Truest scene ever filmed. I once had to give a speech like this to a girl - and I do mean HAD TO (you know what I mean if you've ever been in love) - and hearing my own feelings and experiences spoken by this character a few years later was amazing. No matter what else Kevin Smith has done, I would call him a genius for this scene alone.

So, basically, you should lie about your true feelings to the person you're in love with for at least a few months? So much for honesty being the foundation of any successful relationship. Women constantly gripe about guys not being open enough. A lady worth being with wouldn't "freak out" or be "scared away" when a man finally lets her in.
I know everybody loves "Clerks," and it's a classic, but I really think that this is Kevin Smith's best film by far. It's definitely one of Affleck's best too.
it's called chasing amy because of the story silent bob told to holden about his relationship with a girl named amy before. in the end alyssa and holden's relationship ended up the same and that's why the movie and the comic in the end were named chasing amy.
