Who the fuck thinks 2D is dead? Where did this come from exactly? SNES lasted till 1999 in Japan, Wonderswan, Neo Geo Pocket, Neo Geo, Gameboy Color, Advance and DS are all 2D systems....there is tons of 2D games on Wii, PS3, Xbox live etc. Even people look at Donkey Kong Country R like it's some miracle there is a 2D/3D game. Um...okay...time for gamers to get their heads out of the asses.

BTW Contra 4 Sucks. It was a giant bomb. Hard Corps Uprising is much better.

I know this game has a 2 player option, and some unlockables. 2 questions though:

A) Can you only play 2-player if both players have the game, or can you "DS Download Play?"

B) I hear the unlockables include the first 2 "Contra" games. Is this true, and is it hard to unlock them?

@wassup986 need a second cart for 2 player and both the original games are included but they are the nes versions..buy konami arcade classics for a perfect port of the original arcade contra.

I also have another minor flaw to point out: You can't beat the sixth boss without a fast weapon, meaning that if you have slow weapons weapons, you have no choice but to let yourself die because the regular gun is too slow. That goes for the scatter shot, flame thrower and rocket launcher. Not 100% on the heat seeker. All I know is that thing isn't always 100% accurate. At least the flaws people can bring up for this game are real flaws, not like IRATE who said the difficulty level was a flaw.

umm yes you CAN beat the 6th boss with scatter shot, rocket launcher and regular gun...

you just have to mash harder or time your button presses if u're using the rocket launcher

ALSO there's a button that allows you to toss your current weapon if you don't want it...

Kougerman22: definitely get this game. The thing is...it will kick your ass. But I don't say that in a condescending tone at all. I literally told people when I got it "I'm looking forward to it kicking my ass." Just cuz like any Contra game it's gonna take you a while to get used to the fast paced nature. But once you do you can appreciate how awesome it is and also play the first two Contra games all on one little DS card. Get it...and enjoy.

You might want to try your hand at the originals first. The reason I say this is because even though there is an easy mode, if you decide to move up to normal, you'll frequently want to break your DS in half because it gets that hard. This coming from someone who has played the series for it's entire 20 year run.

Great review, I love the game to and it was a great take back to nastalgia. The game was very short and I wish they added a bit more innovation to advance to series. It's great and it's much MUCH better than Neo Contra.
