  • Perfection!

  • Just the most touching film I've ever seen, even more than many not-animated films. The soundtrack is 50% of the film. Needless to say nothing more.

  • itsudemo sagashiteshimau dokka ni kimi no egao wo <3

  • continuation All i could reply is GOOD FOR YOU. *Sigh* im such an idiot. and now im sulking in the internet listening in sad musics. no where to run. (T^T). How i wish i can go back to the past. how i wish that i confess sooner. how i wish that i have One more time, One more chance

  • @NaTsUdRaGnEeL210

    Go. Fucking. Get. Her.

  • *Sigh* i have a story about...me and my one sided luv.she was my sempai in school. she graduated, returned to my school to beacome an employee. I was so happy that I saw her again. Few months have past and we became friends.I was planning to confess to her but then again i heard that she had to go to find new job. Unknowingly she left the school. I have her cell # but i cant confess to her in the phone. Then last month she emailed us(all of her frends) that she found the right man for her.

  • Putting it on my playlist, so relaxing.

  • Love is fragile, keep it like glass, delicate but when it falls it shatters, you can never repair glass, like you can never repair your first love. It seems as if we are all destined to be single but without the special someone you aren't complete right? Take the initiative and tell how special that person is to you.

  • y esto me vuelve cobrar a la vida y caer en el amor...

  • 3 centimeters per second is all it takes to break a powerful bond.... funny how fragile a bond and love really is.

  • @Knoughts

thanks man. i write what i feel. :)

  • @OpenMindentity

thats rough man :( i cant imagine breaking up with someone you love while the nostalgic meloncholyness of winter surrounded you, mainly cuz i grew up on Guam and we only have summer all year long obviously. but i know that feel bro, and this might sound quite femanine but that experience we both share is really special. from it our lives will never be the same for we know a feeling that not everyone gets and i know you know what im talking about. i hope you live a good life bro.

  • I Hate Cosmonaut always reminds me of myself.

  • Forever alone.

  • this anime is realy sad and brings back memorys of a girl i left 5 years ago. I told her not to cry when i leave but in the end when my bus starts moving she cryed. It is the last picture i have in mind of her. But we all keep moving what else should we do? ^^

  • can someone make thisin synthesi pleas? D:!!

  • this movie kinda resembles my life because i was an exchange student that stayed in japan for two summers in highschool and i fell in love with a japanese girl. i havent seen her in 3 years and i still think of her and everything we did together and i wonder if she still thinks of me. i miss you Sayaka ( T ^T)

  • @godduero I've been listening to this piece on this page for quite some time already, everytime i'd read the comments while listening to it on the bus etc.. And everytime I did that, i'd see your comment, never expected that a comment could influence others so much.

  • @godduero

I felt the same way about a Chinese foreign exchange student that came to our high school for a year. It's also been three years now, and we had one of the worst break ups; but I still think of her every time it snows- since it was snowing when we fell out. Unfortunately, it snows here all the time in Minnesota. :(

    not @godduero

In case you're reading this (doubtful), good luck with life Scarlett.

  • you know people ... life isn't easy ... and definitly not always joyful ...

but ... there is beauty in this world ... beauty, which will never disappear, as long as we keep the memories deep in our hearts ...

and I might only speak for myself ... but that's reason enough to walk forward ...

    Thx for this wonderful song.

  • what this movie taught me: we always looking for what we want, without knowing that maybe we already had what we need...sorry for my bad english, thou

  • @dooskiss your english is acctually perfect :)

  • @LittleCartoons thanks :D

  • @dooskiss you're welcome ^-^

  • ahhh this song just makes me tear up! The soundtrack and movie are both just so beautiful.

It's true what others say about the whole realistic side of this movie, no matter how much we love, sometimes things just don't work out, and we don't get the ending we want...I know that's the truth, but a part of me still doesn't want to accept it.

Being in the same situation as some of the characters right now, this movie makes me want to try my best so I get the happy ending I want.

  • i was watching this movie with my big bro. (he forced me to)

i read the story in the mid. of the movie through wiki .. .

my bro. beg me not to spoil it to him,

i watched him till he finished the movie and my reaction bout the ending was it's stupid then he told me "cause that's how love goes, its not always your candy ice cream sweet ending" after that i always see him watch this when he's stress. for me its boring, but i quess for others it's something that gives them some peace of mind.

