  • Too fast, sounds almost like she wants to get rid of it asap. Maybe I'm used too much to the slow Sinatra-Ellington version.

  • wow. that's really hip in 6/8 [or 3/4, depending on how you feel it] ~ very unexpected!

  • luv this song and spooky

  • Elegance...

  • Fine version. Love Dusty with the rocking big band.

  • that's music, much better than today, fuck the techno

  • is this jazz?

  • oooh, wow... what a talented woman... such feel for the music... as the poster above says, the coolest britishsinger ever.

  • Oh Gosh, why, why I wasn't born in 50s, or 60s?

  • thank you for posting this, I love Dusty !

  • sorry but this is too fast.... love it still

  • Fuck you 14 dislikes

  • well, spent an hour today listening to J Brown/Tom Jones/ Hebb/ Wonder and obscure artists take on this song---no one can ruin it...just a masterpiece of lyrics, melody and heart....

  • Fuck Amy Winehouse. That´s the WOMAN.

  • Class-A lady all the way.

  • Dusty is really a Irish girl. I saw a tribute by Martha Reeves (Martha and the Vandellas fame/Motown) where she mentioned Dusty as a great friend who sang with a lot of feeling and soul! I always thought she was British also... glad to hear she's Irish though!!

  • Sunny in 3/4 and 5 keychanges. Nice

  • I remember Merv Griffin singing this song on his show and dedicating it to his daughter named Sunny. Charlize Theron is currently making a movie about the life of Dusty Springfield and I can't wait for America to rediscover Dusty's talent!

  • an amazing voice... like the wind blowing through rushes

  • nice one, but cher's version is far better

  • I bet she smoked 2 packs right before beginning, see the hard breathing at the start speech.. nice song , great swing

  • Wonderful singer!! What a voice!!!

  • Mary Catherine Bernadette O'Brien ~ That's Dusty Springfield.........

  • Class personified!

Wow Dusty you make my life sunny

  • She's the best ever!

  • God.........I love this woman.

  • 0:35 she gets the words wrong :P

    still an absolute legend

  • even when she speaks i love her voice:) great singer!

  • What a doll Dusty is...she can nail any song she cares to try. Love you forever girl...

  • Dusty was like a one-woman Supremes show--what a talented lady with such great stage presence!

  • @italoman9 absolutely perfect way to describe Dusty

  • whoever the arranger was who suggested the 3/4 time needs to take a bow.....makes this version stand out..........

  • I like Dusty Springfield but then this song sounds good by Boney M

  • i so woulda banged dusty springfield back in her heyday.

  • Always loved it.....and will in future too...

A fav eternally.... this performance is very splendid too!

  • Is there somewhere that we can get all of her tv series on dvd? 4 years worth???

  • Love it!!!

  • turns me on just watchin her....xx

  • @c0llid0r hey retard just cause its free dont mean u have to post like a common moron

  • Listening to Dusty is a bit like seeing a white boxer move like a black boxer. Her timing and phrasing was unique for a white singer. Such a shame she only made it to 60. Dusty should still be knocking them out now at age 71.

  • Jaysus! With a name like Mary Isabel/Isobel Catherine Bernadette O'Brien her parents can only have come from one place!

  • cool 3/4 take!

  • One Class Act! Stylin like the 60's.

  • Awesome singer, wonderful voice. But still I like the original better.

  • what a hotty!

  • I discovered her a few days ago and she is amazing!!

  • You're arguing about her being English or Irish but on the inside she was pure Black American. (And quite a good singer I might add)

  • She is gorgeous and has the most unforgettable voice!

  • Nice jazz version of this classic Bobby Hebb song !!! Dusty I love you !

  • She was Irish actually!

  • sorry, it's mary isabel catherine o brien

  • Mary Teresa O Brien is IRISH actually, England born Irish like me, back when landlord signs read: NO BLACKS NO IRISH NO DOGS

  • @eilis59 NO BLACKS NO IRISH NO DOGS?! Really? That's foul!

  • I love her hair! : o

  • Met a really cool chick during the "Rave" days late 90's ...the one and only "Sunny" most appropriate.

