ok. ive heard this phone has wifi. now i know ipod touches have wifi and you dont have to pay for the internet on the ipod touch. i was wondering if you have to pay for the wifi on this phone. ive been trying to find a functional phone. ive had soem really crappy ones in the past. does this phone appear that it would brake easily?

Good question, I don't know, I haven't tried it. I think I remember seeing the option while looking at the menus, but I'm not 100% on that.

Without a data plan it is $350. With a data plan, it is $300 after rebate. If you want a data plan, by all means get it. However, if you don't want a data plan, don't get it with one. You'd be paying an extra $600 over the contract just to get $50 off. AT&T will probably tell you that you have to get a data plan, and that is not true. Just tell them you want the phone without the data plan, and they can do it that way.

Yeah, that's what I used in the video. (unless you got something different...) I actually have another adapter that I bought for my old phone, which I would use because it is MUCH less bulky.

Search Google for XDA-Developers, go to their forum, find the section for the Fuze (aka the "Raphael"), and search for the FM radio application. It is free, and doesn't use the data (it is actually an FM radio in the phone, no different from your car or on a stereo).

no, it has opera mobile, which is probably the best windows mobile browser out there.

I liked it a lot at first, but now that I'm used to Opera, I definitely think Opera works better.

No, Safari is only for the iPhone. This phone comes with Opera, which works splendidly. Alternatively, you could try SkyFire, which though still in beta, is a very capable browser with a lot of potential.

I haven't tried, but I would imagine so. When you have the keyboard out, you get a specialized interface with functions that would be useful when the keyboard is available. You just have to click on "Start >> Today" to get back to the "Today" screen, where you should be able to initialize a new call.

Hmm, sounds like an application. (you mean like on the iPhone?) The lock screen on the Fuze is just a numerical pad that you type on and press "Unlock". If you mean something like what the iPhone uses, you'll need to download and install an application to do that (and it does exist).

can you text/ make a call without sliding out the keyboard?

Sure. Any time there is a text input option, you can pop up the virtual keyboard from the bottom of the screen. And for dialing, you can just pop up the virtual keypad, though there is a "Contacts" tab on the TouchFlo 3D menu, and that works very well if you're calling someone from your normal rotation.

Also guys, this video was shot in 720p. If you just use the high-quality link, it will be 480p, but feel free to add &fmt=22 onto the end of the link, and you should get the 720p version. :)

If you use the AT&T data plan, yes, it will cost money. If you opt not to get a data plan, then you can still use wi-fi if you have it available, which will be free to use (unless obviously the place you are at charges for wi-fi access).

It's Windows Mobile, you can do whatever you want. You'll just have to disable the home screen, I'm sure. Worst case scenario, wait a few weeks and there will be some custom ROMs available from XDA-Developers.

Glad I could help! Keep in mind in the demo that I used the breakout box that came with the phone, but that thing is HUGE. You can jump on Amazon and pick up a USB-to-Stereo adapter, which is just a little wire, and it does the same thing, without having this huge box thing hanging off of your phone. ;)

I did it in my car yesterday (have a USB-to-stereo adapter hooked up to the car stereo). I used it to play the FM Radio and use the GPS (plus voice instructions) at the same time. ;)

Jeez, I dunno. I have them both...I like them both! I guess I'm gonna have to go with the Fuze because with the Epix, some of the poor-quality apps people make don't adjust to the screen resolution right...and the Fuze has an FM Radio which is just cool (check out my other video for a demo of that).

Really though, they're both solid. Go use them both in the store, and see which one feels better. You won't be disappointed either way. :)