  • beautiful song

  • Why did he smile at the very end?

Because he was able to see the cherry blossoms with Akari one more time.

  • @TheKanonHara And also because he was able to move on with life, because he realized that she had also moved on :'] Makes me feel so sad.

  • i remember watching this movie last spring. now i really want to watch it again, but i'm scared to, because i don't want to end up depressed and sad for a week again. this is a powerful film. thank you makoto shinkai.

  • I just finished this movie and it's just one of the most amazing anime I've ever seen.

No other anime has made me sadder than this one.

But I'm not mad about the ending. The bittersweet reality of it catches up with you in the end, and you can't help but accept it.

  • i dont know what it is about, but makes me cry remembering some things

  • I'm sure some of you didn't accept the ending..(I was included).

But,let's just take the realism message from this movie..

We won't always get the ending we want, yah like what itsjanii comment..

Though I hate the ending..but this is what we must learn..

Let's take every messages that this movie gave..

    What a beautiful movie..

*One of best movie ever in my life,"5 Centimeters Per Second"*

  • I just watched this, and I don't know what to feel. The bittersweet ending has got me all mixed up and for some reason, I'm okay with that. The realism of the movie got me; we don't always get the ending we want, despite the love and want we have. Beautiful song and a beautiful movie.

  • Yeah i just watch it and the title of the story originate from how fast a sakura Patel fall,

petals being a metaphorical representation of humans, reminiscent of the slowness of life and

how people often start together but slowly drift into their separate ways.(taken from wikipedia)

it's a very good movie no wonder it's the best anime movie of the year 2007

  • I was listening to this while I was reading reviews of the movie. Apart from the musical magnificence, 5Cm/Sec touched my heart and soul unlike any other animated movies I have seen. I hope they make another movie like this, but I doubt it could surpass 5Cm/Sec. It's so beautiful and breath taking in so many different aspects. Thumbs up if you cried a lot of times.

  • This version is awesome, but somewhat more joyful than the original version :S

  • This is just my opinion, and has nothing to do with the sound track. But this Movie really really depressed me and Made me feel really unhappy. I didn't like it. Maybe its because it reminded me (especially at the time) of how i felt and what i was doing to myself, but It only confirms the fact that life is pretty shit most of the time.

  • @facelessred

It takes a very good film to make you feel like shit, or feel at all for that matter.

  • Showed this anime to someone and they said they didnt like it very much because it was boring and had no real ending...i was so disappointed she couldnt enjoy it as much as i did and the ending i thought was so perfect...

  • seriously

how can people dislike this piece?

it's like, they dislike life and everything that's involved

they should take their time and watch this film, to understand what is expected in life

  • i have a long distance relation too

yet i have faith in a happily ever after :)

this movie made me cry... but it also encouraged me to keep on fighting for love ♥

  • Where can you find the music sheet for tthis???

  • I guess the reason why most people don't understand the film is because they just don't know what disappointment truly feels like. They all live in their fantasies where everything they want, they get. But this movie teaches us the valuable lesson that what we want is not always there waiting for us.

  • It reminds me of my first love (or is it already love?). Everytime I ride a vehicle and pass at his house, I always search for him. But I never caught a glimpse of him. And then after many years, I forgot about him. Maybe that's falling out of love means?

  • I find it sad that after reccomending this to my friend, she texted me asking why I made her watch an anime like this...she said it was boring and the long distance thing was stupid...I told her that it will take her a while to respect it xp

  • 5 centimeters taught me a lesson... whenever you are truely in love with a girl/boy, you go after them.. Everyone can relate to this because everyone truely loves someone..

  • This would be the perfect song for the ending credits of a "Tales of" game. Anyone agree?

  • some one knows were can i download the cd?

  • 70 miles per hour is the usual speed I drive on the interstate.

49 words per minute is how fast I usually type.

339 words per minute is the average speed at which I read.

I wonder how fast it will take me to fall in love again?

  • Comment removed

  • @AnglingPoenya Please don't say the name of God in vain... thanks...

  • ^0^ love it!!! >w<

  • If i had one more chance,

    to change the past,

    anyhow i had that glace,

    is dwelling on me fast,

If i had one more chance,

    i will make a difference,

that would have changed my life. Forever.

