    love you viv!!!

  • at 0:49 is Joan Fontaine and not Vivien

  • @frigginirishloons The photo at 0.49 is Vivien Leigh in her role as Emma Hamilton in the 1941 film 'That Hamilton Woman' co-starring Laurence Olivier.

  • @basilnelson Oh...well then, my apologies... It looked like Joan.

  • What a beautiful youtube video song that is for her

  • Vivien, Hedy, and Elizabeth-no actress will ever match their beauty.

  • Simplemente.. maravillosa

  • To me she is the best actress of all time. I look up to Vivien Leigh, she is my hero.

  • @iamhotstuff100 Vivien Leigh and Marlon Brando two of the most beautiful people Ever to walk this earth!

  • @Thesaeed23 I agree. Marlon is also gorgeous

  • my name is vivien :)

  • no one can play Scarlett O'hara like Vivien Leigh did

  • she had such a pretty smile and a snitty personality in Gone with the Wind

  • Most gorgeous woman ever, don't think I can rate anyone else as the number 1 beauty to have ever lived. Gorgeous in gone with the iwnd, but also in waterloo bridge

  • Looking at her face is like a glorious dream that you just do not want to wake up from.

  • The music at the end is NOT LAra's theme. It is Tara's theme. Well the music in the middle really.

  • @thelyonnaise1977 Yes, the music track must have been mis-labled at source.

  • what is the song on the end, it 's realy beautiful

  • @nessa1765 The music piece is 'Lara's Theme' (from 'Gone With the Wind') played by Henry Mancini and his Orchestra.

  • truly a 1 of a kind even thru out her illness she even said its not how she wanted to be known as defined by her beauty

  • I dore this woman!! She has such beauty and class! No women today can compare and neve will! A true GEM! God Bless! xx

  • Such a beautiful woman. When I think of the ladette culture that prevails today I get depressed. There are still women who appreciate their femininity, but if a man condemns the ladette culture he must be a 'dinosaur' or a 'sexist pig'

I will make no apology for appreciating a lady.

  • @WORLD8NSH5KNIGHT1 I agree with you and I am addicted to 1930s-1950s style so some of us still appreciate it. I'm so bored of modern women criticising men who do things the old fashioned way and dare I say women who are trying desperately to match men in absolutely EVERYTHING. Be ambitious but please remember you are a woman and embrace that, we are not supposed to be like men in everything. Vivien is one of my style icons and favourite actress ever.

  • @Goonerette89

Thankyou for your reply.... though I have to tell you I am actually a heterosexual man....

  • @WORLD8NSH5KNIGHT1 Oops haha I went off on one there, it is quite a strong opinion I have, that's why, but that actually makes me like your opinion even more - what a rarity of a modern male!! I miss all the old styles in men and women! Men who dressed as men and vice versa. Stylish people.

By the way, this music is absolutely gorgeous, just like Vivien.

  • @Goonerette89

    Haha... thats ok. And thankyou!

You sound like a classy lady

  • @WORLD8NSH5KNIGHT1 You're welcome and thank you, I hope so!

  • Not before, then, nor now was an actress more beautiful.

  • No actress before, then, or now was ever more beautiful.

  • Thanks for uploading this video. I think Vivien Leigh was the most beautiful actress during her time & even at the present time her beauty is unsurpassed by the movie actresses of this era. She's a very talented actress. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. May her soul rest in peace.

  • what a talent and what a beauty ! i'd love to buy or build a time-machine, travel back in time and see those wonderful actresses (Vivien Leigh, Ingrid Bergman, Katharine Hepburn, Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, etc.) in person :)

  • @Cosmic86x Me too

  • Jean Simmons resembled her more than anyone else. There were small differences though. Jean had a proportionately larger face, an imperfectly cut jawline, and didn't have Vivien's amazing neck; but was still very beautiful too. In my opinion, Elizabeth Taylor is the most beautiful, head to toe. I love Vivien best as an actress though and her voice is better than Elizabeth's.

  • Vivien Leigh is sooo beautiful

  • it's amazing to me how someone so beautiful and talented could be so troubled but shes still fabulous and GWTW is one of my all time faves x

  • @CinderellaConnie If she was not so beautiful and talented, she would not have had half of her trouble. there are too many ugly, talentless actresses that were far more successful than Vivien ever was. You know why? because as much as we love beauty, there are plenty of people who detest beauty.

  • no offense to Liz Taylor fans but I like Vivien better, I think she was more beautfiul and talented.

  • shes so modest looks woman on her days!

