It's as if you catch every note and let it radiate through you, like a spider web vibrating from sound. A lot of dancers do not have that. Keep up the good work. You WILL go far with this.

usually I do not care for tribal fusion , may be it is the type of music but you and this performance, interpertation has given me a new perspective . it was just absolutely beautiful
Gorgeous. For me, this is what tribal fusion is about - a fusion of oriental, tribal and contemporary dance vocabularies, expressing and reflecting the music and danced from the heart, in true oriental style. I don't care if there isn't an original movement or combination in the piece - beautiful and well-danced wins out over innovation for me any day.

that is one of the most beautiful and unique dances I've seen! It's sooo sensual, I could just imagine you dancing this in the snow. Pardon me, but can you Kendra or anyone enlighten me as to what the difference between this and belly dancing is? They look similar...? I mean either way they are both beautiful, I am just curious.
My understanding is that "belly dancing" is the traditional version of the folkloric dance from the middle east. This dancing is called tribal fusion, which is a branch off of Tribal belly dance. Tribal is an American version of "belly dancing" that is quite different, but is made up of similar movements. They are two completely different dances but sometimes use similar movements, music, and costuming elements.
I try to refer to my dancing as "tribal fusion" more than belly dancing as I have learned that traditional belly dancers don't like it when we call this style of dancing "belly dance."
What is the music you used??? Its beautifully haunting...as is the dancing!! I love how people are finding music outside of the traditional electronica to work with...its great!!

Okay, maybe I'm being a little cranky tonight. This is definitely different music. But it's the same movements I see every other tribal fusion artist do. Where's the uniqueness of the dancer? Where's the personality?
It's fine if yer cranky but keep in mind that I am a tribal fusion dancer and I do tribal fusion movements.. It's not just tribal fusion dancers that do similar movements, look at ANY dance form and you will see that they will do movements within their style. Ballet is always the same set of movements strung together differently with different music, Break dance uses the same movements, and bellydance falls into this as well. If you look at performances in any bd style, they often look the same.
I think people are expecting too see new and innovative things every time they watch a video, and I admit that dance should evolve over time, but tribal fusion is still very new and if we continue to dilute this dance form so quickly, we are going to loose the roots of this dance as we have already started to. Let's take a moment to appreciate costuming, music, technique and enjoy the dance for what it is, and lets stop complaining that it is all the same because all dance forms are "the same."
