Hey Pilots!...This one just made to the Porch....The first thing I wanted to check out was the rear wheel ass. It looks like they made the MOD! Not a Peace of floop around plastic wheel.
Not bad...Still beleave I will hook up to the ruder surfo. Has any one put this to test yet?
Tony, Great to see you include the slow speed speed and stall characteristics. I have been wondering why you didn't include this before in flight reviews. As you know, any real pilot wants to know these characters of a plane they are flying as these are the areas that will end your day real quick if you don't know.
Nice review. This plane will do alot more than the original. The real C-47's were slow and would not hold altitude on one engine, let alone do any aerobatics. Original at Travis AFB
hello Antonio i would like to ask if dynam will release the metal propeller hubs as a spare part or an upgrade as i own the skybus would be much better than the plastic spinners that came with it.As i can not find any information on spare parts for this transporter version Many Thanks
Yes! I really do like the format of the flight review. Also, your commentary is really helpful, as well. You are a natural test pilot and I'm looking foward to seeing more flight reviews with you in the future. Also, I think that some flight comparisons with Tony would be helpful, as well. Everyone is different, and input from two different pilots presented in the same review would really step things up for Nitroplanes and ultimately benefit all your patrons.
The flight looked fast for the C47 look but handled well.... don't know about the wing loading but looked like it could slow a little more on the landing before droping a wing and/or......!! Very enjoyable and good looking bird... for sure...
How much aileron and elevator throw were you using? I have the dial on my RX set to about 50%. Also, did you place the battery all the way forward? Was your CG at the recommended 60-65mm from the leading edge, or did it come out slightly further back. Mine is around 75mm and it stil seems nose heavy.
When/if you ever open up a store over here in the UK or Europe i'd buy of you boys all the time, so start working on it and i'm sure you will have loads more custom ;-) great flying and such a sweet looking bird = thumbs up.
I watch all your reviews, I think they're great. 1 constructive crit.. when you describe the battery.. e.g. 2200mah 30C. Also maybe mention if it's 3S, 4S, etc? If it's in another part of the video, great but also right where the battery is described would be ideal. Sometimes I skip forward and would be nice to know if new batteries are required.
Nice looking plane. It seems to handle pretty well also. I agree with some of the other posts, retracts are the only thing holdin this back from being a very nice kit.
On the full size C-47 /DC-3 the tail wheel only casterd . The Pilot used the brakes and engine tork to turn on the ground. Great looking plane all you need is some plasic paratroopers.
@carlosmurphy4u the reason they point down is bc of the down thrust put into it for it to fly leveled at full speed. its design thing that had to be put in :)
The rotating knob on the 2.4ghz TX controls the amount of elevator and aileron throws. Can you tell us where you set the control knob for most of your demo flight?
Also, do you have the scale props in stock? I have the original Dynam Skybus which I have painted as a C-47, and would like to add the scale props on mine as well.
The cross controls you are describing is a skid. It is not a coordinated turn and could result in the low wing stalling first resulting in a snap. After saying that you never slow the plane down so you don't get in a critical condition. Student pilots are taught not to skid the plane. A skid is opposite to a slip which is used to loose altitude and for cross wind landings. I think the plane flew to fast for scale.
@Eugensdiet you are 100% right on that on a full scale plane we call those skids and yeah they are meant for when you comming in hot and high on final they will make you loose altitude quickly. in the Rc world i learned it as "cross control " thats wat everyone calls it that i know. and to my surprise these rc models dont fly like the full scale,
@XHELIBIGT , I'm a flight instructor. Skids are a dangerous maneuver because the low wing can stall. This results in a snap. Slips on the other hand is where the plane is banked and then opposite rudder is applied to keep the plane from turning and are used to you keep a plane lined up with a centerline in a crosswind condition. Slipping is OK. Skidding is not.
@Eugensdiet you are 100% right on that on a full scale plane we call those skids and yeah they are meant for when you comming in hot and high on final they will make you loose altitude quickly. in the Rc world i learned it as "cross control " thats wat everyone calls it that i know. and to my surprise these rc models dont fly like the full scale,
@Eugensdiet@Eugensdiet they fly very similar but not the same exact tendencies. i think its bc the thrust to weight. you can see in the video when i "cross control" it didnt really loose altitude like a full scale one did all it did was make it look flat and smoth haha :)
@XHELIBIGT Skids cause the plane to turn flat and this is fun to do when flying 3D but it is not a full size plane maneuver. Typically what can happen to a student pilot is he becomes a little nervous about banking the plane more as he is turning final so he kicks in rudder. On many planes the low wing gets masked by the fuselage and looses airflow and the wing abruptly drops. This is bad news if you are a couple hundred feet up. Full size planes like the Ford Trimotor fly nice using the rud.
Needs a steerable tailwheel, retacts and some cargo to drop! The aerobatics were cool but for a scale bird not something you would see the Gooney Bird do!
I agree more touch & goes would have been nice. Are there any three blade pusher props the same size so one could do counter rotating props on this one?
It needs to be bigger. I have issues with scales like it used to bug me when I was a kid and other kids would play / mix different scale toy cars together. It's not right to mix different scales. God would disapprove of its scale LOL.
what a nice looking plane, like it already the only thing i miss a little for such a cool plane arr retracts, im sure it could take the extra weight ...and very nice review Antonio, really like that you guys show it in all flying conditions, like fast and slow flying, stalling and so on...that give beginners and intermediate pilots a much better view of what to expect from a model before buying it...keep going guys
