  • Good way to kick your brand new bike over LMAO

  • Just like a car then thanks was a great help :)

  • Is it possible to start with a bike that big? I want to ride a big bike!

  • thanx man this has helped me so much :)

  • I thought i was the only person who had a daytona :)

  • @YamahaR6isthebest beautiful bike. couldn't resist lol

  • lol i once watched someone get on his bike exactly like u did and by accident kicked it over LOL ahhh funny stuff

  • @adiosk8erxxx lol that... sucks. i usually swing my leg over like a normal person would, but yeah i was too busy talking to the camera =x hope the bike is okay! lmao

  • im about to get a 89 ninja 600, and ive never ridden a motorized bike b4 lol, but this vid did help out a ton, and answered alot of my questions

  • kool

  • thanks

  • Comment removed

  • good

  • Thanks a ton man! great video, great job, great help!...thank you!

  • I watched this video 2 days ago when I got my first ninja 250 and this helped me a ton. Thank you for posting

  • @klocc23 congratulations lol thank you.

  • you need some knee pads mate!

  • @titanium1228 lol no joke. too bad i found out AFTER i made this vid. I have some now though xD

  • @titanium1228 lol no joke. too bad i found out AFTER i made this video. I have some now though xD

  • [continue my question] sr it seems to long

,.....when i stop my bike at high speed [about 50 mph, e.x]

some more question[ can you answer it , pretty please, hope u still there]

    A. ism my bike moving when i release the clutch at Neutral lever

    B. is it ok when i shift 2 number [lever] at the same time, like from 1->N->2 or 4->5->6

C.is that necessary to grab the clutch when use the brake

and one more, do you a yahoo or AIM acc, becuz i still have more ?? for you

so can you plz help me, iL MotorC.

  • hello sir, i just have some question about the front brake and rear brake [is that called panel brake too????] and the clutch lever

yeah all i want to ask is about timing [when] we should use the brake

do i should shift to N when stop or just grab the front brake or rear brake [which one is more convenient..????, the brake brake too, front or gear??]

something gonna happen if grab the clutch and the brake at the same time

and something happen if i grab both brakes at the same time when topmybike

  • @setamakoto Panel brake, idk. Just know your right foot controls the rear brake.

Use the brake(s) only while traveling in straight lines and/or on a hill (not while turning).

No, you don't shift into neutral to stop. You have the choice to do so AFTER you have already stopped though. Your overload of question marks... makes me think you're like 16. I'm gonna stop it here because it is very obvious that you need to take the safety course. Take it and pass. If you have questions, come back.

  • this is like practicing on how to fly a fuckin plane...... FOR GOD SAKE , JUST FUCKIN DO A WHEELIE AND CRASH OR DO SOMETHIN FUN TO SEE IF U KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!!

  • Hey Jimmy. Are you going to show the rookies how to lean and countersteer?

  • @iTziLLUMY give me a bike and I might.... lol i was never very good at it though, honestly

  • Hawaii ? Cool thanks for the tips :)

  • how do you know what gear you're on? you might forget when riding right?

  • @nuocmat most modern sportsbikes have the gear number shown on the cluster. if there isn't one... idk. the gear is just a number. you could be going 70mph in 1st gear or 6th gear, however finding the "correct" one to be on is more based on preference and feel (in my opinion). just can't be the loser going 50mph at 9k rpm all over the place cuz then you look really stupid.

  • @nuocmat if you forget you can just hold in the clutch and shift up to 6 then count down to what gear you want to be in.

  • HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU AFFORD A TRIUMPH 675 THATS MY DREAM BIKE!!!

  • @Yanooshka yeaahhh i was pretty broke after i bought it. waited like 3 months to save up to get frame sliders *facepalm* lol but damn, it was worth it.

  • @DimSumJim your so lucky man!

  • Nice vid, my friend. Very well done. You seem to be quite a natural instructor. All the best.

  • do u always need to be n neutral at a stop light?

