man I just installed Windows 98 on an old ThinkPad I got free a week ago, and man it reminds me of how much these OS's blue-screened in the past! I think I've gotten at least 20 blue screens already trying to install updates and drivers. I love my XP and Longhorn though!

Interesting how technology looks really top notch when it first comes out, then, after a couple of years it's "Windows vista is rubbish", get the update etc. and suddenly the computer you've got runs at the speed of a snail and looks archaic. Such is technology.

@tardiskeeper6 Frankly I'm not using any themes at all, at the moment at least. I have the Classic design on right now. When it gets boring I do use StyleXP occasionally though.

But I do like the Classic one. Reasons are: simplicity, being much faster (even on a Core 2 Duo there is a difference), and well....it doesn't distract you with all kinds of fancy colors and bells and whistles....but I know that's not for everyone.

@tardiskeeper6 Couple that with XP-AntiSpy, disabling a few unnecessary services, installing Windows on its own drive (like C: for Windows and all your stuff goes on D:).

And then XP is simply unbeatable for stability and speed. :)

I often leave my pc running for weeks and weeks....without a single issue.

from what I see here, Windows continued to be ugly up until windows XP.  2000 was mostly just gray, which didn't help. Then in Vista and 7, they started doing things with their windows that Mac did suck as shadows and hotkey organization. And it took them until windows 7 to get built in anti-virus. My comp genius friend says it only causes more problems.

I'll stick with Mac. But this was still a very interesting video. 4/5. Very well done.

@daniellynet Mac has different hotkeys for that, and it's called force quit, which you can do by right clicking on the icon in the dock, and it's much better than stupid "end task" which could take anywhere from 30 seconds to 30 minutes to end something.

BTW, the Ctrl for mac is simply called Command. If you can't figure that out, you don't deserve a Mac.