    Cheers !

  • I'm a huge fan of Dusty Springfield - I just heard about this new original DVD series: reelinintheyears(dot)com/britishinvasion

  • It would have been Dusty's 71st today. I wish she was still here

  • soul.

  • 45 years of technical advancement and this still sounds better than anything I hear on itunes today.

Proof that technological advancement isn't directly linked to artistic growth

  • @carlotessarini well who gave you that idea??!?!?

  • @madkorova

Actually, It was an independent thought. I get them all the time like many of the people with which I associate. But I never question any of my friends when they say something.

You seem very smart, would you like to join us?

    Best to you,

    Carlo

  • @carlotessarini

I don't question my friends either. But you're not my friend, sorry :)

Nope, I won't join you, whoever you are. Cheers!

  • The music was so much better in the 60's. Not to mention the singers! We just don't have those voice anymore... Dusty was a truly amazing singer!

  • Pure classic dusty ! FABULOUS......

  • Wow! She really kicks ass on this one. Intonation is spot on, performance brillant all round.

Love the choice of 3/4 time sig done as a jazz waltz over the usual 4/4 time.

  • I absolutely loooved the way chics dressed back then...U totally focused on pure raw talent and class instead of tits and azz...

  • Version extraordinaire !!

  • Very classy rendition.

  • Dusty moved her arms really well to express emotion....

unlike alot of singers who are cardboard cutouts.

  • Cool,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • What a crazy time signature! :D Brilliant!

  • @OrabelaSpirita Yes, almost a bit confusing at times, but Dusty holds it together, Even though the syncopated rhythm threw me off, it didn't bother her at all.

  • Que pique!

  • Beautiful, glamourous, and great talent!!

  • ooee 2.17 of sheer joy

  • wow. what a performance.

  • Her voice is amazing...

  • wonderful!

    she's just divine!

  • Wow and let's do in in 3/4 time while we're at it, what a talent!!

  • A natural born singer - so effortless.

  • Great version of this song....Only thing was I think she calls it a happy song....It was written by a guy about his brother who died before his time...but Dusty gives it an upbeat sound !!!!

  • she is/was beautiful :) x

  • It's probabbly the inspiration of Diners Club tv commercial tune

  • IS THERE NO SONG SHE CAN'T SING

  • I agree! I've heard her sing in so many different styles: Folk, Jazz, Soul, Pop etc. and she always sounds brilliant! : )

  • Dude this song is AWESOME with her vocals my goodness. Such a musky cool sound she has. I lOVE her name too so cute!

  • wicke version

  • she was hot ;)

  • Britian must be darn proud that they can claim Dusty as one of their's. The female Dean Martin and both were so cool.

  • this song is too sweet i sing it to my son alot his name is sonny and he does fill my heart with sunshine

  • The coolest british singer ever. Thank you.

  • Yes, she really was wasn't she? Thank you, too!

  • I also think Dusty was the sexiest British singer ever. Actually she was sexy on both sides of the pond. (I live here in Atlanta, GA). As a kid growing up in the 1960's (born in 1963), Dusty was one of my first two crushes (I won't tell you the other one at this point).

  • @gferdinandus no

    that would be steve marriott

  • @Ricoventura I agree

  • @Ricoventura and what about Petula Clark?

  • as a kid i used to day dream to this and think she was singing it to me

  • Amazing yet effortless

  • I loveeeeeeeeeeeeee Dusty

  • This shows Dusty's talent in the way she sings this song... to me it has a jazzy sound. She could do anything. *)*

  • Great interpretation, she puts her own spin on it. I've always liked that quality she has to her voice.

  • That's exactly what I felt too. This is pure jazz. Love it.

  • a bit hasty

  • wasnt this originally by cher? well whatever dustys version was better!

  • Originally by Bobby Hebb

    -Izzy

  • Dusty was the greatest of them all.

    Nobody else comes close.

  • Comment removed

  • thats actualy what I like most about this version, more dynamic :)

  • She really made this song her own. I can see why the English fell in love with her!