  • @mmaspecs definitely not. however, at long stop lights, it would be preferred in the case that you don't want to be holding in your clutch for a whole 1-2 minutes. it'll eventually get tiring at every red light. for shorter stops, you should stay in gear. also stay in gear when you're on stops that are on slopes/hills.

  • @mmaspecs It is also safer in case you get rear ended.

  • Great video man, I'm buying my first bike sunday from a friend who's leaving to go into the army, it's an 06 ninja 250, perfect starter bike. Great explanation of all the basics, keep it up!

  • im planing on getting a bike i never been in one tho.. but i wanna learn before i get it..i got a question when ur about to stop u pull in the cluch and shift down right?

  • @MyAztecs yes. also, if there is a class available for motorcycle safety that you can find near your area, i think that would be the best way to answer any/all the questions you may have about the basics of riding.

  • ahhh u live by me!!!! i live in kaimuki!!! my cousins go to kalani hahaha oh man thats awesome i live in washington now but i mean damn i miss home =\

  • @Ghost096 ahhh small island lol that's cool. i went kalani too. you at washington for school? i loved it up there when i went this past winter! lil too cold, but still good! lol

  • very informative video demo dude...

japanese loves beaches man.. hawaii is their paradise :D

  • @MEtAlDRiCh0689 thank you. yes, they do! lol can't get a real tan back at home because of their tall buildings xD

  • @DimSumJim haha yeah.. im living here in japan and most of my japanese workmates have been to hawaii.. btw man.. can you make a stationary video showing your foot actually shifting gears? it would be really great.. hehehe

  • how much for the bike

    u got

  • @johnnydrack1 around 11k. it was about the dumbest thing I did cuz I WANTED the sucker REAL bad... lol don't rush xD save some money... or else you're gonna have to consider your motorcycle purchase an "expensive learning experience" like i did.

  • Thank you Dim sum Jim for u support

I was having grate time to watche u video I love be in motorcycle And I am gatting my perments licens very sooooooooooon

  • @DimSumJim thanks man I will, but it'll be a while before i turn 16 though. :(

  • Hey dimsum, im 15 turning 16 and im 5 ft 6 145 lbs and I was wondering if I take an MSF or MSC here in Canada would a Honda CBR600RR be a good starter bike for me after I graduate? If you could give me a suggestion that would be great :)

  • @IR0NMAIDEN12 you'll probably be able to decide after you get a feel from the 100-150cc bikes in class. However, because of your age, I can't say yes to the 600rr. I know you probably want it, so just keep me updated on your license & course experience and we can probably guestimate what bike you're ready for after.

  • thanks for the vid will help out allot when I learn

  • @jthuggamk3 np. thanks for your support

  • @DimSumJim no prob helps us new guys out allot

  • Hey man. Ok I'm actually heavily contemplating whether or not I should buy the 2011 Ducati 848. I've never even ridden a motorbike before but I'm getting ready to buy one [very] soon and learn. So since seem sportbike-savvy, do you think it's a good idea for me to get that as a beginner's sports bike!? Thanks!

  • @HeRsHeYsKiSsz umm... I don't think that's a good idea at all, but who am I to stop you? It's just my job to warn you that learning on such an expensive bike is going to break your heart the day you drop it. The 848 is not the usual beginner sportbike. You'll be surprised how fast these bikes initially feel. You have the rest of your life to impress the ladies. Keep yourself alive first.

  • TapSumBong

  • You mount your bike like a ninja. Good vid man.

  • @thejanimus lol mahalo... i suppose.

  • Great videos, man. Most informative and instructional videos I've seen. And I ain't being sarcastic lol. I'm going to learn how to ride a bike so I can buy one myself. I also recently learned how to drive a manual car and this isn't much different. Seems a lot easier actually. I can't wait to buy my own bike. Hopefully, I can afford the same one you got because that shit is hot lol.

  • @emeljipuroo hmm? not recently, I assume... I haven't seen my 675 for a year now

  • @DimSumJim what happened to it?