  • do any 1 know wheres the song by Ookami san is it from 5cm per sec?

  • Comment removed

  • This song is one of the reasons, why I watch the movie again and again.

And yes we all miss someone.

  • if it is possible God, let me go back to nagisa and confess to her that i loved her.

  • you know, I've been listening to this for a while and it makes me want to watch this movie again....why stop there? Every Makoto Shinkai movie should be seen atleast twice

  • simply amazing. ♥

  • this movie reminds me to make the best of now, and keep contact with my most important friends.

  • Over three years since posted and only 7 dislikes... this song seems to reach even trolls and THAT says a lot :)

  • Whenever I'm sad... I put my heart to this Film and watch. not just watch, I learn from it

  • Maybe I should dislike this that it makes me cry.

  • one more time, one more chance + rainymood!!

  • will anyone have the scores for this?

  • @lioncck I'm currently searching. I'll tell you here if I find anything.

  • @edgeypoosisepic that'd be great man

  • @lioncck Josh's anime sheet music has it!

  • what is there to dislike about this. this music is so pure and beautiful

  • @ss501908 Well, it makes you sad.

  • can i give "likes" to this 100000000000000000000 times?

  • The ending was so much more than the past. From what I gather, the ending is so much more symbolic than it is literal. Symbolic in the way where both, Tohno and Akira were narrating and looking back at their memories of one another; when Akira had looked back, she had already moved on.Tohno did not, and that's why he didn't see her there; all he could do is smile and do the same, move on. Literal in the way, that she did look back; meaning he was still in her heart. And that was enough for him.

  • @SlightlyRaisedEyebro I always thought he smiled because he finally get to watch the cherry blossoms with Akari again, one last time. But I guess that depends on the viewer, just like Shinkai intended.

  • @gerardz101 In the end they never really met. They both wanted to watch the cherry blossoms together, but the movie doesn't say whether or not they actually do it.

  • @SlightlyRaisedEyebro But they did. At the final scene, there's cherry blossoms falling. But I guess they didn't met directly, but did get to watch the cherry blossoms together.

  • The ending made the whole thing worthy. Its so beautiful, and sad. I love this movie!

  • @squibble2: hahahah nice one XD

  • @squibble2 lol

  • Whats the name of the anime/movie?

  • @SpaceCoward

    lol 5 Centimeters per Second

  • I love this, it makes me cry T_T but i really like this!

  • Whenever i'm feeling like I hate the world I watch this film.

And then I remember how beautiful the sky can look, the clouds, the stars, the moon. How beautiful tears can look, how beautiful the past can look. I settle down and watch the entire thing through, maybe have a good cry.

Every person can relate to this, because all of us miss someone who isn't there anymore. All of us miss the past.

  • @Edwards3Carrots That's so true! Moving on ain't easy, sister! (or brother) I love the part where you remember how beautiful everything looks. I can so relate to you. :D

  • @Edwards3Carrots that's beautiful dude

  • @Edwards3Carrots Don't make me cry :')

  • @Betwazzled My apologies. I didn't mean too! :) x

  • @Edwards3Carrots I miss good old Soviet Union and dear Leader Josef Stalin and his way of killing criminals and people who wont listen

  • @Edwards3Carrots i miss a girl who was very important to me, a girl i feel i owe my life to, a girl i love from the bottom of my heart.

It's been 2-3 years since I've seen her, we're not separated by miles or time, we are close and yet, so far apart... I miss with all my heart, all I want is to see her smile again, and to hold her in my arms just one more time...

but again, it's been years, for all I know she might not want me in her life anymore, this is the wall that keeps me from her...

  • @Edwards3Carrots This comment made me tear :")

  • @Edwards3Carrots She's still there. I feel it in my heart. That person may not physically be with you, but they will stay in your heart forever. Even if you move on, they'll still be there.

  • @Edwards3Carrots wow..just wow

  • @Edwards3Carrots I like your comment. Its so true. Im so glad i found a movie like this. It reminds me to remember the past, and to move forward. Its not easy but we have to move forward.

  • @Edwards3Carrots you just made cry

  • The story was really simple..I mean, there wasn't any notable big twists in the plot, but I guess I really liked it because the movie can touch the lives of everyone..

