This is my ringtone on my mobile phone!! haha i gotta tell ya it really draws attention, people around me stops and looks around when it rings, curious on where it comes from! I LOVE this song to death, and the twin freaks version of temporary secretary is awesome too!!
I'm surprised Nirvana didn't cover this back in the day. The vocal phrasing and general drone matches their sound, plus the chorus chant would be TOTAL Nirvana. Crazy.
@MrSimonbowler hahahaa thank you. I absolutely love the beatles. I live for live music, if I ever heard this live i'd pull a to catch a predator and blow my brains out right there, with everyone around me... cranium and brain matter everywhere.
I think this is typical of McCartney's clever use of 1977 cutting edge technology and his willingness to take it beyond the norm. 34 years on, absolutely brill!
I actually love this song lol I recently saw Paul in concert and this song played on the speakers before and after the show with techno dance remixes of Paul songs haha
You have to give it to Paul this and the whole of Mc2 are absolute genius. This one, Nobody knows, Coming up, Front Parlour, Frozen Jap and the list goes on. Not for verse-chorus-verse- chorus-bridge-chorus crowd-that's for sure
I don't get it. I have always been a Beatles fan. But when I hear this song, all I can think is, "There's no way this guy wrote any music for the Beatles." I guess it's just me. Oh, well. I will be expecting hate replies from McCartney fans.
@ejgonz33172 , I'm a huuuuge Paul McCartney fan, and I bought McCartney II yesterday and listened to this song, It's so techno and electronic. It's a little weird but it's so catchy!
Well, McCartney did write some odd stuff when he in the Beatles too. Remember "Wild Honey Pie", "Carnival of Light" and "You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)" (which he and John Lennon wrote together. Paul always has had a intrest in the Avant-garde.
are you kidding?? I think it's pretty catchy and he's was just trying to keep up with the times. Using synthesizers and sounding like Devo. It's genius. Obviously the subject is tongue in cheek, as it should be. This was ahead of it's time and misunderstood til now.
amazing track ... i bought this record a few years ago as a "repress" and actually always thought it was a remix of some old song :) guess not, just way ahead of its time!
Excelent experimental song ! A proof that Sir McCartney is a real composer not just a juke-box for nostalgic drinking sessions and sentimental teen girls. And a reminder that rock is not at all a commercial musical genre but an alive and in a permanent search for new ways of exprimation.
Im not sure whether to love this or be disgusted by it...