  • @gunnaboy70217 t-boned. then, sold at an insurance auction.

  • @DimSumJim

    sux bro.

    what are u on now?

or did you say fk motorcycles..lol

  • @gunnaboy70217 not on anything. I've been borrowing bikes once in a while from friends/family but that's about it. parents are scared for my life when I'm not.... really scared for my own lol I'll buy a new bike after i buy/rent my own place to live xD

  • @DimSumJim

lol i hear you.. thnks for the quick responses ..

    laterr

  • So, if I've understood correctly, the manual control of the gears depends on how high your RPM's are running.

I've heard that you should never shift when turning. Then the tuning down of speed there must be done by pulling in the clutch (and maybe little foot break?), right?

  • @TheDarkPan ehh... you can shift at lower rpms. I only went up to 6k for display purposes. you'll know when you get on. I think 3k - 3.5k is a normal shifting point.

I wouldn't footbrake while turning. Unless you're trying to pull a stunt for a movie or something. I would just pull in the clutch. Always brake BEFORE the turn (while traveling in a straight line) so you won't have to worry about this issue.

  • @Beriaal i think my inseam is like 30 - 31. only people under around 5'5 have to worry about being too short, i think (that's just from what i've seen, anyway).

  • make $8+ a day in less then a month NO SKILLS /watch?v=BMPhsRN19Ms

  • Once you mentioned you were in Hawaii and pointed out Diamond Head i knew exactly which hill you were talking about for "your nightmare" lol. Theres ALOT of bikers / people on mopeds in Hawaii.

  • good vids man

  • i commented not to long ago about getting a pulse but im now getting a aprilia rs 125 full power :)

  • @fireflame199 lol cool. hopefully you'll find it enjoyable.

  • @DimSumJim lol i got the rs 125 and sold it about a hour after buying it but i have played it safe and got myself a honda cbr 125r 10 plate :)

  • @fireflame199 lol dang... you must be one hell of a sales person xD the cbr 125r seems like a pretty fun toy. i don't think they let us ride those in the US or maybe just Hawaii, idk = T but damn, that's awesome lol

  • after watching a few videos i feel as though i understand most of the stuff that gets you moving(from stop to start moving) in the start but my only concerns are when you actually get going...for example when you shift up do you need to give it throttle right away(as you release the clutch) or can you Shift->let go of clutch completely->apply throttle . Also, lets say, when you shift into second can you just release the clutch or do you have to do it slowly while applying throttle.

  • @rockNrolla028 if you shift up... you don't have to give it throttle right away (in most cases), but it's highly recommended. As for your example, when you shift into second, you can just release the clutch. It's only starting in first gear... or while holding the brake is when you risk stalling (usually). When you start to shift into 3,4,5,6 you might not even need your clutch, but you can save that for once you get comfortable shifting WITH the clutch.

  • @DimSumJim good to know. Also when you do brake are you braking, holding down the clutch and down shifting all at the same time? or are there different ways of doing all those depending on your situation...i.e. coming to a complete stop vs. slowing down in traffic (but not fully stopping).

I'm thinking about getting a ninja 250 next summer and then upgrading to a ninja 600 or ninja zx6r the summer after that. Any thoughts?

  • @rockNrolla028 it's something you'll learn in class, but generally, yes, that's always what's going to happen. Applying both brakes with the clutch pulled in and... down shifting. Just... NEVER do it while turning.

I think that's a fair schedule. The 250 is a good bike to start on... zx-6r is pretty damn good. Just make sure you save enough for a good set of tires for when you make the switch to a 600. It'll make your ride safer... smooth, and more fun. good luck

  • i thank you im doing my cbt next thursday and i have a kawasaki gpz 500s but it's too big for me to ride on a cbt with the laws in the uk so i was thinking of getting a pulse adrenaline, and thank you your vid has gave me 100% more confidence for my cbt and shown me how much easier it is compaired to what i was thinking :)

  • @fireflame199 Pulse looks like something fun to hop on. Good luck! Thanks for watching = )

  • Thanks man..I'm really nervous about the exam..someone told me if I can't drive stick I can't ride a motorcycle..is it true? I know the test is different from state to state, was it hard for you?

