  • I love Blue Magic!!!

  • @msdeedee3 That's great! ;)

  • I'm so happy you made this video!!!

  • I love this, it's so funny! You know I used to have apl natural hair that I used to wash every two weeks and do mini twists in. It was so beautiful. I used blue Blue magic or I would change it up and get the green one. My natural hair was long, so long that I hot a relaxer (look) :-)

  • "Best twist out EVER, OK!" LOL! I laughed so hard when you chipmunk voiced that part!

  • @naomiellison LOL...Take care!

  • I found what ur saying to be so true I keep going back to a few products wit the so called bad ingredients in it that we use to use when we were young lil girls and my hair was still long and grew so yea ur right:) thanks great hair too

  • @9086863951 Thanks for chiming in! ;)

  • Does your main hair regimen still consist in using terressentials mud wash, water and shea butter?

  • @missneroli2006 Sorry for the delay in responding...no it doesn't. My hair was always dry. I had to stop that regimen. Didn't work so well for me.

  • @missneroli2006 Thanks for asking. I updated my video.

  • I been shying away from using anything containing petroleum, preaching to my sister that she needs to use more natural products. Smh. She always would say, "girl, just use grease and water." If I would have listened sooner, would not spent so much on my hair care products. I still love my "natural/organic" products but not their prices.

  • @callie751 I hear you! You and me both. ;) Thanks for chiming in.

  • I totally agree that one has to use what works for them. Your hair is looking fab!

  • @msfullroller Thanks, Sis! ;)

  • Love the instant replay! LMBO!!

  • @foxyrou Thanks for stopping by! ;)

  • A lot of naturals are revisiting plain grease and petroleum products. I myself am up in the air.. I wanna revisit the curly girl method and Petroleum is an no no for a cowasher. But if I decided to use my Dove Shampoo (a sulfate) it may work. Nothing seals like petroleum! I wouldn't put it on my scalp- or anything else on my scalp for that matter. But as for my hair, it's getting to be colder and.. You know.. that sealing property is very VERY tempting. :)

    Jen

  • @BlackAngelPlayah I do the curly girl method (technique) most of the time...a modified version. Whenever I want to do a twist out, which is not too often, I use other products that may have the petroleum/mineral oil. I honestly think that co-washing is okay when using petroleum based products. There are lines that have those ingredients in their styling products, but they have sulfate-free cleansers. I need to do more research on this, but I'm thinking its okay. Thanks for chiming in!

  • A lot of these chemically enhanced products have a lot of nasty chemicals that when absorbed into the body can wreak havoc to your system. This is especially true with growing children. Some of these chemicals have harmone and estrogen disrupters that can accelerate puberty, or even cause feminization in growing boys.

  • @azureblu1 What chemicals are you referring to? I am aware that soy will cause hormonal imbalances and allergies in some people and that there are hair products that do contain soy. I've never heard of a hair product causing hormonal imbalances like the ones you've mentioned. If this is the case, please share the studies because I'd really like to know. Thanks!

  • @EvelynPrather I heard that parabens, TEA, DEA, MEA and propylene glycol are some of the more popular ones that are either carcinogenic, or hormone disrupters. When I have some time, I will dig deeper into the research behind these claims.

BTW, I always had dry hair no matter what I did. I found some data that the silicones could be to blame. I ditched all the cones and voila, my hair is able to retain moisture. The cones were blocking the moisture from penetrating my hair.

  • Ms Evelyn I love ur videos...but if you love the castor oil one maybe sometime you might want to try the indian hemp and super sure gro i love how it made my hir feel..and their leave in conditioners aren't bad wen i'm out of my staple...and i do put a lil grease on my scalp too and my hair has been growing like normal

  • @Princessnugrowth Thank you! I saw those in the BSS, but I didn't know which one to choose. So thanks for the recommendations. I appreciate you sharing and chiming in.

