Does it really MATTER if they're girls? They're trying to give the image and portrait BOYS as in ANIME, why do you care if they were born female or male? It's very strange(nearly impossible) to see beautiful boys(gay or straight--Not that I'm saying there aren't) cosplay male characters and do a yaoi act/photoshoot/fanservice. Plus, a lot of male anime characters have female features so girls DO have a bit more chance on pulling it off(as well as a LOT of pretty gay/straight boys out there)