  • @MrJuniorluc PFFT. i've never driven stick in my LIFE. they're lying. do NOT be scared. They'll teach you everything you need to know. you just need to understand the concept of a manual vehicle. the test was easy from what i remember. the only part i didn't do too well on was... stopping lol that and really close turns? you'll get the hang of it though. be confident. look where you want to go.

  • @MrJuniorluc Ive never driven stick either. I learned how to ride a bike and learned how to drive a big truck (stick) afterwards.

Its easier to learn to ride a bike first, gives you experience with a clutch.

  • hey dim..after countless of fight my girlfriend agrees to let me for my motorcycle license ( she care about my safty) the problem is i dont know which bike to buy..website say kawasaki ninja 250 is a good starter bike, my friend tell me no. he want me to get asuzuki 650..im 5 11 and weight 155...what would you suggest?

  • @MrJuniorluc well, thank goodness your girlfriend cares lol I'm happy you found such a nice girl BEFORE getting on a motorcycle. Secondly, I think the 250 is... a good starter, but you'll probably think otherwise AFTER you finish the safety course. The SV650 is a fairly good bike too so, if you take the class... and you're not happy with how fast those go, the 650 may be a good choice. You shouldn't think too much about it right now. Make your decision later (after you get your license).

  • how tall are you?

  • @strikeanywherematchs 5'7" on a good day... lol 5'6" on a sad one

  • @DimSumJim okay thanks for the quick response, im 6 2, do you think thatd be too tall for a bike similar to this one? or a honda cbr 600? ninja 350?

  • @strikeanywherematchs depends on your inseam. I think generally.. a 34 - 35 inch inseam would sit comfortably on... a motorcycle. any less, and you'll have to adjust your body to it... any more and.. i have no idea cuz i've never met anyone that tall lol

  • how to choice a bike if im 6'5 lol i been told to get a 600 but i dont fit well.. but i been told to get a 750cc idk but i got 2k to spend..

  • @RandomPick12 well... a bigger engine might not make it any more comfortable for you to ride... so don't be suckered into buying faster bike. it depends what you mean by "don't fit well" for 2k... it is outrageously hard to find a bike you might like. my suggestion is... find a bike with a ride height close to your inseam maybe? then since you have a 2k limit, you can look up insurance auto auctions on the internet and see what insurance companies have for sale in your area.

  • Do u need a motorcycle liscense to ride one??

  • @SelenaGomezfan252 from what I heard, no. BUT the process to get your license is probably only 3-5 days. You take the motorcycle safety course (road and written test included - 2 to 3 days). If you pass, then all you need is to take your permit test (unless you already have it - 1 day). Plus, the $200 you spend on class is fairly cheap cuz eventually, you'll be paying much more than that in excess through your insurance premium since it's like 15% more expensive without a license.

  • Good informative video man!! Two thumbs up!! Im looking for a bike to begin with im about 6'5 and 240. What do you suggest? I Have a 4 wheeler that has a clutch and gears to go thru so im used to shifting gears. Excellent video again!!!

  • @dkhill27 dang you people make me feel like a midget... lol 6'5" and 240 would do well on majority of the newer 600 bikes... with the cbr 600 excluded (i have a few friends who mention they're a bit slower than the others). I think... because you're a little over twice my weight, again, zx6r, r6(high-rev or s), daytona 675, or gsx-r 600 (2011) would be enjoyable for you. If you're buying used, stay away from GSX-R 600s and CBR 600s. Might not be too happy with performance. wear your gear = ) GL!

  • Great video, thanks for posting

  • Great video, thanks for posting

  • @DimSumJim Hey dude, great video. With rising gas prices and spending xlose to 500 a month for gas im about to buy a bike and prolly gonna start with the ninja 250. Considering ive never rode a bike, im really not wanting all the power out the gate. Im 6'4 270. Am i to big for thus bike?