  • some of the comments from other videos are really negative towards grease. It's not bad at all. I feel that some of these natural hair companies are making too much of a profit from us. why should we pay 20 dollars for 4oz of hair stuff, plus pay 10dollars for shipping. Now that's a rip off. Shea moisture products are a $9.99 for all items...which are reasonable and locally. I'm going to try out the Yuuca items from shea moisture and pray that they work...waiting on a BOGO sale also

  • @msladynatural00 I've been there and done that many times, but not anymore. I can't keep spending and not getting good results. It is definitely a rip off.

  • My thing is if it works for you then use it, LOL!!! That is your hair and your choice. I do not understand why ppl get so upset....it is not like you are putting it in THEIR hair, LOL!!! I am saying this and I am one of those people that do not use grease. However, it is not right for me to try to tell someone else not to put it in their hair just because I do not want to use it in mine... smh.

  • @drroberson4 Exactly! Thanks for sharing and chiming in!

  • Excellent video. When you first start out being natural, you tend to buy so much stuff, trying to find that right mixture to bring forth the curls you want to have. I have yet to go gaga over a product except my Aussie Moist conditioner. My Eco styling gel is fine for bringing curls/coils out, but I still have a patch of hair in the top that looks like bird's nest. Not sure which one is better: Eco olive oil or argan oil. Want to try SheaMoisture curl defining cream, but waiting on a BOGO. LOL

  • @LandiDexter Thank you! Yeah, so true. Have you tried twisting that patch of hair and setting it? That might help give you what you're looking for. I hear you on the BOGO. I'm waiting on one myself. ;)

  • Great Video! Makes perfect sense.

  • @starlamotivates Hey, sis...thanks!

  • I always use castor oil based grease, usually with mink oil. It's great on my hair. I still have sisterliocks but It makes my hair shiny and soft. Absolutely LOVE it! Yes I agree, we have become product junkies today. We never used that much stuff on our natural hair back in the day. Seek ye the old paths indeed! lol Thanks for sharing sis!

  • @v8diva I know your sisterlocks are beautiful. You are so right about us not using a lot of stuff back in the day. Yes, indeed!

  • My cousin used to get mad at me for using his Murray grease on my hair, Ain't nothing like grease & water!! Old school works everytime!!

  • @sherrosgirl LOL...grease and water. Yes, yes...that's really all I remember my mom using on my hair.

  • Lately I've seen several videos about grease. I tried it and really liked it. I spent hundreds of dollars on natural products that didn't work. who would thought that what I was looking for cost $3 dollars.

  • @msladynatural00 Girl, ain't that the truth.

  • love it!

  • @bellanatural01 Thanks! ;D

  • You tell em!!!!

  • @BlkCoffi Thanks, lady! ;D

  • Jcokes on Youtube has been doing a grease series. Years ago, I used products all the time with mineral oil. Even up until about three years ago I was using Blue Magic when I first went natural. But then I started using more natural products. I glad it worked out for you. I even was about to buy some Royal Crown. I think I might have to pick some up.

  • @Alisha10000000 Yeah, Jcokes is got me thinking about trying hair grease and I broke down and did it. So glad I did. Take care!

  • You know I love using hair grease on my natural hair! Good for you for stepping outside the box!

  • @thecreativelady Yes, I saw your popular vaseline video. Your hair looks good too. I don't know why I waited so long. Take care, CL!

  • When I was relaxed I used the Blue Magic coconut oil grease and it smelled sooooo good! I have been thinking of going back to using that.

  • @LuvnDaNaturalMe I saw the coconut oil..I almost got that one, but chose the castor oil one.

  • Your hair is fab.My friend uses only vaseline on her face. Her face is flawless no blemishes. She does not wear make-up either.I guess if its not broke why fix it lol!

  • @MultiNaturals Thanks! I remember an elderly lady (she's since past) using only vaseline and she had the prettiest skin for an 80+ years old lady. Yeah, that's the truth!

  • @MultiNaturals I use vaseline on my face too, grew up using it. My mom used to always put it on my face before school....lol

  • your hair looks fabulous :)

  • @MzSuperMinni Thank you! ;)

  • @EvelynPrather you're welcome :)