  • if you got something to say to someone say it or else you will be fucked up forever and bring those doubts to your grave....

  • because everyone to some varying degree will elevate the image of person he or she has met in the past but no longer has the chance of ever meeting again. this film therefore speaks to even a greater range of audience as opposed to if its main concerns were only about meeting a grown up version of a childhood friend. the fact that he was more concerned with the immortalized image buried inside his mind than meeting the actual person (again he did not chase) just makes this much deeper.

  • it just hit me that this movie isn't really about him missing a grown up person he loved in the past.. he was in love with the past, romanticized image of her, sort of like the first person you liked during the innocence of youth. that is why he didn't bother chasing after her in the end when he suspected that it was her. he could have easily caught up to her if he ran (the delay caused by train was but ~20 seconds when she was on foot?) this makes the film even more mature

  • 7 people troll and probably listen to mainstream hardcore bullcrap with stupid breakdowns that don't even sound good xD

  • i cant describe this emotions, are like a mix of happiness, sadness, melancholy and a sweet and perturbing calm....

    god!

7 persons need to find themselves or they are simply deaf

  • i love this movie *__*

i cried so much and every time i hear this

sond i want to begin to cry again ...

it´s so toching and emotional ...

  • i love this movie ; _; ♥ ive never cried this much since the notebook came out but this is so much better T0T

  • 7 people have no hearts. D:

  • It's well emphasized (noticing how the tempo changes quickly in some parts of the song). Perhaps the one who played it deeply felt it too.

  • Since when did I get into the habit of writing texts to nobody...?

  • who the hell missed the yes button

  • This is one of the best animes to be ever made, it is the most touching and heart moving animes ever. I love this anime and shall for eternity <3

  • *sniffle* so so, touching T.T

  • I'm crying ;;

  • i watched it once and i dare not watch it again. it's heartbreaking. it's almost like i feel Takaki's pain when Akari slowly disappeared in the snow..

  • So beautiful. ♥

  • this is frist time I cry when I'm hearing piano song...it's melody like talking''

  • "At what speed must I live to see you again?"

  • I cried in this movie

  • 7 people need one more chance.

  • @Lemurrific maybe the other way around, the 775 people who liked this need One More Chance and One More Time.

  • @Lemurrific yep, you got that right.

  • one of the most beautiful piano-pieces I've ever heard

  • oh my god!!! thank you for uploading! love it

  • So very beautiful :)

  • I wonder if I will ever have a life of happiness.. I want to be with someone I would care for for the rest of my life. I want to be reborn into a child in a situation just like this movie, but instead of separating our paths further and further, our hearts would connect even if we were a million cm apart.

  • Comment removed

  • @merache

That's only 10km dude, I wish my girl lived that close. instead of the current 9000km. Those are REAL figures!

But let's not get offtopic, brilliant movie :) But I would have handled the situation differently. he lives in kagoshima, she lives in iwafune. just grab a shinkansen every 3 months or so? it's only a 7 hour train ride, the same amount of time he spent inside that damn train, altho it was delayed

Get a job, Grab the Train, Spend time together. he obviously didnt care.

  • @michaelbuur I meant it metaphorically, and I personally think that when two hearts are (figuratively) 5 cm close, then that's when its not far. Anything more than that means that two people are not truly together. Of course, you probably don't get what I mean... I'm quite the odd one.

  • @michaelbuur and also, I wouldn't care less about how long it took from some stupid delayed train to someone I want to see... :) I would wait it all out, wait an eternity if I have to.

  • @merache

No I hear ya, I'm not that dense :), I was just beign terribly sober about the whole situation. It's just about two people in love but lacking the strength or will to keep it up. Which isn't a big surprise, we spend 60 minutes in the company of these 2 individuals, but the movie spans over a period of 18 years or so. In the end i think most of us would walk down the same road.

  • @merache psst, a million cm isn't as far as you think. In fact, it's probably a 10-15 minute car ride ;P

  • @SoullessPyre I think it is. 10k metres/6 miles is pretty far man.

  • @gerardz101 I believe average car speed off the highway is like 30mph down in the States? That's like... 12 minute car ride, XD

  • un bel ritornello

  • C'est Magnifique .... <3

  • yep..always hard to get over it. even thought the song hurts but softens the heart

  • The movie was so sad, but I loved it so much.

