this is great :) im a casual gamer, not a hardcore gamer who is looking for extreme graphics.... but i can run this on medium and also i run Dead Space on Medium 800x600 :)
Well...yeah it's not bad, P8600 and 4 GBs of DDR3.
It would just be nice to have some higher settings on F.E.A.R. 2 or something. Just a bit more power would be nice.
Something that really got me upset is that the new drivers made it so I can't do 960x600, which is the perfect compromise resolution on L4D2, Dead Space, COD4, and F.E.A.R. 2.
Obviously Intel supports gaming just as much as anyone else.
Though, it's not like they can totally replace dedicated graphics cards like a GTX 260m for really serious gaming.
Though PC gaming is kinda down right now, think of DRM and the consoles, and a lot of people aren't playing the most demanding games, and even if they are they'll do better with the new one, a lot of people don't even really play PC games.
One other interesting thought is having both, switch off dedicated to save power
cheers, its just its the only price vaio that I can afford and I need to get one soon because I'm putting off buying things I need to save. it would only be for the occasional modern game anyway. I would mostly play games like counter strike, team fortress2 and half life 2 and i think it will be fine for taht
Yeah...I have it in my new dell latitude...I didint want to pay out another 120 dollars for the nvidia graphics chip upgrade, and i think that this will handle most my games.
Why does this not let you run it in 1280X800? also, how much RAM does it take up? My laptop has 2GB of ram and vista and playing oblivion i have not maxed out.
@Chipmunkshows do you know how can fix long loading on this game cuz each place i go through it become longer and longer do you know how to fix it?

if they lowered the polygon usage then it would run faster!
stupid developers making games only work on consoles.

Hey guys, I got this broken laptop, that I could fix, and here's it's specs, do you think it'd be worth like 100USD to save?
Microprocessor: 2.00 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5800
Microprocessor Cache: 2 MB L2 Cache
Memory: 4096 MB
Video Graphics: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
Video Memory: 1759MB
Will it be able to run Hl2/gmod and other similar games at maybe like 30 fps? on like 1280x720 with medium settings?
halflifefan84 1 year ago
@halflifefan84 HL2 at medium gmod depend on the map itself some map really dont run quite well cuz it big and more detail

@Queena009 If you're running it better with lower textures, maybe you're kinda short on memory?

@Chipmunkshows that's the odd part. I have a Intel x4500M 3GB Ram 2.0 Intel Dual Processor.

i have dx 11 right now if u got 4500mhd and windows 7 u prbly do 2
NeonKing2754 2 years ago
What the 4500mhd?
I've tried gamebooster but it crashed my system.
It's already a kinda small screen, so doing 800x600 or 1024x768 make it have black bars, and above 1024x768 gets too choppy.
Game booster might just do it if I do it right.
Maybe I'm just too much of a gamer for a mainstream card, but then I tell myself I don't need to play games much.

Ah, I'm just stuck with a 9400M G.
Which isn't too bad.
I wonder when we'll start seeing DX11 dedicated and integrated in laptops.

Heh, yeah not bad.
It's got lots of new features, so people who want to do video, music, photos, online stuff, and light gaming will be totally happy.
Which is 90% of people buying a laptop or so.
You can see the exact speeds of the different versions if you look up the Intel GMA on wiki.
I wonder if Nvidia will change their website, since it crunches the 9400M G in FEAR 2, The Sims 3, CSS, HL2, and often 3D Mark, but I doubt it.
You can almost hear Nvidia sweat bullets.

Man the new ones really needs a more distinctive name.
It's mostly just called the GMA HD or Intel HD graphics.
The one built into the CPUs, came out last week.
Usul573 2 years ago
It's cool that it's better?
Usul573 2 years ago
That you are.
Hey I think the GMA HD has hit 40 FPS at 1024x768.
Cool no?
Usul573 2 years ago
That was a perfectly good waste of an explanation.
Usul573 2 years ago
demo?
Usul573 2 years ago
i think resolution and textures doesnt affect fps
except the graphics detail, at least thats for me
FILIPINOMAZTER 2 years ago
Oh it does.
Think about it, it's a bigger image, and the GMA isn't fast enough to do the bigger image in time to keep a good FPS.
What's with the comment at :11?
F.E.A.R. 2 isn't that demanding.
Usul573 2 years ago
it doesnt affect mine, unless i change the graphics detail
FILIPINOMAZTER 2 years ago
Hmm, I dunno.

Well as I have TF2 on my laptop and I know it works, I'll vote for Fallout 3.
Fallout 3 works now, with heads enabled too, apparently :D

i vote for team fortress 2:D

I found that in most areas there was little FPS change between low-medium-high texture settings.
Other than that DAO is a great game, put a good 50 hours into it!
