Do what you want but if your looking for a particular e38 say a 2001 metallic black on black 740i sport with low kms it might be hard to find for 8k. These are hwy cruisers so it's hard to find ones with low kms.

i never said i want one with low kms. i live in a city, i think i can find one with 150-160 kms, for 8k USD.

just makesure you get a good one, repairs are costly, with lower kms your usually better off

i might as well keep the w220. i have no idea how the previous owners kept the car. he could have done burnouts, and completly wrecked the transmission and engine. i thought about it for a day or two. but then decided not to get one

e38's run between 15k for a low miles 01' to about 3k for a good running high miles (at least 160k miles)

Alpine White baby. Every time I step into mine I make sure I'm clean as well as my ride!! Bout to get a full engine check on my '98 (99k) just to see how she's running. new tires, 1 lower block plug, and an alignment just cost me $798 so not too bad in case anyone's wondering about a little maintenance with the e38.

It has been already 8 years since the production came to end, I was a child and looked with obsession at this car. Production ended, BMW replaced old models with newer ones of a cosmic ship's designs but classics never die. 8 years passed I still feel shivers going down my back. Simply the best 7-series ever built.

I had to avoid a t-bone with my full size v12 e38 IL and it handles like it is on rails. No other full size luxury car will ever own up to this e38, not even the new 7 series.

I totally agree. Few people appreciate this classic, simple, boxy look that BMW used to pull off so well. Now their cars just seem very... conformist. My dream car (I will have it some day...I've made a promise to myself lol) is an Imola Red 2001 740i Sport with the black interior. Since the automatic was the only gearbox available in the US, I'll have it swapped for the Euro-spec 6-speed manual (if I can afford such an operation...). I smile just thinking about such a car. :)
