@reinpret you come across as a very dismissive person unless someone agrees with you. Chemo or poison or whatever you feel happy with calling it have saved lives and given families more time with each other
gene wilder in stir crazy was really funny when i first saw it and still makes me laugh even now. Gene reminds me of my mother. he has that feminin touch but without the gayness. This guy dosnt really have to try to be funny so i geuss thats whats amazing about this guy.
groowing old is part of the natural life cyle, but i dont see gene wilder as old he is just moving along on the journey of life, he is still handsome, and sweet, intelligent and just plain lovely, i am glad he has remarried, and is so happy, i love him so much, i had the same disease, i survived too, gene wilder is a great entertainer, a great person all together, he is timeless.
Let me tell you people something. There is a lot of people in this world being that in the entertainment buisness that can learn a lot from this man, on how to conduct themselves in public. i find a lot of entertainers have their heads in their backsides, this man aint one of those. This guy is a real pro entertainer. I love this guy.
i'm so happy he's healthy, is he retired? i would love to see him to a See no evil, hear no evil sequel and the story could be that wally (richard prior) died but he had a son that was just as stubborn and wack as he was (chris rock) who also became blind
its sad that the frankenstein who played everybody loves raymonds father died :(... im glad gene is still alive :)... but im still sad over graham champman :(
as far as chemo and radiation go, it "can" work for some. But the fact of the matter is it kills most people, but destroying their immune system, the very thing they need to help fight and destroy the cancer. It's a hard decision to make, and I wouldn't fault a person trying to go the poison route. But i'd much rather choose the natural route, as i've seen many using hemp oil, apricot seeds, and an alkaline diet go into "complete remission".
@Chris396 - I hear your concern, however I'd suggest you do some actual research. My father and a friend are alive today because they did the research, and went about a different method of treating this horrible disease. There is no magic bullet cure, however I do believe that many things including the couple I mentioned have been shown scientifically in independent studies and research trials to be 100% effective in either the remission of tumor growth, or the ability to stop its growth.
@Chris396 - however, I'm glad that this poison worked for him and all it has done good for. But you sadly like many still are uneducated in this area. I'm not an expert but I am informed and have seen and heard with my eyes and ears. The way we treat cancer is changing, more and more people are having success stories using alternative methods which is teaching us more how to combat it. but the fact of the matter is, if your only method of treatment is barbaric chemo, then I am saddened for you.
@Reinpret Tell that to Steve Jobs, who waited 9 months trying alternatives for his cancer. Had he trusted medical science, he may still be living and loving life.
RIP, Steve. You made a difference. Hopefully your story will convince others with a similar choice that you should trust the real experts and not chase after alternatives you read about on the Internet.
@dougmoose1 - sadly you did not do your homework. Trust me, the treatment that steve jobs did maybe considered "alternative" by the medical community, it was far from it, It was chemo, just in a varied form using drugs that isolate cancer cells. Its still poison, and so are your words. My father is alive today because of alternatives having seen his cancer disappear, but what the fuck would you know about that? nothing. Educate yourself and open your mind and heart.
@Reinpret Your tone and language tell me you're too emotional to have an open mind. Every body is different. There isn't one treatment for everything, including cancer. Some respond to chemo, some respond to alternatives, and many never improve. Some go into remission without any treatment. Others give prayer the credit. That being said, we have no way to connect to outcome to each remedy. Don't pretend your opinion is better than all others--that's arrogance.
@Reinpret From Steve Jobs' Biography: "I've asked him" why he didn't get the operation, Isaacson told Steve Kroft of "60 Minutes." "And he said, 'I didn't want my body to be opened. ... I didn't want to be violated in that way.' I think that he kind of felt that if you ignore something, if you don't want something to exist, you can have magical thinking. It'd worked for him in the past. He regretted it."
@dougmoose1 - it was chemo.. and what is your conclusion? about it all.. you seem to also have a strong opinion. Hypothetical scenario : a loved one is terminally ill according to the medical community. What have you learned? what would you do with your apparent open mind? do you have so much faith in the economic system some call a medical system? that you would put a loved one, fear a child perhaps through the barbaric methods they call treatment today? you may be beyond help if you chose to.
@Reinpret If you choose to distrust medical professionals, that's entirely your right. You should be just as considerate of others. If I find myself in this situation, then it is my decision about how to treat it. If you don't agree with the choices others make, then you should at least respect their decisions and not fly off the handle as if the very idea of trusting the medical establishment is fool-hardy! Steve Jobs regretted not having surgery earlier. Science is science. Have faith!
@gulgul2006 Well he said he was working on "See no Evil,Hear No Evil" wich came out in late 80's (I think) and he's been married for 15 yrs. So I'm thinkin this had to be around 2003-2005??