  • a very elegant and powerful woman with a perfect command of the English language....

  • @basilnelson can i just say that you amke the best videos of classic movie stars? XD seriously good job

  • Vivien was certainly beautiful but also suffered mental illness and died a terrible death by drowning in her own fluid as she had sufferred from turberculosis for many years. Sir Lawrence Olivier left her as she was so difficult to live with and threw many tantrums and rages.

  • sie war eine bild schöne frau...............

  • Miss Vivien, I just love everything about her!......

  • From India to the world. Ave Vivien!!!! Greetings from Trujillo, Peru.

  • She' s fantastic and beautiful: arched eybrows, green eyes and eternal smile. She 's one f a few actress (if not only) in Hollywood that reached perfection. You will still livein my heart (soul an memories) Rest In Peace dear Vivien

  • She is absolutely gorgeous.

  • god! she looked like the slimmer version Greta Garbo at 1:18

  • she was so beautiful and so talented actress.

wish we have this days actresses like her.

love her and gone with the wind,is one of my the best movies ever <3

  • pure talent, pure passion, pure life, pure Vivian..wow, what a woman, what an actress!

  • Ella reunía una belleza y un talento poco usuales, algo que muy pocas tuvieron.

Sin duda es una de las más grandes figuras del cine de todos los tiempos.

  • Beautiful actress! born in India to a British Cavalry Officer. Would he have imagined that his daughter will one day sweep the screen in Gone With the wind.

  • Consummate actress who never let drop dead beauty get in the way of her craft.

  • people think liz taylor is the most beautiful but the thing is she is the original. liz taylor was dubbed as little vivien when she was very young. if anyone thinks about it, it is vivien who is the original.

  • @arizonatheo Yes I agree. Both are gorgeous talented women.

    Regardless of who came first.

  • it is interesting, bc I read in Liz bio that when asked still young wHO was here MOST beautiful woman, she said "Vivien" ! :-) and she wanted to be like her, she studied her, her face, aspiring to have some of that beauty Vivien had. Although Liz was a great beauty, too

  • 1:46 I like the picture with the Siamese cat

  • She didn't die in a psychiatric ward, she died at her house in London from chronic TB which she'd had for years.

She was amazingly beautifu and talented but troubled as well

  • Vivian is beautiful but she had bi polar disorder and died and in psychiatric ward. How sad to go that way.

  • @silvermoon3333 She didn't die in a psychiatric ward! She was never even IN a psychiatric ward!

  • This is a lovely tribute and all I can say is I wish I looked like that!!! How beautiful was she! x

  • Vivien Leigh is my favorite actress.

She is a goddess in the 20th century!

  • I love Vivien Leigh! Her life is so dramatic like a movie and she is devastatingly beautiful! But above all she is a great actress!

  • thank you :D

    xxxx

  • whats the name of the firs ..song/melody?

    its so beautiful!!!!!!

  • The first piece of music is titled 'Ballade for Adeline' and is played by French pianist Richard Clayderman.

  • @basilnelson My Mom used to love Richard Clayderman. She had a few of his cassette tapes, in other words way the hell back in time.

  • If anyone saw her in the movie "gone with the wind then you know what i mean, she is terribley beautiful.

  • British India just waited for her to be born in India before leaving India to indians and decided to take her back to Britain. She has passed away for many years but still remember as a beautiful actress. God bless her. Khushy

  • Vivien looks like a perfect little porcelain doll

  • fantastic!!!!!!! amazing!! i love her!!!

and the music to it is fantastic

  • great video!

  • viviane i love u ur really amazing ur one of a kind no 1 will do scarlet character better than u ur the best :D

plz i wanna c her movies can any 1 tell me where 2 find them ?!

  • gone with the wind is a masterpiece

and vivien leigh is one of the biggest legends of the screen....i saw almost all her movies

  • Beautiful!!!!!! Love the part of gone with the wind pictures!

  • Impressive beauty. I would not call her looks "sexy" and exciting like BB or MM. Or Divine like Greta Garbo. Her beauty was more like when you stand in front of a painting, a masterpiece, and you are so much taken by what you have just seen that you truly understand the meaning of the word "inspiration".

  • She is so....fantastic beauty. My favourite...

  • loved gone with the wind..when i was little and first saw that movie, i practiced the eyebrow thing until i learned lol.......

  • Thanks for uploading. Vivien Leigh was one of the most beautiful actress they ever had in the century. Not only she's very beautiful, she's also talented. Her movies are unforgettable. May her soul rest in peace.

