When large motion pictures require vast amounts of fog/smoke, units like this would be ideal for simulating forest fires, cloud banks that a ship might emerge from, etc. Most "foggers" cannot produce as quickly with such volume. This type of unit is only used in "specialized" situations and is NOT a common type of fogger/smoker used in the business.
Why would someone need a jet engine just for that? Why wouldn't there be other machines that could produce that same kind of smoke-puffing without something that spins so dang fast and uses so much fuel?