  • Im so gonna learn play this on Saxophone and Piano..

  • SPOILER! :'{ Why did she get married for!!

  • @3FruitsPunch SPOILER

    ...

She moved on with life, something he couldnt do. She still remembered him, she was just being more reasonable.

  • Favorite Anime Ova ... FIVE CM PER SECOND! mix emotions!

  • I see a lot of people recommending clannad after story

but was it just me or was the last non special episode kind of a major let down ?

    *(*(*( SPOILER *)*)*

The one where he finds himself 5 years back in time as if nothing happened?

    *(*(* END SPOILER *)*)*

  • Downloaded every single track on this album.

Thank you so much for sharing this piece of art.

  • very simple

    very impressive

  • This movie really touched me.

    Thanks for uploading.

  • to tell the truth i'm not really into love stories...in fact i hate it.but,u know tis anime touched my heart and it became one of my fave anime movie.if the scenes on the movie happened to me...i would be so damn sad...it'd be hard to get over it.

  • wow....

  • LOVE THIS SONG: YEA

  • 素敵な曲ですね。

  • Just as beautiful as the movie :)

  • thank you so much for uploaden the whole soundtrack!

  • Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. I've only seen this movie once, since I couldn't find it to buy it. However, I often find myself watching the trailers over and over again. Needless to say, I've cried many times. Definitely a masterpiece. If anyone knows where I could perhaps find the piano music, that would be amazing. :) Being able to play a beautiful song like this would be fantastic.

  • @DancingKiwis the dvd has been since last yr. i got a copy the first day from amazon

  • beautiful piece of music. I was wondering, would live action kill the story or make something just as beautiful?

  • @angelofdeath5302 Hmm, Live action would be a neat experience, but most anime to live action transfers have been shit. (Dragonball anyone?) I would prefer it to be just the anime atm.

  • @TheNeffykins about your live action comment, we have to add that apart from the story anime has that love that has been put into each drawing that we see on screen, plus the "actors" can look exactly like the director wants them too.

  • Can anyone recommend any other anime drama/romance films that are AT LEAST as phenomenal as this movie was? It would be greatly appreciated.

  • @2ndprodigy

Clannad ? but Clannad afther story is better

  • @rings16 I second clannad after story. (watch clannad first cz its the prequel)

  • @rings16 To tell you the truth, clannad was good and all, but there was not a kissing scene, and it wouldve been cute!!! NagisaxTomoya 4ever

  • @2ndprodigy Beside Clannad you could try Toradora or True Tears. Their both very, very good romance animé but they're not as good as 5 cm/s. But you should know even a film half as good as 5 cm/s is still a phenomenal film.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaah song the junmatsumoto no?

  • It was such a beautiful and inspiring film. I feel that even though our lives may become busy, we should always make time finding and keeping love. Its just too lonely to not be in love no matter how much passion you have in your work. Nothing beats the feeling of another heartbeat, not even the cheers and admiration of your accomplishments through life. Like everything in life, the best thing in life is always the hardest, so try your best to keep it if u have it and try your hardest to get it.

  • @Chinbodian

I'm tired of finding and keeping love, it's meaningless to me.

The girl i love only live in the past...like 5cm scene

i know i have to work like a robot everyday, that's what i can do in next decades.

  • I wish i could play this song =[ i can only do the first 2 pages

  • *sigh* it's kinda hard to see everyone's comments saying how much heartbreak hurts and i hate how that i've never been in love, so i dont know how they feel netherless how the people feel in this anime. This anime is so beautiful yet i can never truly understand how they feel until i experience love myself, i can see why people connect so much to this film. :)

  • i couldn't imagine someone would dislike this.

  • There's just something about this song and the other one (end theme/piano eyecatch) that makes me cry..

  • a masterpiece

  • Shinkai is the best...thanx for upping

  • If you like this... you should check out tenmon. Shinkai makes the movies, tenmon composes the music.

  • one word.. beautiful

  • @KeyboardOwner Beautiful is one word...

  • does anyone know the music sheet for this pls tell me

  • i thought the ending was soooooooo sad

god i hated the ending i wanted them to be together
