  • awwwwwwwwwww Im sorry for what you are going through. Plain ignorance it one of the problems in the world! The same thing now is happening to Muslims around the world. I feel it for you! Hope everything gets better for you and everyone!!

  • What a touching video

  • lol @ waterhoses..

  • why ur blocking tht guy comment not cool he is expressing how racist he is we should respect him for been a dick

  • @PartyTomdachi

Don't know what you are talking about. We shouldn't respect anyone for being a dick, but we should thank them for entertaining us.

  • If he is fine with Japan and the gaijin-bs, I guess I'll be too as a white guy :)

  • lol finally someone admitted that one eyed monsters are PURE stereotype

  • @heythia

    Ignorance revealed.

  • Comment removed

  • @heythia Your words are tremendously stupid. Period.

  • he's just angry that chicken is more expensive

  • some ppl say White is right ~

some ppl say Black is best

omg the world is sad sigh~

  • great vid!!! I totally agree with you. I'm Japanese and part european but I look like im not japanese at all. when I went back to Japan for about a year for school, i was very shy of what people would say to me (&since i'm also very shy) but in the end i had great times and never had any problems. maybe some classmates stared at me weirdly but after I got to know them, we are like best friends aha. In my opinion, I think Japanese are not racist we are just shy people when it comes to foreigners

  • Amazing video and message. Stereotypes and ignorance can be the hugest hurdle, but just being yourself can change that stigma with one person at a time.

  • "BLACK COOKIE."

Sounds like one the girls was "hungry". xD

  • @DaringDarkwingDuck loooool i actually cracked up when I heard that. I'm black myself, and when I go to Japan I'm gonna have to restrain soooooo much from not laughing in someones face if they insult me!! The comments sounded so childish! :L

  • black cookie hahahahahaha! XDDDD

  • White Supremacy has had a strangle hold on this world. Its ridiculous. Some of these Japs act like Whites can do no wrong. Thats gay!!

  • Yeah, white people get all the breaks. I went into Tokyo-Mitsubishi bank yesterday and they just started throwing money at me. Every time I search for an apartment, the landlord offers to pay me to live there. And my girlfriend's family threw me a party when they found out we were dating...

If you're not white, don't try to say you know what it's like to be white.

BTW, it upsets you when people say you have a big cock? Issues...

  • he looks like Taye Diggs <3 lol

  • Very cool view, I liked what he and rhyming gaijin said. Thanks to victor for introducing awesome ppl!

  • This is a world's matter....not just in one country! (There's even black people who are racist and hate themselfs)

  • sce1productions should have started like: your mileage may vary...

  • I want to go to japan. I would love to experience some of that. I learn very quickly when it comes to languages..If I come there I hope that we can meet inorder to learn from each other. I am black man and I have always had good reponses from asian peoples. I work at Thai restaurant and they love me there! I am so glad there are other out there like me that value being intelegent.

  • Its ridiculous how American stereotypes get spread throughout the world by the media.

  • Great video treatise on the subject!..Anyone who has the traveling or living abroad bug, it's worth going for the adventure. Wherever we go there can be good & bad. But I find most people are nice wherever I've been... I definitely stood out in Scandinavia when I was there. First traveling, then later living for a short time. But I think the most important thing: staying busy. Wise to have a cause or a job. Easier to meet people if staying awhile. That would be the main thing I'd change. :oD

  • @roxanneworld11 [Also: if possible have contacts wherever you're going. The places where I already had friends, that made it a lot easier right away. Otherwise be GREAT at making friends & if the plan is to be a long term visitor, study up at least a little on the language. Even if you're not sure you'll ever need it again.]

  • I have friends that came from Canada to Japan and quite living here in a fact . I am always open to Gaijin , I wouldn't call them . I would call them friends (^o^~ But yes , Don't let that upset you . In away we are all different and we know like what it is to be different .

  • I have a white friend who had the same experience with a Japanese family.

They`re aren`t too open to gaijin.

Don`t let that upset you too much

    A

  • hey that was awesome. i like this guy a lot, im headed to his channel. being calm and changing perceptions is hard im sure, but its the best way to go!

  • ぎゃはははははは

  • It certainly is changing, heck, just check out Dante Carver

  • Very informative! Great video.

  • i think you speak a little too fast in this video man. with the background music it makes you hard to understand.

  • Thanks for the intro! He's such a sweet guy!

  • American media exporting hatred everywhere ...

  • Is it bad that as a black person I found "Black Cookie" kinda sweet. Like it seems more like a compliment, or its mostly because Ive been eating cookies the past few days >.>

  • I met a group of housewives yesterday and they were like you are "handsome" and "cool" and one of them suggested that I met their 27 year old daughter but I'm not single so I couldn't take her up on her offer. It was an interesting day.

