Hey. I just bought a "grow your own tobacco" kit in a little tin. I live in england and was just wondering if these will grow on my window ledge if I plant them now? (winter) or shall I wait until spring? thanks.
why do you need to go through all this work and time just to smoke? Its easier to just buy the tobacco from the store already made from the still in a few minutes instead of wating months like this..
I then know that there are not additives or pesticides used on the product. I am grow this for pipe smoking and want to know what I am smoking. Plus I like to produce my own things just like we also have a garden that produces all of our food.
@TheManFromAlaska I agree. Moreover, one can also hybridize different strains via cross-pollination. Growing, harvesting, and curing tobacco is a time honored tradition. What would happen when you cross Nicotiana tabacum with N. rustica or vise versa? I too would like to know what I am smoking. I dislike processed tobacco. Growing your own puts YOU in control.
Great video! I am sharing this one with my friends. Thank you for posting this.
@tatomuck18 it makes more sence its more of a hobby to grow your own its really cheap and fun for people that have patience and love enjoying something they put alot of effort into =)
hey man i have seeds, i put some soil in a shot glass, sprinkled some seeds on top nd kept them moist with a misting bottle, and didnt get anything. i also have CFL grow bulbs, so any help would be apprecitaed. i need to know how to germinate because i had no luck
is this virginia plants?? Im planning to grow some myself, i want to smoke with my shisha pipe. Which curing method is best because im gona be drenching it in flavors and glycerin. Thank you or your help.
It was Shirazi tobacco. I would make a homemade curing chamber. After you cure it then case it with your flavor and press it. Slice to your desired size and enjoy smoking it. Good Luck.
Hey I got a quick question when I keep em in the little pots how often do i move em from indoors to the outside/sun because I heard after you put the seeds down you keep em indoors then occasionally put em outside and when there a dime size I move em to a pot and keep em outside constantly or what. And what type soil are you using? Just regular pottin soil with a mix of some fertilizer or what? Thanks I subed and 5* as well
I kept mine inside until about a week ago. Then they went outdoors to harden off and just stayed out constantly. They started growing much better after they went outside. I am using SPHAGNUM PEAT MOSS mixed with vermiculite. Be sure to fertilize it with some sort of organic fertilizer. Since I am smoking this plant I do not want any nasty chemicals, so everything is organic. That is why I do not use potting soil, because it is not recommend for plants that will get consumed.
Search Google for "Tobacco Seeds" and it will pull up about 8 suppliers. I forgot exactly where I got these seeds though. I got in trouble for listing companies last time on here, so that is all I will say about that.
Nice!!! dude, Didnt know you were into tobacco alot, I'm a pipe smoker as well and cigar smoker, tell me whats your guys tobacco taxe in alaska ? pipe tobacco.
good video, thanks . i got a grow area set up in my basement but ive been hung up on getting the seeds. im looking forward to getting started with this.
These ones never worked out. I started them way too early and they got too cold at one point and died. It was just an experiment. I started a new batch today. We will see how they work this time. This time they are under a light, and have a heater pad underneath. Good luck with your efforts.
I honestly don't have any suggestions for specific types. Tobacco growing is new to me. I would just check various suppliers an email them and ask. That is what I will be doing this week. These I started way too early and they died. So I will be starting over.
Where are you? If you are in the US there are numerous companies that sell them here. Google "tobacco seeds", and that will pull up a dozen or so dealers. Good luck.

Why? If you ask 'why', you obviously don't get the point of growing things yourself.
Growing tobacco is one of the 'freedoms' we still have. So why not?

My pipe tobacco comes for a shop in Anchorage, and comes via 2 ounce packages. The tax is included so I don't know how much was tax or tobacco.

how long do you have to cure tobacco for cigarettes because i was reading you have to cure it for 6 months is that true
azza7717 1 year ago
@azza7717
If you have a curing chamber it can be done to perfection in 3-4 weeks.
TheManFromAlaska 1 year ago
how much tobacco can you get from about 50 plants
azza7717 2 years ago
@azza7717
Depending on he tobacco variety you can get anywhere from 2-6 oz of dried processed tobacco. So for your 50 plants you would get 100 to 300 ounces.
