Sorta Kinda. OA is more along the lines of free roaming but there is no role playing element to the sim. But there are mods that can definitely turn it into a full blown free roam sandbox even rpg type game. Best place to look around is the Armaholic modding community.

@HesterDW Yeah but its mostly just forests hills and plains.. kind of realistic but not as fun.. id rather walk through half the size of a mildly urbanized area than 80 miles of dense forest with the occasional animal stumbling into the path

No realy point in paying for Arma 2 when you could just buy a better game of same idea, like Battlefield 3 or what not. It makes for a great game though and the atmosphere of it all is great. @Kenny0339 Of course the M15x can run it, that laptop is one of the best gaming laptops on the market, you will probably get 60-70fps on the highest settings which is plenty smooth, but remember battery life will suck just keep it plugged in. Hell, I don't even think your eye can tell much of a difference after 65fps or maybe even less.

@Kenny0339 Lol gaming laptops. My two 5850s and 3.80 GHZ Core i7-920 would struggle with this game maxed out. Gaming laptops in general are fail. Either they overheat or the battery dies in an hour. Doesn't matter who it came from.

The good news is you can max out BC2 with it, though.

@Kenny0339 The game doesn't support Hyper-Threading so good luck with that, and which ATI Radeon videocard? Depends on the card. It may have a 'okay' graphics card, but that still leaves your processor...

Running a game like this on a laptop is an absolutely terrible idea if you plan on using a trackpad and that tiny keyboard.

@Kenny0339 Yeah, I'm sorry if I seemed a bit antagonistic. It won't run well on a gaming laptop though. You'll have to disable Turbo Mode which takes away performance in other application. The game isn't as graphically intensive on the 4870 and up cards as it is on everything else--mainly the processor and the hard drive. It takes a bunch of SSDs in a raid 0 array to run the game without pop-in and pop out and 1.86 GHz is simply not enough.

it is slow because its a JUMP JET.they are designed to hover and act almost like a helicopter,but can go up to about almost Mach 1 (785MPH)the Harrier GR7,as like the one in this video is the most common jump jet.

Defraging your hard drive keeps your data transfer quick and simple. It rarely contributes much to the game. That mostly depends on your hardware.

go to my computer, rich click you primary drive, (normaly C drive), click tools, and then run disk defrag.

It will put together all the files that have become split on your computer, makes it much, much faster.

i think its really good. Its more of a simulator, so expect realistic bullet trajectories etc. Plus you can pretty much build your own missions from scratch. On a mid-high end gaming PC this will look amazing for you