  • Nice video! While I guess some of it might be a bit of prejudice, probably they are just forming their opinion of black people from maybe things they hear on tv about problems certain black people have and things like that. You want to be mad and say don't do that, but really they just need some good examples to understand I bet. What a good thing nice people like you are there to show them really, no matter the skin color, people are just people.

  • word.

  • Remembering Dennis Haysbert's explanation of the word gaijin in Mister Baseball.

  • @ElevenColors

The whole movie is apparently on YT. But I don't remember it. You gonna make me watch the whole thing again?

  • @Gimmeaflakeman Being a gaijin in Japan is like being a black man in the States.

  • MR PO PO !!!!!

*Dive rolls and grabs fire extinguisher*

    trololol

  • I'm an Asian-American in Japan so I get a free pass for a lot of stuff. But there are stereotypes that do carry over: How many guns do I have? Why is America so dangerous? I think one of the luxuries of being Asian-American is that people assume I'm Japanese until I say something. Then they either think I'm retarded or a foreigner.

  • That was a very interesting vid!!! thanks much!!! but what about you Sensei? you are Hispanic what is it like to be brown in Japan? lol jw!!! ;)

  • What a likeable guy. Subscribed.

  • @tlilmiztli

Why did you click on the video, dumbass?

  • @tlilmiztli actually a lot of gaijin do experience videos. i've seen like to black gaijin vids

  • @tlilmiztli Freaking hell, A troll! *sigh*

The subject you were looking for was about how you can learn Japanese incorrectly through Anime or some freaks who thinks they're Japanese who stares into a camera and only can say one line phrases. You won't find those type of people on this channel.

Show me that you can shut up. You have no idea what this channel is about, and no one cares about what you think except your mama. Your dumb? Hell yeah! (oh no, you can't read...)

    -I liked the video :)

  • @tlilmiztli Haha you're mad son!

  • @tlilmiztli The video is tilted being black in japan. No one is trying to send you on a guilt trip. This is this man's experience. The good and the bad.

  • I'm also a black man and I'm just here in JPN for a few weeks. So far, my experience here in JPN have been great. People here are very polite. I make sure I'm just as polite. No experiences where I felt I've been discriminated against. People smile and bow when seeing/meeting me. My only trouble is I don't speak Japanese, lol. I think being blk here in JPN doesn't stand me out. It's my height, lol. Only stereotype I've gotten is they assume I play basketball very well, lol. I do ball though :)

  • Thank you :D

  • Thanx for this guy's! sec1productions--Thanx for sharing this with us. Victor please make Brown in Japan or uhm Red in Japan--if possible...

  • Very insightful. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us!

  • Great video man you seem to have a good head on your shoulders and think about things from out side your self. I just came back to the U.S. from Japan and as a Gaijin I can totally agree that yeah no matter what race you are over there you are treated different but that is because a lot of people dont know how to take you ..I'm not a black man but I am a heavily tattooed man so I to was at first glance judged but I was super polite and beat the stereo type.

  • @zombiesblvd I also wanted to say unfortunately I did run into a lot of black men from Africa that came off super rude and may have strengthened the stereo type a lot. I've heard that a lot of them try to pass them selves off as Americans to get girls..but just some friends have told me this.

  • @zombiesblvd yea i heard the same thing

  • @zombiesblvd I've heard that also. I guess I have that All American blk man look. No matter where I've been they know I'm American. I don't know why an African would want to pass off as American. Be yourself. A foreigner can call your bluff quicker than an American. I would say that some Jap girls are very fond of black Americans though, lol. Not all of them, just some of them. I had a group of 3 Japanese girls come up all wanting a picture with me. I never felt so popular in my life :)

  • The sub box is working again for me. I guess it's just one of those lil glitches that pops up.

This is a great video. :) I appreciate his perspective on this subject. :)

  • Enjoyable video.

  • Did he just eat strawberry icecream? Or... sucked a red lollipop?

  • Thank you very much. This video is very helpful :) Keep going :)

  • Ok, this guy's a great guy. He's smart and understanding and kind hearted. All those gangster ass punk shit black kids in my school and that make up the majority of the blacks I see around my city and surrounding cities wouldn't help the "black image" in Japan at all.

  • Being a foreigner from anywhere you might run into troubles because of the stereotypes. Thing is: Im German! And as you know there is a bunch of stereotypes that comes with it, and people confront you with wars neither they nor you experienced. And at the end of the night many of them use to tell me: "You actually aren't typical German!" - So: their stereotype about Germans is still the same, they just exclude me and take me as the one non-typical German they run into ... no change at all ...

  • I hope eventually we (the world) become more racially accepting. We are all human and we should judge based on character and actions, not on appearances , race, or creed.

  • Hey Victor, I meant to say in my comment on your last video, thanks for trying to get You Tube to fix the inbox problem.

