I remember when this happened. We all got out of school early. That was so bad. You could still see the cloud an hour away.. My step-dad and my friends dad were working there at the time. Thank god no one got seriously hurt.
i wuz in skool when dat happened nd da doors flew open nd lockers nd everything everybody looked out da window nd saw all dat some nd some kids started cryin cause there parents worked there but all in all nobody died thank fully but it wuz cool cause i got 2 skip skool lol
actually if u know better it actually internet spelling so and this was horrific luckily not very many people were injured i was injured i fell back out of my chair in school and busted my head lol
I live in big spring and go to a near by school (not BSISD) and it was ...not even first period yet and we feel the WHOLE school shake and then we see the smoke....one of the men that got burnt was my friends uncle...my brother also is recieving a Medal Of Valor for being a firefighter for it! its OSM!!!!
i live 2 miles from the refinery. No cameras were pointing to it. And everybody was to shocked to start filming. And who would be randomly filming when it happened. They would have had to know when it was gonna happen.
i had to drive there that day from san angelo to visit my fiance in prison there :( i was worried about him because it's not like he could just leave if they needed to evacuate the town.. thank God it didn't call for that. that smoke cloud was huuugge too. you could see it from like 40 miles away.
it couldnt have blown up half a mile away. That means you would be closer to it than the Sid Richardson plant. There are no houses that are closer than 1.5 miles away...
i live about a mile from the refinery and i was sleeping in bed when the explosion happened. It jerked my bed around and almost made me fall out. Lol, i had skipped my first period class to sleep only to be awaken by that.
Yeah not only did midland feel the shockwave, but I felt the shockwave all the way over here in San Angelo Tx. I was in my first period class and there was no wind outside and then blam, the windows started shacking violently, lol my mom back at home was woke up by shockwaves hitting the windows at the house while i was at school. Gosh i can only imagine what it was like to be in Big Springs when it went off.
Yeah, my Dad heard it here in Midland. A co-worker's husband was at home and heard the window rattle. It blew cars off the interstate, for crying out loud!
I heard windows in Staton were blown out...but I don't know that for sure.
I live in maryland currently Its been 4 years since I lived in big springs, It caught my attention on the news because it said "an oil refinery in Big springs tx" and then i quickly looked up at the news. I found it funny that the guy on the news said big springs is located just outside of dallas and I was like uh its 4 hours away, then 10 seconds later he said correction its about 280miles away lol! But yeah I lived in the other side of Big Springs by the base.
I remember this, I live in San Angelo, I saw this in our headlines, it was crazy

You probably need all the school you can get. Some punctuation and a spell check would do you wonders.