  • @jcdemarco75 wow... yeah the gas prices are only gonna get worse from here, i think. umm the 250... does sound too small for you (in my opinion). 6'4" is a fairly good height though... your best bet is asking the dealer/seller if you can just sit on it... if you've never ridden before, I can't be of TOO much assistance because I'd be pushing you up towards bigger bikes with stronger suspension to support the weight comfortably (probably not the safest choice). sorry good luck though

  • hey sweet video man what would be the best sportbike for a girl im 5'6 and weigh 140lbs i was raised on bikes but harleys and i want a crotchrocket instead :)

  • @jenniferl9 ummm if you're an experienced rider, i have a friend who is... 5'4" who said she felt most comfortable on a GSX-R 750 or CBR 600 (not something I'd ride, but if you're concerned about height, there's the easy solution). Another choice would be... (and I don't really recommend this) to install/have a professional install a lowering link to lower the bike. Finally, you can have the suspension tuned to your weight (highly recommended). Otherwise, most s-bikes are around the same height.

  • cool bike! from the back i'd say it's a cbr, but the front doesn't match. what bike is it?

  • @Poltergeyst daytona 675

  • you got a SPORTBIKE!and SPORTBIKE ENGINES have low torque in low rpms (wich meens, very smooth aceleration in low rpm) , and SPORT BIKES aren't HEAVY!, I have to freaking practice on a bike from 1998, that weighs 250Kg, and has a massive 1200 torque engine! xD i went up a ramp that has around 30 degrees(being 0 degrees horizontal) of inclination and i did it on 2000rpm with only 1 meter of ground to get momentum. now, THAT'S HARD!

  • @Poltergeyst lol wow... yeah true, but a guy my size (barely over 100 pounds) everything is heavy =x hahh

  • @DimSumJim *.* wow, you're.... small xD i'm 16 Y.O. and 160 pounds

  • @Poltergeyst yeah.. my friend's little brother is the same way around your age too lol but in my defense... it's in the genes >.> i can't gain weight even if i ate fast food 3 times a day 7 days a week = T

  • @DimSumJim xD you're average i guess. i have lots of friends with the same age that are tiny. i eat a lot (not fast food only, i eat a lot of everything) and although my weight raises, i never seem to get fat. i just get higher! muahahahhaha

  • i just got done witching your vadios they are very good

  • I'm 17 and I use to race motocross bikes ( dirt bikes ) I'm getting a 2011 250cc Kawasaki ninja next month . I'm excited if u can find me on face book cause I have a few questions . Branden kidder . Thx

  • @beatdownassassin cool... congratulations! umm you can just message me here if you like... i try to keep my facebook private =x sorry

  • @beatdownassassin dude i'm gonna be getting a motorcycle in a couple months, i was gonna get a 250 too. But i'm hearing you'll get bored of it fast. especially if you have any experience riding, 250 is gonna be a baby bike. Like look at dimsumjim he started on a 675. I think i'll get a gsxr 600. but under 1000.

  • How many miles per gallon does the daytona 675 get?

  • @larrymcjones I used to get... 32 city... maybe 38-42 highway, but it's probably possible to get more... Hawaii traffic is horrible.

  • @DimSumJim Are you riding again yet? I crashed my r6 last summer and I plan to ride again in April.

  • @trumpet5432 I plan to... just once; soon. A good friend passed away and I'm borrowing a bike to ride... to i guess pay my respects? The thing about riding is, you'll always have family waiting for you to come back. So, good luck getting back on and I hope everything works out better the second time around. Be safe. take care.

  • lol nice triumph

  • @MOLOKAIBO1 mahalos

  • Is this in hawaii?

  • @MOLOKAIBO1 yessir... oahu

  • How fast does the bike go when you let go of the clutch all the way?