  • there has never been a beauty as true as Vivien Leigh in the last century. May her tormented soul rest in peace.

  • stunning

  • No surgery on anything. Like Myrna Loy and Hedy Lamarr, Vivien had the kind of perfect nose that plastic surgeons copied for decades. That's why it looks fixed. She was divinely beautiful and a great actress. Thank goodness they waited until she came along to cast Scarlett.

  • NICE PIC, BEAUTIFUL

  • Excellente.....congratulations.

  • Incredibly talented, beyond beautiful, simply amazing!!! the best actress of all time in my opinion...anyways, she had the most intriguing and difficult role as Scarlett O'Hara, and she delivered the most brilliant performance ever to be recorded on screen. No one could have done it better. Vivien Leigh, ur in my prayers, may you rest in peace.

  • When I hear the music from Gone with the Wind I get goose bump. Every time. Vivien was so incredible beautiful. No wonder she was called "the English rose". She was!

  • @LoveMarilynMonroe Same here! That music always makes the hairs on my spine rise! It's enchanting!

  • my daughter can do her eyebrow like that . . i think i might start calling her Vivien

  • Excellent !!!

  • so beutiful :´)

  • This lady is mad pretty.

It surprised me to find out that she was bipolar. Crazy how things go.

  • is it just me, or has she had surgery on her nose?

  • The most beautiful woman in movie history!

  • hear hear!!

  • Beautiful lady, for me the only two that compare are audrey hepburn and jean simmons.

  • I love Vivien Leigh.

  • indeed Vivien Leigh has something that few actresses had at her time...talent,the beauty...and the greatness if you want. no comparison with Kate Winslet at all

  • Very beautiful and talented actress.... she is one of the most memorable faces from hollywood and cinema worldwide......a real legend!!

  • No flies buzzin' around this chick!

  • In my modest opinion the best movie actress ever -among the many wonderful ones. She also had an exquisite beauty, very feminine and elegant, which reminds me of Miss Hedy Lamarr, the most gorgeous woman in motion picture.

  • what's the music at the beginning?

  • It's called 'Ballade for Adeline'.

  • she was so beautiful...and the movie too

  • cuales son las canciones que suenan?? una es la banda sonora de lo que el viento se llevo y la otra??? ayudarme pleaseee!!

  • The first song is "Ballade for Adeline" -Richard Clayderman.

The 2nd song is "Gone with the wind" theme.

  • beautiful video

  • 00.48

    She look sooooo BEAUITYFULL !

  • I LOVE Vivien Leigh! Although GWTW is my favorite movie of her's she was just PEFECT in every role I've seen her in (In my opinion she was the BEST Cleopatra as well). it's so sad people only see her as Scarlett O'hara. Mayra in Waterloo Bridge was SUCH an amazing role and so were all her roles. She was just a rare and amazing talent. It's so sad she was so unhappy :(.

  • She was born in Darjeeling, India and when her mother was pregnant with her,a local women told her that if she want to get birth to a beautiful child, she must look every morning to Kanchenjunga, a peak from Himalaya... I think she did a good job...

  • my favourite actress :D

    Good actress and beautiful woman.

  • 2nd Part to comment:

In my opinion old cameras should be used for portraits not newer ones as they capture to much unneeded detail eg bags.

    Old fashioned photos are gorgeous.

  • Im not sure If I'm the only person who thinks this but, in my opinion, although photographic cameras were not so top back then (did not capture small detail) I do think the photos were nicer. In Viviens photos you cant see any bags, wrinkles, lines or flaws of course because she was beautiful but also because the cameras back then didnt capture all those little details. My mums photos also look like Viviens, no flaws what so ever.

  • Superb actress! Her performance in Gone with the wind was remarkable. Beautiful women and amazing actress!

  • basilnelson: BAZ~~you've done it once again! Given us a video/audio & poignant tribute of Vivien Leigh! Such an amazing beauty & actress w/ too many demons held inside that took her from this mortal world too soon IMHO!

I can only hope her heart & soul rest in peace!

Thanks for keeping her memory alive with this video, Baz!

  • Vivien was incredible and exqisite actress, gorgeous person and I guess the most beautiful women who ever lived:)I just love her she's my idol:)<3

    greeting from Poland<3

  • perfect video tribute for a very beautiful woman...wish someone of her caliber will come out one day (in our lifetime)and reprise roles that brings a lasting impact on the audience as ms leigh had upon us...gone with the wind the real talents and artists ...america..i weep for thee...

