  • Get the ddr3 2x4 gb sticks in ddr1600 or ddr3 2x 4 gb 1866 leds R/G or O/B still look cool. I got 16 gb r/g 1600

  • I wish the tracers still looked like that now they are just single leds

  • I just bought 8gigs of this in ddr3 ;-)

  • i wonder why this ram is so hard to find now

  • retro music & high end PC ;)

  • they look asome and if they dont light up u know one of them id dead that is usefull

  • Not necessarily. But they definitely wont be blinking much status which would prove to be nice.

  • i wish they made 2 hard drives lights one for reading and one for writing

  • @cobra12369 LOL are you serious right now??? you give nerds a bad name. fuck you.

  • God I want to mix two of those 2Gb sticks with my OCZ ReaperX's.

The blinky lights going through the huge heatsinks would look amazing, had bad experience with mixng ram though... even though same spec.

  • is it just randomly blinking or is it showing access??

  • Hey akrazeeblue, Crucial here to answer your question:

Yes, Ballistix Tracer LEDs indicate activity--or memory access--so they're not only wildly entertaining, they're also useful in letting you know which of your programs are the most memory-intensive.

  • cool. too bad they're so expensive

  • EXPENSIVE??

They are like £10 more then normal DDR2 800....

My OCZ DDR2 800 was £40 for each 4 gig set, this is £50 for each 4 gig set.

So £10 for LEDs, well, considering decent LED fans cost £10 uhmmm I'd say they are well priced.

  • 0.o well the last time i checked you could get better timings on memory thats 2/3 the price... maybe im mistaking.

  • its $200 for 6gigs

  • random...its a feature in their "Tracer" line

  • @aneeqster

Now becarfull, they are "circulating in a random pattern based on memory utilization".....so not quite random.

  • They blink very slowly when theres nothing happening and they go really fast when you do things like play games. I have the same ram.

  • its kinda annoyin...but i like da blue lights at da base near da dimms

  • Reminds me of those old computers in SciFi movies with there banks of flashing lights!

  • hahaha, nice one!

  • do they come in ddr3 ?

  • yes but not this model

  • Does anyone know why there are double-wide LEDs and single-wide?

  • Are there blue lights at the bottom of the memmory, i've boucht that sticks too....?

  • Umm does this ram come with those lights and if it does, how much is it and where can i get it from?

  • yes it does comes with the liughts they show the performens of ther ram

they are about 100 bucks for 4 gb

    amazon

  • thanx for the info. I'm on a new rig and I love the way they look.

  • i have the newer ballistix tracer that only has like one row of lights that don't chase each other :(. also i have a 333mhz ram in there so the ram only gows as fast as the cheap, slow one. (even when overclocked it is only 370 something mhz.) :( i need to get more ballistix tracer.

  • Someone throw some water on that fire

  • wow nice...does it make ram slower

  • not at all, this ram is hella fast. Have 2gb of it myself. About to buy 2 more!

  • FUCK i gotta get me one of those, hope they are in stock in my area

  • They don't use any power either they are only 2 Volts only xD

better than most other ram that use 2.6-2.8 volts

  • sexy shit

  • What exactly can you do with the LEDs? can you program each one or do they just do their thing? Can you even turn them off? I want to get some of this RAM but I only really like the blue glow at the base of them as I don't really want non-blue LEDs in my PC.

  • The LED's just flash. You can't program them, nor turn them off. They look so much nicer in real life than on shitty camera.

  • Thanks for the info. I might just get some corsair dominator with the dominator cooler and pimp that out instead.

  • The LEDs blink faster depending on how often the RAM gets read/writen to. It does look better in real life...

  • The lights are good because you can see if your system has locked up or if it is still working.

  • @H8crew6 we all know those lights are 99% for show :P

  • @H8crew6 correct , helped me many times to identify this , also the faster the lights go the more processing is happening .. so its not only dumb lights for showoff .. they actually mean something and also loook super-awesome as well !!

  • where did you buy those memorys?

  • you can get them at any major online retailer

  • like??

  • Tigerdirect has decent mobo and ram pricings now, Newegg is the most preffered place among enthusiasts as well as zipzoomfly.

  • absoluty beautiful