  • @xGeemaa I would say... 5-8mph. not FAST, but enough that if someone was by your side, they could powerwalk/jog... (and this is without giving any gas).

  • brah this video is sick brah, i knew that was hawaii

good learning experience right there.. mahalos

  • @kaneala86 lol thanks for your support

  • Great video! I'm trying to learn right now

  • what about going down a bill hill? do you downshift to stay in the speed limit?

  • @Invisiblepanda what's a bill hill? i will honestly say it's too difficult and troublesome to other traffic behind you if you go down a hill at the speed limit. you can stay in high gear and just roll... or low gear and use the throttle a little bit, but either way, the only thing you should really be worried about is cars pulling out without looking and maybe the police officer at the bottom of the hill lol so slow down once you get towards the bottom... not so much at the top.

  • Thanks this videos was very helpful! I lurned alot more about riding, I'm looking into buying a street bike myself! Thanks

  • Now when you take a corner from a stop sign, whether it be left or right, are you saying stay in the friction zone with the clutch until you come out on the straight?? And when you take a curve (which is dffrnt than cornering) I should never go into the friction zone but rather close the throttle, shift down as I approach and use throttle control as I excelerate out?? Is that correct?

  • @SV4020 Basically, yes. I'm not saying that's the proper way to do it, though. That's just how I used to ride (especially on hills -- easy to stall).

As for the curve question, I agree. Approaching the curve (while still going straight) is the only time you should be slowing down. Constant throttle through the turn, into the apex, and then a STEADY increase in throttle coming out. Ripping it while you're still turning MIGHT cause you to lowside. I used to take all turns slowly though so idk lol

  • @DimSumJim OK. Thanks. And as most here, I'm a newbey as well. My first bike is gonna be a Ninja 600 a friend is selling to me. So I don't expect or want to go very fast on any corners or curves until I have practice enough and gotten more comfortable. I hope you get a new bike and make more videos. You are very easy to understand.

  • I really like that bike. I like Triumphs anyway. And you rarely see the sport version of one. Very nice indeed.

  • i want a bike :''(

  • @sooksooken me too. lol but "wanting" usually doesn't do any good. I recommend just... thinking of how you'll get one vs. how you don't have one xD

  • @DimSumJim dude i dream of bikes... so many of them in my country st.lucia (caribbean island) but they are so darn expensive... like a tenere 1986 model.. 600cc.. for 6gs.... a freaking 1986 yamaha tenere.. i might just go work with a bike store and see if i can get a bike as my first paycheck... althou... i can trade u somthing for your bike... i give you... my girl friend.. deal?

  • @sooksooken oh wow... that IS expensive.

hahahaha you know, i think i would take that deal if i still had my bike. Love can last a lifetime. If you don't find a bike to ride, just ride your gf ; D

  • @DimSumJim :O! where is it? i had already packed her in a box with packing peanuts... she's no fun riding.. she doenst make the same noises the bike makes.. she's only in high gear... and when i want to hit 100 miles she breaks down and needs to be oiled.. xD! kidding..

  • @sooksooken lol t-boned into a car... someone else owns it as a track bike maybe... salvaged title. hahaha man hopefully it'll get better with her.

  • @DimSumJim say wat? dang man.. my brother has a yamaha fz6 fazer! i might get my hands on it! he's hiding it from me... i'ma bikenap that bike..

  • 2:00 isn't that consuming your cluth little bit? (JUST ASKING).. if not, when do you actually consume your clutch, and what should you to in order to make it last longer ? thx

  • @pcgamesolution You make a good point. However the clutch doesn't wear as easily in a motorcycle as it does when you're driving a car (in comparison). An activity like this one done over the span of a couple minutes should actually be fine. After this "exercise" you will return to normal riding which requires doing this in a much wider interval. If you're worried about the clutch, you can always just buy a bike that comes standard with a slipper clutch or get one installed. They are much better.

  • i wish i had someone to talk to me when i drive lol

  • @13tharealest yeah, I totally recommend the MSF course for that

  • Good Video... But how to shift the gear back to neutral?