  • excelly in the novel it is said that Scarlet Ohara wasnt a beautiful woamn. But for the movie they have choasen a tipical calssic neauty and that was totally a hit.Very beautiful woman, even more,I would say its an original beauty, rarely sees nowdays. She was born to do the role og Scarlet

  • I love Vivien!

  • Vivien was an incredible and gorgeous actress, gifted by the gods. Too bad she suffered from mental diseases that at the time were ignored.

    Hugo

  • she was such an incredible, no BEYOND incredible actress!!!!!!!!!

  • My God she is beautiful!!!!! After Gone with the wind you just got to love her! Her story is amazing, nobody knew her when she decided to play Scarlett, and after a few years, everyone knew who she was! So I admire her and I love her!!! Love you Vivien! <3<3<3<3

  • que gran actriz

  • love her always a STAR x i read again!lol that larry before he died like 8yrs was watching one of her films and said to his friend 'that was this was love' that was the real thing' cause im a hopeless romantic i kinda like to think of them together now u could see in there eyes how much they loved each other and in interviews his eyes kinda lit up when talking of her stars together always x or so i like to think!lol and she was beautiful!

  • she was so pretty!!!!!!

  • This video is just amazing! Vivien is the best actress ever!

  • The most beautiful actress of her day and today. The women today can't touch her except Kate Winslet both are my dream girls thanks for sharing.

  • Well, your comment is surprising. Kate Winslet can be compared to Vivien Leigh in term of talent if you like, but in term of beauty, it's impossible ! Kate and Vivien are just not in the same league. Kate is a very average looking girl, the kind of girl next door. Vivien is just zilion times more beautiful, no comparision possible. Vivien is incredibly beautiful, I can't think of any women more beautiful than her, on earth and of all times.

  • @icebabe75 I agree. Vivien Leigh is in fact one of the most beautiful actresses I've ever seen.

And also, I think that actresses from the 1930's were altogether much better-looking than actresses today.

Just look at Megan Fox or Jessica Alba as examples. They may be two of the most beautiful actresses of our generation, but they have NOTHING on people like Vivien Leigh, Elizabeth Taylor, or Audrey Hepburn when they were in their prime.

  • @icebabe75 I agree. Actresses today are merely cute, average, or pretty. There's nothing really special about their looks at all...

Actresses back in the 1930's, like Vivien Leigh, were beautiful beyond belief.

  • @icebabe75 and Winslet is convincingly easy, as in sexually available whereas Leigh had a steely sensuality and pride that can't be tainted

  • so nice............I like it and I love her

  • This is beautiful.....thank you

  • gorgeous face and great classic actress.(:

  • Tpday's actress can only dream of having such an amazing, beautiful and expressive face on the screen. To me she's the best english/american actress ever!

  • wow, a Goddess of Beauty, ain't she?

  • she was born to play Scarlet, i imagined her just like this :)

  • YES,SHE WAS...

  • I completely agree. According to close firends of Vivien and movie producers she was very much like Scarlett O'Hara, very much.

  • the most beautiful person to have ever lived. And my favorite actress.

    I love Vivien!!

  • My favorite actress.

  • Another fantastic presentation of the great Hollywood goddesses by Basil. I love the manner in which he changes the music to accompany "Gone with the Wind". I just saw Vivien and Robert Taylor in "Waterloo Bridge". A devastatingly sad ending, but great performance. Thanks Basil for the memories of another great talent.

  • OMG her Myra character was amazing wasn't it? You completely forgot about her being Vivien Leigh and got completely lost in her character and their relationship. I cried like a baby at the end :(

  • Yes, and I cannot help but think how much the female has changed. I mean, today the gal would say something like "Yeah, I had to do what I had to do, so live with it!" Decency, morals, and ethics have been replaced with vulgarity, crudity, and shamelessness. Thanks for the comment. I agree! This happens to be one of my most favorite films.

  • No one can match her talent and beauty she contributed to the movie business...she is truly missed.

  • Thank you for this magnificent upload...

  • truly exquisite. it is so sad how tortured she was

  • lovelly

  • Once again, you have captured the magic that was the "silver screen" and I thank you!

  • Your beauty shines forever! I miss you dearly!

  • Beautiful clip

  • Vivien was captivating on screen, such lovely images. Beautiful selection of music as well. Thank you for such a glorious tribute.

  • Very Beautiful. :)

  • Great TRIBUTE to Vivien Leigh!!

    Thank you so much.

    Deketelaere-Ciccione
