Heineken is slootwater. Daar is elk bier drinkend mens het met eens maar Jupiler vind ik ook niet echt "waauw" hoor. Als eens een Jupiler vergeleken met een Stella Artois of een Tuborg??? Dat is goede pils, niet het bittere Jupiler dat mss nog wel te drinken is van de tap maar in flesjes en blikjes een ware marteling is voor een goede smaak.

De hollanders hier hebben blijkbaar niet begrepen dat als het verkoopt, het ook niet altijd het beste is. Jupiler blijft lokaal binnen Benelux, en is stilaan ook in de rest van Europa verkrijgbaar ja. Maar al een geluk behouden ze hun recept. Heineken word wereldwijd verkocht omdat die onnozelaars niet beter weten, maar als de Nederlander al zelf kan toegeven dat zijn bier rommel is...

But jupiler is one of the best selling beers in Belgium/ Holland

and is widely known as being a good beer.

So i guess you can't really call it a "crap beer"? :)

Heineken is also widely spread

but i just don't like it as much as jupiler, as it doesn't have the bitterness.

Well let me put it this way, Heineken is a below average beer, It's just watered down alcoholic liquid with a faint beer taste, U can compare it with what Budweiser is to the Americans, Believe me here in Holland people with Taste drink great bears like, Hertog Jan, Alfa, Afflinger,Jupiler so should you. Personally i like Belgium beer the most you can taste the quality of the Ingredients.

I agree with you about heineken, i personally don't like it also. but let's not generalize the dutch.I live in amsterdam, and i am not dutch at all, but i really dislike those dumb jokes between the netherlands and belgium, why be so competitive about everything? as a foreigner i noticed how dumb it is.

Oh, and may i suggest, that the best beer i ever drank is Corona, a spanish beer.

Jupiler is probably the most overrated beer ever.All Belgian pilsner for that matter. It's nice to have one if you're thirsty, but it just tastes like water. Same for Heineken too,though Heineken is even worse.

Everyone who tells you that you have "a hole in your culture" (I guess this saying doesn't even exist in English) for not having tried Jupiler isn't a beer connaisseur. Belgium has so much more to offer than bland pilsner.And American beer can be quite good also.

Let's say it this way; a Belgian who only drinks Jupiler, Maes or Leffe has no right to bash the Dutch for their pilsner like Heineken. All of these trademarks are commercialized that its destructive for one's beerculture.