  • Haha that's a classic black person thing to say "Im half Cherokee Indian thats why my hair is so good"

  • :D Nice video. Thanks.

  • Oh my gosh, "Black Cookie". @__@

  • Perfect explanation !! being african american and have traveled japan, this is so true! well said sir.

  • it did, it did show up!

  • this video was extremely interesting!

  • man! :) Glad you share your experience, but that happens for all races! Even Japanese make 'jokes' about Japanese! So many individuals, what can we expect! Stereotypes are so mainstream! ENjoy! :)

  • White is right.. Lol'ed so freaking hard xD...

  • i like this guy. i think i'm racist though lol. cant stand the ganstalicious thugs lmao.

  • @ZeakwildfireAB nither can some black people--I reefer to Chris rocks comedy.

  • Great video. Having been to Japan several times, I know what it feels like to be treated differently because I'm a gaijin. I've sat downon the train only to have that person stand up and move away even though they didn't get off at the next stop. Generally speaking, Japanese view all outsiders with a cautious eye and I try not to let it bother me. As for black stereotypes, the media is really to blame because of how things like rap music and movies portray blacks.

  • Yes, very good video! I loved it!

  • It's preposterous that black people are treated differently than other foreigners! Fantastic video-comment dude! =)

  • part 1) it must be difficult when there's a difference between other people's stereotypes and perception of you and intolerance...and your own experience of yourself as a person just like them with tender feelings and intelligence. Like doesn't the mother realise I'm not some brute, I'm a person just like them that oughta be loved and taken as an individual? That's how I imagine it.....

  • Thank you for the good video.

  • this was very eloquent :)

  • I have no skill in comedic video. lol. Thank you so much Victor for giving me this opportunity to talk about this touchy subject. Really thanks man. Cheers mate.

  • Great video. thanks. Everything you said was totally predictable... but I don't mean that in a bad way. I'm just smart lol

  • Great video by Sec1productions.

  • i guess every country hav there stereotype. i feel for u.

  • haha, the view above my macbook screen is the exact same Leopalace shelf and closet as I watch this.

  • And this one arrived in my subscriptions as well.

  • I've always said that almost all the 'so-called-racism' in Japan is due to the pure ignorance. Japanese people are just not too used to live with people from other countries. Ignorance is not a good thing, but this will not change so fast, neither Japan will be so much of PC country in the near future. Regardless of race, as long as you are a good nature, people in Japan usually do welcome.

  • I thought that Imovie was all you could need (I'm a PC user). What does final cut offer that Imovie doesn't?

  • gimmeablackman

  • Just watched both of your new videos from my subscription box, so Youtube isn't broken for me. Hope this helps.

  • Well this got into my subscription box. And dang... heavy subject, but I'm glad sec1production is so honest about a touchy subject like this one. But this is what, the n-th time I have seen this subject turn up in the last month? Racism all around, being black in japan (or anywhere else). It's sad, for me, really, that this is still such a hot topic. A person is a person. There are stereotypes, sure. But people should transcend their stereotypes, and other people should let them! Power to you...

  • why are you always rearranging your hair piece?

  • @olitraiga

Doo yuuu raiku my her pes?

  • One thing, i clicked on the link to sec1productions youtube page, but it doesn't work. i Think you missed the 's'!

  • @kAToNROY

    Yes, thanks!

  • 2. This speaker. Molefi Kete Asante hit the nail on the head with his lecture about African people and the distortion of history.

He outlined 'The Philosophical Bases of an African University,' pointing out that in the imposition of the Eurocentric worldview in higher education 'there was a Greek at every corner' but that the Greeks themselves 'were but children to Africa, and to India and to China.' watch?v=S8gZT6Vc9pk&feature=related

    Great video btw.

  • I wish nobody in the world had ever seen MTV and/or "American" pop culture, my life would be a lot easier whilst traveling.

  • Vic, I think this is what people wanted out of RhymingGaijin's video. Sec1 tackled the question head-on, answered honestly and candidly, and didn't make any attempt to skirt around the issue. Don't get me wrong, RG's vid proposed a valid and important perspective too, but watching this one left me feeling like I'd gotten the information I really wanted to hear. Thanks to both of you for sharing this.

  • I think the only difference between Japan and some Europen countries for instance, is that Japan is not as PC. In other places people might think exactly the same racist things but not say them.

  • 1. America and Europeans have done a hell of a job of distorting the image of African people world wide. I've never felt hostility from any Asian person because you can usually tell that what they are saying is from TV or Western media.

Check out this conference that was held in Penang, Malaysia, 27-29 June 2011 It's about Decolonizing Universities. Speakers from Asia, Africa, the Mideast and elsewhere to evaluate the problem of Eurocentrism in universities.
