The music sounds great and maestral and I personally like it and it does brings those chilling fellings from I & II maybe is little more less guitar then previous ones and bit more chaotic but it sounds great!
People, please, CALM yo tits. The song is the way it is for a reason. A new diablo game? A new score, possibly just for the damn cut scenes. In the original diablo game all those prime evils were secretive, dark, and trying their damnedest to get their plot done for most of their stay. Over all it was a more creepy and haunting process once our characters go after them. Now the situation has completely changed. Two sides are invading so this game over all is going to be a LITTLE more chaotic.
this music gives the perfect feel ominous in the beginning and unrelenting anger it gives a feeling of hopelessness idk wtf you people know about music but I can tell half of you people are moronic fools
No no no!! This is not the music for this game! Please listen to the music from Diablo 1 and 2 (NOT LoD) - THIS is the kind of music for Diablo 3! Please do something with it because it will ruin whole atmosphere of the gameplay..
Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great game series such as Diablo. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
I like the vocalization, but it doesn't fit the haunting atmosphere Matt Eulmen is known for. The arrangement is quite good for a battle scene or a siege, but I'd rather hear a sad, evil tune for the main areas.
Are you kidding me? Listen to the ascending intervals followed by irregular resolution that occurs twice before the end of the first minute: That is synonymous with the soundtrack from Diablo II. They're still stacking clusters like mad as well, keeping them voiced apart to prevent muddiness. 1:30 is a recurrent variation of the original Tristram theme, and it is orchestrated masterfully with a majority of the weight of the chords held in the mid-ranged voices.
People can say whatecver the fork they want, this music has the very original Diablo feel to it, a very bBlizzardy track, who gives a fork if Matt Uelmen isn't in it, they're OBVIOUSLY doing a good job lol xD
the music is to actionish, it should be in wow not diablo, not creepy and calm like it should be like how it was in pervious diablo games, when i hear this music it reminds me of heroish stuff a big beast like diablo is the last thing on my mind when hearing this shit.
i don know why games all fail when they come out with 2nd and 3rd sequels ... one of the things they often ruin is the feel to it, this is especially when it comes to horror games ...
They probably wanted to. However, Uelman either refuses to or is not allowed to because he is contracted into Runic Games, the people who made Torchlight.
Awesome! Diablo must move forward, not backwards. Diablo gameplay goes beyond the cathedral and the past adventures. Diablo must become movie, he got potencial!
I think this piece works well and is not too far from the most recent Diablo game. Lord of Destruction was musically very different from it's predecessors (orchestrated and inspired by Wagner) and Russel Brower is continuing from that. I have full confidence in him, his new music and that he will add in some bits from previous games. He worked together with Uelmen on some tracks for the Burning Crusade, so he probably knows something about how Uelmen works and how he would make game music.
The composer doing the music for Diablo III is Russell Brower, who did the Lich King main theme. Matt Uelmen left Blizzard with some other Blizzard employees to form Runic Games, the studio behind Torchlight.
I know they don't have Matt, but they should've at least tried to imitate that amazing distinct sound of his. Either way, I'm sure Diablo III will be amazing, and I played without music on D2 fairly often anyway since I needed to hear what my friend was saying over VoIP.
@Rethic: Chaotic athmosphere. That's the point. Diablo1 was meant to be horrific and creepy, and diablo3 is meant to be chaotic and epic. And that make perfect sense with the story, since the action diablo1 was on a way smaller scale than diablo 3 (a demon is corrupting the king of a village VS the whole world is invaded by hell)
@NHFandHFP Yes!!! Diablo 1's music was atmospheric and medieval sounding. Catacombs was my favorite, just maddening as the song progressed. D3's music has that cliche epic sound. I hate that. It's like it's trying to be movie quality, just should never have happened.
@NHFandHFP Really? People will make up anything just to be unhappy with something. Why do people find it necessary just to make themselves unhappy? I remember Diablo music and Diablo 2 music, both of which had songs in them that felt too uplifting and happy *cough* Tristram theme *cough*.
Most of this song is incredibly dark and ominous sounding. The new Tristram theme is incredibly dark and the game as a whole has the dark and eery feeling that we know and love about Diablo.
This song sort of reminds me of a musical score from Jurassic Park 2 the chaos continues for the snes, I think its in the mountain stage with all the pteridoctyles, or maybe its a different stage. anyways one of the songs in there. It starts at 0:53 and goes on for about 3 or 4 seconds. If you notice a resemblance please send me a message so I know others agree with me.
@ShrivyShrivey ok I looked it up starting at 0:53 in this video for about 3 or 4 seconds it sounds like music from Jurrassic park 2 the chaos continues for the snes. This is the video to look for to find it, Jurassic Park 2 - High Ptera

