  • You described the alveolar trill very well. Could you describe how to pronounce the short simple "r", too?

  • Excelente pronunciación.

  • @scsfaith What's the problem with the r sound?

  • No se porque estoy aquí...

  • do you have a russian or spanish accent I can't tell?

  • you pronounce it great, I speak Spanish but I can not pronounce the RR.

to have good accent for the language.

  • wow, you made it simple. thank you so much ^ ^

  • I definitely have the soft sound down. It comes up in Japanese some times. But, it's still something I can only do when I'm not thinking about it. And I can't 'not' think about it all the time.

  • Southerners are too redneckish to speak an foreign language. Heck, they have enough trouble with English.

  • I teach languages as a method of hitting on women. My natural reaction to una Mexicana parlant français, is all that I need. But then I got back to the US, and I'm sorry, but a Texan talkin'n french just don't kut it fer me... But then I discovered that I can get them to purr for me... and that seams to do the job ;-)

  • excelente vídeo, gracias :)

P.D. You´re very very Beautiful (heRmosa)!, thanks for that.

  • perra is bitch also jaja so dont say it to a mexican girl :P

  • Relinda Grrrr!! :)

  • who disliked this video?

  • You don't vibrate the tongue consciously. In English you put tension on the tongue as it is at the back of the top of the mouth in contrast the strong r is actually relaxed, floppy and forward, at the top of the mouth. The Air going over it makes it vibrate. To open a door you don't move the wall. Concentrating on the tongue is like moving the wall - you cant do it. Focus on the air, you need more than normal, near the roof of the mouth. Similar to buzzing. You don't consciously move the lips.

  • It was nicely done but i think my southern accent prevents me from doing this i try try try and its just so hard for me.. I sound like one of those people u talked about that does it to strongly hahahaha i'll keep trying, my cuban friend is also teaching me ^^ but he laughs at me :P and goes nononono not like this but i keep trying

  • @RadiateSunshinegurl Don't worry! hehehe, I'm sure you'll get it right if you keep practicing :)

I like teaching spanish and helping people with it so if you need help with something about this language, just let me know :). Be patient with yourself :), my english is not that good either hehehe

  • @RadiateSunshinegurl You're right, for some Southerners we will find them to have a bit of a difficulty producing the 'r' and the 'rr' sound. This is because southerners have an innate predisposition to mix the phonetic tap sound (the 'tt' or 'dd' sound in butter or ladder) with the interdental (th) sound. HOWEVER, when practicing you will need learn to hear the difference between all of these sounds. After that you will be able to know when it is you are pronouncing the correct phoneme.

  • Great video, I still can't get it right but I'll keep trying!

  • @CouchMonkeysPro yes! keep trying! It's not that hard :) just keep practicing and i'm sure you'll make this sound very soon :)
