serious power with a supercharger,turbo,all motor mods. too much over factory will just translate into wheelspin and power is absolutely nothing without control. thats why 1000 hp hennessy twin turbo vipers can be a good 400 hp stronger than the next strongest car at "super car" challenges but barely comes in 4th or 5th cause u got to be so easy with gas to not spin wheels

That translates into traction! I prefer the handling of a rear wheel drive car but, in the hands of a driver that learned on or has learned to drive a front wheel car, they are at no lose on the track or road.

@rysc86 The northstar was not an "iron block v8". It was all aluminum, magnesium, with internal iron compenents. The transaxle is what weighed the front end down on those cars.
@mrrodneyalong accelerate which helps some with RWD but kind off hurts FWD. thats why the FWD drag cars have "wheelie" bars, not to stop a wheelie but to " push the rearend up to reduce that weight shift. just because a car has alot of hp doesn't mean its a performance car, People rave about the smooth ride of caddy's but the other side of the coin is that the handling sucks in the older car's. lexus and BMW's ride as good but can actually handle well for thier size

actually i'm a import guy so i do have some love from fwd cars just not the FWD v8. I do like caddys but only the 50-70's models, the 90's Fleetwood and CTS-V. FWD was made primarily to save production cost and provide some "traction control" so i find it bullshit to but in on your "flagship" sedan.just about every other luxury car company "flagship" is RWD or AWD. technically the bottom of the line CTS is better than the top of the line DTS.

same as the crown vic in this vid but since its double overhead cam its got 260bhp it runs high 14's right now but I've seen a mark viii with heavy * * ( HEAVY ) modification pull off 11.8, albeit the mark is a rear wheel coupe based on the same frame as the continental and if you get the LSC model it comes @ 290bhp , bone stock... Love the v8's though, they always turn heads when you lay into em...

@rysc86 The northstar was not an "iron block v8". It was all aluminum, magnesium, with internal iron compenents. The transaxle is what weighed the front end down on those cars.

@mrrodneyalong accelerate which helps some with RWD but kind off hurts FWD. thats why the FWD drag cars have "wheelie" bars, not to stop a wheelie but to " push the rearend up to reduce that weight shift. just because a car has alot of hp doesn't mean its a performance car, People rave about the smooth ride of caddy's but the other side of the coin is that the handling sucks in the older car's. lexus and BMW's ride as good but can actually handle well for thier size

@mrrodneyalong -production cars every model year. They have always been the quiet performers and didnt usually boast about it. alot of firsts in the caddy line in both performance and comforts.

actually i'm a import guy so i do have some love from fwd cars just not the FWD v8. I do like caddys but only the 50-70's models, the 90's Fleetwood and CTS-V. FWD was made primarily to save production cost and provide some "traction control" so i find it bullshit to but in on your "flagship" sedan.just about every other luxury car company "flagship" is RWD or AWD. technically the bottom of the line CTS is better than the top of the line DTS.

@tehBLAX they are good, reliable, and comfortable up front..(I know, because I used to be a police explorer and rodeo in several crown vics, way roomier than my personal 95' camry)...the crown vic is a nearly "unbreakable" car, but once August of this year hits, Ford is gonna discontinue the crown vic...in the meantime, GM is bringin' the Australian Caprice over here and is gonna make it a "police-only" vehicle, but it's not gonna replace the crown vic of course

Not too bad for the crown vic. The cadillac should have done much, MUCH better. My DTS can run circles around a vic. Given an actual straight line I believe the caddy would have left the crown vic far behind.

It is retarded how they can drive as recklessly as they want and get away with it. Yet if we do it we're fined heavily and risk losing our license.

Cadillac Northstar 4.6 is a POS. they built it poorly especially the cooling system head gaskets are worthless, as well as the radiators and the water pumps. Sorry FOMOCO makes a better quality built car then GM corp.

I got a 98 lincoln continental with the double overhead FWD configuration 4.6L V8,
same as the crown vic in this vid but since its double overhead cam its got 260bhp it runs high 14's right now but I've seen a mark viii with heavy * * ( HEAVY ) modification pull off 11.8, albeit the mark is a rear wheel coupe based on the same frame as the continental and if you get the LSC model it comes @ 290bhp , bone stock... Love the v8's though, they always turn heads when you lay into em...