Some people are just expecting Diablo 1 or 2 similarities you will never get that, get over it . The sound track is amazing its new its fresh. but I know why everyone want it to be like diablo 1 or 2 it was amazing game with amazing soundtrack.
I have the same feeling towards FF7 after playing that game they never surpassed it ever. even with FF12.
At the risk of getting thumbs down: does anyone notice that the aspect ratio is all messed up? You can tell by the moon at 1:05, thich looks like a fucking ellipse.
God, I really hate it, when people mess up the aspect ratio.
I like the fact that this has some parts of the original Tristram melody. but an acoustic guitar piece would be MUCH stronger than some orchestral shit. too bad Matt left Blizzard.
Honestly, Diablo III is being made by a different developer now. If you look at it that way it helps. The entire presentation has been completely changed.
Blizzard Irvine has just completely shit on Blizzard North's style and presentation. There's no way to sugar-coat that; it's the truth.
Diablo has changed a lot. these musics are chirpy full of life kinda. I don't mind that as long as they even it out with some spooky original music of some sort.
Let the colorful darkness consume your soul... just kidding. :3
Diablo has gone from a simple dungeon delve into humanity's battle to survive the war between heaven and hell. I think the theme goes a bit above the heads of spiders in moldy caverns.
But nevertheless, Diablo conveys mostly mystical, demonic and phantasmal dwellings. Needless to say, anybody could be sure that it'll not stray from that way. Most definitely the amplitude of this game will continue to weave further beyond its already stunning and diverse environments. However contradictory it would seem, I believe that the dungeons and caves do play a big role in the theme of Diablo. Thus it shall go in parallel to say the music will go in conjunction with breaking the limits.
Agreed to all. I was duly impressed with how D2 incorporated D1's music along with new themes, and expect D3 to do much the same.
Some people didn't like the fact that D2's music went a bit more epic than the first game, but the world stage is also more vast (as opposed to one town and a huge dungeon) and there's more characters affected by its demonic events.
Call it an educated guess: Diablo 2 had elements of Diablo 1. This has elements of Diablo 2. So I can well imagine that Diablo 3's soundtrack will feature overarching elements from the previous games, even if new stuff is added as well (which it should).

I couldn't possible be more unimpressed. Yay let's take Blizzard Norths brainchild and twist it into something utterly inrecognizeable stylistically from the original names.
I never liked WarCraft; never liked WarCraft; never liked WarCraft; never fucking liked WarCraft, NEVER FUCKING LIKED WARCRAFT. IMO it's Blizzard's worst IP. Banal, derived, generic fucking brainless high-fantasy bullshit.
Diablo was fucking beautiful. It was original, it was dark, it was sooo fucking alternative.

