I'm planing on getting one but I have one concern. I have many clients that ask me to play a cd that they've brought to their party. How would accomplish that with this unit. Do you also take a cd player and hok it up to thru switch?
Well you could easily run the CD's into your laptop and play it from there. Otherwise take the Master inputs of the VCI and connect them to the outputs of your CD player via RCA cable
I applaud people wanting to DJ but these "toys" are simply not for me. This might be cool for a sweet 16 party or for people who really dont care and just want to hear some music but the day these are accepted at DMC is the day I fire up my tables like they do the aprons in Hells Kitchen. I am not going to hate on anyone game but I will stick with tables.
Probably one of the best reviews I've seen of this product. 5 stars. I've been trying to decide between the VCI-300 and ITCH or the VCI-100SE and Traktor, and this is giving me a great basis for my research.
Thanks for the review. I bought one last week. The first one that I bought had some type of issue with its programing. So I returned it to guitar center and they exchanged it for another with no problem. I think this is the best compact solution for a digital DJ.
This thing is really dope. I've been using this, and it's only froze up on me once. Anyone want to buy some turntables? It's ultra portable yet big enough to some dj tricks.
Hello there, i would like to ask sth, im a newbie in turntable and i've got this for just few days , wanna know can i export the work i made as a mp3 file in ITCH..? and how to export a track and save it? thz for answering!
what is the best way to buy and how fast does it come in. a price value would be nice as well! im getting it regardless but i wanna know the best way to go. dont reply any bullshit b-cuz ive got champion dj's on standby. please reply intelligently
actually u can also check on the official website of serato , then u will know the official distributor and which one and the location is closest for u
nice midi controller.. i almost buy the vci 100 en then i saw this :P.. so i thought i just wait a lil longer and save some more money for it. but i got a question tho..
can u use this on virtual dj like vci 100?..
i kinda work a lot with that program.. let me kno pls..
Hey great video I have a question, if the software reads the BPM wrong can you still beat match the tracks by using the wave form to line up the beats of the tracks your mixing?
I thought serato software showed BPMs in real time as we know BPMs can change throughout the track, hence why so many digital DJ softwares are not reliable enough to play on the fly.
Yeah... so my lil dell cant handle the itch... something about not enough memory.... FYI they got a Djing for Dummies book!!! check ur local library or amazon/ebay xo
Hey GREAT VID! Quick question for you... at 1min 33secs to 1min 37secs you cutting the loops. Is it possible to just cut the loop to a double beat rather than having to cut the loops till the beat gets distorted? Or is that the only option you have, to go thru all 4 settings? I hope my question wasn't too confusing.
Hi. I got a question on the software itch. Do you play salsa or merengue? Because I use torq. And I don't like' it because the beat grid is off all the time and when try the sync mode the two tracks are of beat. I hate this software so I like to get the vestax vci-300. Maybe you tell me if you have these problems with itch. thanks
all software is likely to be inaccurate - just make sure you have sharp latency and you know how to manually beat match. most software programs allow you to manually set the bpm paramater...
Dude, personally I used to agree with that because I used Traktor, and it was terrible at beatmatching! But Serato Itch does it really well! I mean, it definitely better to do it yourself but I was pretty impressed with Serato Itch
I don't know the exact details, but I'll tell you it's much better and much more precise than the denon dnd 2500 on traktor... However, it's interesting to note that itch will only do 6% pitch shifts with the slider, it has adjusting buttons to move the range down all the way to 50% or so... It's hard to explain.
In other words, the slider will only go -6% up or down, I guess they did this to keep it precise to the 0.1.
Let's say you wanted to go 12% up, you would to press a pitch button +
How would you play music in a small place like a house, where there is no mixer? I really want to get this controller, because it's a bigger and better 'brother' of the VCI-300 with an integrated audio interface.
Very good demonstration and explanation! Thanks a lot!
The VCI-300 Works as a mixer in the sense of crossfading and cueing capabilities. It also features a balanced TRS (1/4 Jack output) All you need is a TRS to XLR Converter and you can hook it directly to your speaker without any external mixer.
Thanks a WHOLE LOT! I'm a complete "not much knower" about this yet. Everyone tells me this VCI 300 is a good choice, and you convinced me that it is. I already saved money for it and i'm waiting for it to come out. Of course i want to make sure that i can use it like i want to. :D
I saw in another video that it can do a vertical wave form as well. Is it like regular Serato, where you go into the options/ setup and do check the box?
It needs to have a booth out for us mobile jocks. Also should have line inputs on channel 1 and 2 to add a set of decks when you dont want to use this if playing with other dj's. so this unit seems very selfish.
Automix feature is a welcomed enhancement from the digital world which allows you to be even more creative, by having more time to scratch, loop and make live remixes....
The problem is that we need to keep up with technology and denying technology because it'll make the job easier is completely anti evolution in progress....
Look at the positive side, "if they add an autoscratch & an autoloop (which already has)"
Then you would be so good that you can start mixing with 3 or 4 tracks at a time and be even better....
It's all about innovating, and all these features allow you to do just that!
really nice and really good lol

You just don t need tables to play house music - have you ever thought about that?
Neither for Electro, Trance and Techno
Ok maybe for some Hip Hop music but it is just way easier to get your music sorted out right...

Just get a small mixer aside and problem solved!
