well, if you compare it to the European languages, it is definitely MUCH easier. And, it also depends on how linguistically inclined you are. Personally, I think Japanese, while it can be a little difficult to learn sometimes (what language isn't?) is easy.

Since I'm a native Portuguese speaker, I find the Japanese pronounce very easy, indeed.

But as you can notice,most of European languages are far way easier than Japanese for me.

You see,in Japanese the sentences are always the inverse,there are thousands of polite and non-polite words for hundreds of hierarchic positions,I never know when to use the particles... and so on. Not to mention the kanjis.But I can speak conversational Japanese and write basic kanji - not sure I do it correctly, lol.

The sentences are in inverse and there are MANY polite/non-polite ways of saying things. So, I guess I have an upper hand, and the kanji, I feel, aren't hard, you just have to have good memory:)
