@oldtreebeard1 yeah ive gotten alot further twords the part were they figure out that linoge is a wizard or somthin. its pretty creepy but its realy cool
I remember the 1st time i saw this movie. i had to ask my mom if i could sleep with her. :-S it gave me nightmares, but i have to admit... I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! or, this mini series.. :D
Born in sin, come on in! The movie includes an ideology of "Original Sin", which is rejected by most Christian denominations today. It goes to show Stepen King is a very educated director even to the extent of some Theology.
Mmm, Colm Feore owned that movie completely. Linoge walks into that store like a thoroughbred into a stable of donkeys. He knows he's won the game before he even starts to play it.
I remember when I read the book 3 years ago, it was terrific! And the movie seems to be a good adaptation ( the teeth of andre linoge is exactly like in the book!)
It actually is Legion, there has been a discussion about it and an interview with stephen king revealed the incoded word as Legion, which was actually thousands of demons inhabiting 1 soul.
I remember seeing this when I was still in 7th grade... Perhaps the best tv movie ever made (Manhunter is still fair competition) and a penetrating morality tale just as good as Needful Things.
BTW: Being a fan of Von Sydow's performance in Needful Things, I would like to see Gaunt and Linoge meet-up at some point (infact I may do that if I ever have the time).
Awesome video! Yesterday I watched Storm of the Century for the first time, and I gotta say, Colm Feore totally stole the show as Linoge. One of the coolest villains I've ever seen!
I would agree with you however until I had seen Michael Rosenbaum on Smallville. That dude stole the sceen. He is totally the best villian but this guy now steals the sceen in a close second!
King never really answered the question of rather andre really was the Legion but I think from the show, its a good bet that he was indeed Legion. From the sheer power of the charector, what else could it be
I think this song fits to this character, though maybe not the lyrics (the title sings in different tune), bit positive which isn't bad for we do not know if Andre was or wasn't a demon, we can only guess; every Evil has a Good side and vice versa. I love the movie and yes I like Andre's temperament and personality. Like an all-knowing wise wizard who fears not of humanity. Anyway, once again : Great movie with great actors !
The song, actually, needs to be "Red Right Hand" by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds ))
It's just increbible how the lyrics (and the music) of it fits to the story of Storm of the Century and the portrait of Andre Linoge.
I even think that somehow it may not be just a coincedence, even though the song was written in 1994, which is six years earlier than the book (and one year after the actual storm of the century took place in North America).
Legion was a group of minor demons who possessed people and animals. Linoge doesn't seem to be a possessing spirit, but rather a human man with a greatly extended lifespan and great magical power (the fact that he CAN age, and that he needs a human to be his heir, implies that he was once one himself).
I think he used the Legion anagram (Linoge is likely not his real name) to get a message across to the townsfolk, since there is a story about Legion drowning their victims.
The impression I got from Linoge is that he wasn't always evil, but became so due to constant exposure to human sin and pettiness. Kinda feel bad for him,in a way; living that long has made him so jaded.
I beleive he isnt even form this world, I think he is either the Demons known as "Legion" or he is a other worldly traveller, since he said the "Weirding stones" were "Old when the world was Young"
or he could be somehting else all together since in the book King said he just pictured him in a prison cell, like a dark tower maipulating all those around him.
and he also confirmed the existence of multiple gods and immortal beings traveling this world when he was in the town hall.
A demon came from the past. He needed for a successor 'cause Linoge was old, that's why he came in that small town to choose a boy growing him as the next demon.
I must say the music goes perfectly with Linoge. This may seem a bit weird but I think that he's not the devil. He is like a dark angle his purpose is to destroy sinners.
I think people are confusing Lenoge with a sorcerer. He's not even close to that. He's the demon Legion in human flesh. Legion is a pretty popular demon. He's seen in The Exorcist, The Exorcist of Emily Rose, and other horror movies.
You were in a whore house in Boston, when your old mother was dying, the last word she spoke was your name. Well she's in hell and has turned canible! And she's waiting to eat your eyes out over and over again..
he's not a sorcerer, he's the Demon Legion from the Bible. Look at the spelling, Linoge=Legion. This is the same Demon that spoke to Jesus when he met him on a road in Mark 5:9. If you ever watched the Movie "The Exorcist" thats also the same Demon.
In November of 1587, a report reached London claiming Sir Walter Raleigh's expedition to land English settlers in America had foundered. The colony on Roanoke Island off of the coast of North Carolina-115 men, women, and children-had disappeared without a trace.
The words CROATOAN were carved into a tree near by not far from where the settlers once lived.
This legend which was true as part of the history.
Free the kids...yeah right. The song used in this trailer is totally inappropriate for such a brilliant piece of television; Would you play the loony tunes back catalogue at a funeral? No.
u mean u haven`t seen it? i saw it when i was like 10! he wants a child to be his `apprentice`!lol! great song by the way. otherwise i would have pissed in my pjs right now!

He's not Legion.

he did not age himself, he simply revealed himself....thought that was obvious

Yes, he revealed himself as being very old and withered. Which means he can age. Which means he may well have started out as human.

SadisticScott 2 years ago
Illuminati didn't exist until the 1600's or so. Linoge strikes me as much older than that.
Also, if the Illuminati actually had magic powers, I think their plot to take over Europe would have actually worked. No?
