Sorry, but I do not even know what you mean by "Caribbeans African American". Caribbean is a region and it is not in Africa and neither are the people Africans, with the exception of the recent economic immigrants who migrated there mainly in the 90s! Also, these people in the Harlem Renaissance were NOT even Americans, they were ALL Caribbeans from places such as Jamaica, Nevis, Barbados etc who were ALL already writers in their own countries who helped in black liberation!
In information is completely on true with your claim that the Harlem Renaissance was an African-American cultural movement! Over 90% of the writers were Caribbeans, born and breed! There seem to be an ignorance in calling these Caribbeans African American.
"When Susanna Jones wears red/ A queen from some time dead Egyptian night/ walks once again..."
That one always touched me, and he wrote it in his teens, if I remember correctly.

I'll have to double check on the 90% statistic, but I absolutely agree that Caribbean-Americans have been overlooked throughout American history!

Would a white 17 year old Michigander get in trouble, if he made a soft/pop rock/R&B song out of an obscure Langston Hughes poem?