  • @murasame03 well, if you're at a stop (which I hope you would be) downshift to first (if you haven't already). Then, while the clutch is still pulled in, you can slowly lift your gear shift lever half a click. If you accidentally shift into second (pull it up too far), push it back down to first and try again (it's usually easier after the second try). You can also go into neutral from second, but that's really up to you. Same concept, but reversed.

  • @DimSumJim Ooh... Ok.. Thanks man..

  • Good Video man... Thanks!!! I'm just getting into motorcycles so this helps alot... Thanks man!!!

  • @GuanajuatenseTV cool. thanks for the comment. good luck!

  • Very interesting. :) I like how you ride carefuly, most watchers just wants to see speeding up without thinking about their lives. =] I'm thinking into riding, too. That's why I watched your videos.

  • @Katjablonder thanks = ) stay safe!

  • @DimSumJim You're welcome. haha I'll say, that I don't know much about motorcycles, but... the first thing that comes to my mind was about China trademarks. So I really hope to see a video like yours and it happen just liek that! :DDD

  • good video!!!

  • ok say if you mount the bike from the left, and you lose your balance, you and the bike are going to fall over and the bike can land on top of your leg, if you mount the bike from the right and you lose your balance you will fall over the bike. That is why the kick stand is for as well as standing the bike in its original position. That is why you should mount the bike from the right side, the Right side no need to shout, just trying to help

  • @325sp Sorry, I understand the point that you're coming from, but if someone has such bad balance that they'll fall down trying to get on, they probably don't belong on that bike whether it's some ridiculously low riding hog or a tall sports bike. You have to put much more effort into swinging a leg over the right side of the bike. It's only worth it during certain circumstances like if you're parked on a street with a strong gutter slope or some dumb moped parked too close to the left.

  • Mount the bike on the right side not the left. Think about it .

  • @325sp I said, "you want to mount your bike FROM the left side" If I said, "mount your bike ON YOUR right side," it'd mean the same thing. If YOU wanna mount your bike from the right side, that's your choice.

  • Nice fonts (:

  • hey man nice Daytona, im about the same height as you i guess, did u have to lower your bike?

  • @andrew26348 nah. i didn't lower. it was actually a little hard to get used to at first, but tuning your suspension to your weight should do a good enough job. I just stopped on one foot most of the time. unless the road is totally flat, i'll tip-toe.

  • @DimSumJim kool thanks man, really want the Daytona to be my second bike

  • @andrew26348 no problem. good luck. ride safe

  • Yo dimsum. cud u go into more detail about going up hill.

Im a new bike rider and i ALWAYS stall on big steep hills/driveways :( it's embarassing.

Im at a stop light and i have my front brake applied... light turns green... i let the clutch out slowly and let the brake go at the same time and start rolling backwards and then i stall out while trying to give it gas.

any tips.... perhaps make a video on going up real steep hills?

  • @GoGoNards your rear brake is your best friend on hills. by the look of what you're saying, you aren't using it. Now, what you could do is use the rear brake like you use the clutch. At the line (after you stop with your front brake), switch to your rear brake (engage rear, let go of front). Right before the light turns green... rev to maybe 3k (still having your clutch pulled all the way in, rear brake engaged). Let go of the clutch and rear brake SLOWLY simultaneously. you won't roll backwards

  • @DimSumJim You da man! I'll practice this on some hills. Thx

  • @GoGoNards cool. i hope it helps. tell me how it goes!

  • Very useful man.

  • hi what is the perfect sportbike to start off on?

  • @sickenChill in all honesty, it depends on what experience you already have. for most people, a 250 would be fine. after taking the Motorcycle Safety Course, I felt I was ready for a 600cc, but i actually wasn't. it took me at least 3 months to get used to riding it (not riding every day though). 250 is fine to learn on/get used to plus if you drop it, it's not a big deal because they're cheap bikes anyway