Mr. Wilder I think you should come to the realization that the cancer field is a scam. When the truth comes out it will dwarf what the Nazi's did in the death camps. People walk into into Sloan Kettering every day and months later come out in body bags. The Evil that was once in the death camps has now anchored itself in the cancer hospitals. Imagine putting drain cleaner into little children and murdering them and then your going to tell us that the Nazi's are bad people people.
@danhero2 Why don't you go for a check up and if you are eating the conventional foods most likely they will find some kind of growth which is not even cancer and since they are animals who chase the dollar you will wind up on the receiving end and I don't mean bending over as they lie to you it was cancer and slowly pour car battery acid into your veins as the cash register in their head goes cha ching and then drop me an e-mail that's if you survive and most never do.
@Frank289100 I feel sorry that something in your life has made you this way but thanks for the expectedly unhinged reply, although at least you didn't retaliate after I rather childishly called you a plum and a quack-candle.
@danhero2 60+ years have gone by and still no cures. I am a strong strong believer in GOD. I am not a big church goer nor an extremely religious man but I respect GOD/Christ. Your faith in life is everything. God did not create this kind of world it is corrupted from A to Z which is mainly due to man's greed and the absence of GOD being Atheistic beliefs this in itself has fucked up the whole world. Even if GOD was a fairy tale it kept people in check so they dare not step over that line.
Most people who take the drain cleaner and blow torch are pushing up the daisies. Once you take the chemo the quality of your life is gone so why bother taking it. Don.t use Mr.Wilder as a example that he survived. Once you take the chemo its only a matter of time before it returns. Chemo creates 175 new cancer mutations and in each cancer there is roughly 165 colonies. His doctor will out live him because they don't take chemo neither do they let their families. Its a scam.

@LoomiT92 No, I'm glad you wrote that. You can really tell he still hasn't lost his inner child. For him, the world hasn't managed to loose much of it's luster, and the things and people around him still seem to amaze him. Very reassuring, actually :).
My best friend died of Non hodgkins lymphoma. They gave him six months and he took seven years. A wonderful man and sadly missed. hate hearing this about Gene. Another great human being we're better off having with us.
Oh My God! This gives me so much hope! My boyfriend who is also my bestfriend has Hodgkins Lymphoma, he just had the stem cell transplant. Just to know that the stem cell transplant worked as well as it did gives me so much hope, I cant explain it!

He seems truly happy. What an amazing man! I'm sure his positive attitude went a long way in helping him defeat non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

My dad took me to this in a walk-in theater. He freaked out so much, we just were in fits of giggles.

On of the greatest, most gentlemanly humans on this Earth. He has such a warm heart, and caring eyes. What a fabulous person.
He has been through so much. It's brilliant to hear that he has seemingly won his battle!
We love you, Gene.

He still sounds young for an old man. I know, completely random.
LoomiT92 1 year ago
@LoomiT92 No, I'm glad you wrote that. You can really tell he still hasn't lost his inner child. For him, the world hasn't managed to loose much of it's luster, and the things and people around him still seem to amaze him. Very reassuring, actually :).

My best friend died of Non hodgkins lymphoma. They gave him six months and he took seven years. A wonderful man and sadly missed. hate hearing this about Gene. Another great human being we're better off having with us.