That is true, i was so disappointed when they reseased first pics/videos from Diablo3. Diablo has always been dark as hell. Remember Bucher from Diablo 1? Bloody hell!! He was one of the most epic bosses in game history. So pure satanic evil and slaughter...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
When i saw the color palette of Diablo 3 i was like... WTF!? Is this some kind of joke?!! Diablo 3 is going to be inside the world of huggy bears!?... So colorful...
I am oldschool Diablo fan too and would like to see Diablo 3 as scary as Diablo was in the 90's. Less color and MORE CORE!!! And scary music. After all, we are dealing with SATAN him self.
Shake off your beer goggles for a moment to acknowledge that most adult gamers who got creeped out by bits of Diablo 1 as a kid aren't going to be anywhere near terrified of Diablo 3 sheerly because everyone's already been conditioned for this stuff.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I hate to say it, but I am pretty disappointed in these new epic, fully orchestrated D3 pieces. It just isn't 'Diablo' without Matt Uelman's simple, exotic tunes. And the new pieces shouldn't have to refer to the Tristram theme just to feel like Diablo.
Well actually if you think about it in Diablo 1 was set in a small village called Tristram so it was supposed to be simple like. While Diablo 3 is supposed to be wordly and epic so the grand orchestra-type music kind of fits.
The wonderful thing about PC games is you can always hack the sound file and put in your own music. Diablo 1 had great music for the game's atmosphere, but it wasn't varied enough for one that took as long to play through as Diablo 2. D2 did, however, have the occasional nod to D1's music, and I bet D3 will hearken back to both of these great games.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Roflmao :| the second melody reminds me more Robin Hood legend of sharewood than diablo :| I don't like this. It just dosen't match to diablo klimat:|
The song is alright, but they need to drop the gay sounding woman that apparently is Egyptian, this isn't Titan Quest ( Game ) or Gladiator ( movie ).
That woman's eerie melody adds to the "gothic/dark" theme of Diablo... In WoW, you would have (if vocals are included in the music) a choir or some sort and make the melody sound suspenseful or upbeat. In Diablo, they made it subtle and ghastly, which makes it a perfect addition to the Diablo theme. And yeah, it's true. It's one of the better parts of the song since it boosts the eeriness of the scene.
This game will be......EPIC. I have been playing diablo 2 for 8 years, and finally the sequal is here. I only hope we dont have to pay for online gameplay.
YES! when i first played lod that track was the best when i went out of the camp and the seige music started playing.. the music in this one is gona be very much like lord of destruction music!
The music sounds great and maestral and I personally like it and it does brings those chilling fellings from I & II maybe is little more less guitar then previous ones and bit more chaotic but it sounds great!

Cool story, bro.

An armored hero slaying a demon with his sword is neither original nor alternative. It was dark and violent, though. I'll give you that much.
And now for the elephant in the room: what does Warcraft possibly have to do with Diablo 3 other than music from both games share this video?
unnamednewbie13 2 years ago
so when is this actually gunna come out?
rush2905 3 years ago
wow... they managed to make the tavern music sound epic.

I hate to say it, but I am pretty disappointed in these new epic, fully orchestrated D3 pieces. It just isn't 'Diablo' without Matt Uelman's simple, exotic tunes. And the new pieces shouldn't have to refer to the Tristram theme just to feel like Diablo.
skullboy13787 3 years ago
Well actually if you think about it in Diablo 1 was set in a small village called Tristram so it was supposed to be simple like. While Diablo 3 is supposed to be wordly and epic so the grand orchestra-type music kind of fits.

WOW just because you have a different opinion doesn't mean you have to talk shit. Comments are for sharing opinions, not being an asshole.

The song is alright, but they need to drop the gay sounding woman that apparently is Egyptian, this isn't Titan Quest ( Game ) or Gladiator ( movie ).
AnonymousX12 3 years ago
are you kidding? that's one of the better parts of the song imo
peekopeeko 3 years ago 2
That woman's eerie melody adds to the "gothic/dark" theme of Diablo... In WoW, you would have (if vocals are included in the music) a choir or some sort and make the melody sound suspenseful or upbeat. In Diablo, they made it subtle and ghastly, which makes it a perfect addition to the Diablo theme. And yeah, it's true. It's one of the better parts of the song since it boosts the eeriness of the scene.
