Buchanan gets a lot of mileage on his President's Democratic Convention speech. He, however, still continues to use worn out, old fashioned, stupid terminologies (conservative and liberal). He should remember that President Obama does not distinguish democrats from republicans, red from blue states, etc. For him, we are all Americans. Buchanan must re-read President Obama's convention speech and learn from it. This applies to every American.

If only the extremists on both sides would get that basic truth. But what troubles me about Pat is his chameleon like ability to shift gears to fit the audience he is pandering to. I have literally seen him with in hours espouse diametrically opposing opinions on MSNBC and Fox. Have the courage to state your true opinion and stand to the heat. He just doen't impress me as a very honest person at all.

pig5689, you're making the same mistake a lot of others have made. Buchanan last night was only giving his opinion on the merits of Obama's speech, and as a former speechwriter himself that's right up his alley. He has never, even last night, considered Obama a good candidate for president. He is diametrically opposed to him on most all the issues. People are confusing Buchanan's praise for Obama's speech with praise for Obama himself.

Pat Buchanan is a partisan who is paid to know the effects of political speeches. It was his living for 40 years or so. He saw the speech, and he knows history. And he knows the effect it can have. So if an adversarial partisan like Buchanan calls it "outstanding", "magnificent" and "the greatest convention speech", he just may know what he's talking about.
