Congratulations for the ones who didn't kill themselves and are still here (I don't know what you'd say you didn't kill urself as a awesome topic to talk about). That's not the point. The point is that Pearl Jam took from a real tragic story a beautiful and meaningful song+video. And I'm sure Vedder didn't just make this video to get famous or money, he wanted to people take part of their actions when they make negative comments about someone they don't eve know. People just take conscience...
I hate how MTV banned playing this these things happen in real life. I love this video if you take out the main parts how is it going to make any sense? I think this video is amazing and when you edit it, it doesn't leave the same impact.

It's only offensive because it's the truth. Don't like it? Too bad.. The Bible calls killing one's self a coward. Saul killed himself, because he knew he was going to be captured by the philistines, and tortured and brutally killed. Still, he was a COWARD. Once you kill yourself, you are like before you were born, knowing ABSOLUTELY nothing!
its weird this song was written how long ago and its still happening today. i'm just waiting for the next kid to snap and columbine his school, and as sinister as it sounds or wrong as it is, i cant find my self having sympathy
although it's a sad story, I'm glad Pearl Jam made the video to expose the event. Artists today will only do what their marketing team tells them will get them big sales, and Pearl Jam took an alternate route, and it was about the music, not the money
@prcushinplaya08 although this is based on jeremy wade delles suicide, Eddie Veder only wrote the song based on a small article in the dallas newspaper he read. The song is loosely based on jeremy delles suicide and and experience eddie saw at his school with another student. to say this song gives any real details of Jeremys life would be a massive lie. Great song never the less.
uh i think that suicide is never an option and this kid had no strentgh. i mean high school life no matter how ridiculed you get is not THAT hard, i should kow im an outcast, huh and for the millions about to h8 on me, i just wanna say i h8 how like if called him fag alive its , ha ha yeah m but no he commited suicide so hes an icon now , and untouchable, blah!
You are certainly a lot stronger than he ever was. IMO, there should be made a video about you, cause your still alive! I'm sick of America giving tribute to these worthless cowards who couldn't handle their own problems. Try working 3 jobs to support 2 kids. Try having cancer, and going through chemo. High school ridicule? That's nothing compared to what other people go through everyday!!!
@TheIsraelite7777 no offense but you can't really say that, sure there are people with bigger problems in the world but it would definitely have been tough for Jeremy that's why he took such a step. After all, he was 15, lonely, depressed and we all know that he was bullied and stuff but possibly a lot could've happened which he never shared with anyone. I guess no one will ever know now
@TheIsraelite7777 they're just kids! many don't have any support or parents who give a dam. sure it's selfish and cowardly to commit suicide and in the end nothing happens "it was 3:30 in the afternoon, an affluent suburb, 64 degrees and cloudy" life went on unchanged and that's the real message in this vid kids are hurting, people don't always listen or educate them about depression and how to handle it (esp back then) and nobody told them it would be a waste to end it all till it's too late
@TheIsraelite7777 pain is pain no matter what the situation is and i know what it's like to handle depression and watch a person fight cancer and other dreadful odds, but the lonely kid still has pain that is just as painful, my point is that 3 jobs to support 2 kids and fighting cancer give no one more right to feel pain than a high school kid who feels they aren't worthy of suffering because people like you say they don't know what real pain is who are you to judge that
@TheIsraelite7777 Yeah well some of those people are happy, though. Some can actually go day by day even though its hard, some have meaning to life: Jeremy didn't. Unloved and ignored, we live for others and when that's taken away from us, we have nothing. Jeremy simply finished off the deed society had begun. Obviously, you have no clue what pain is. Psychical pain is one thing, but when it floods your mind and controls your life, makes you not able to think or breathe, another Jeremy is killed
Uhh, do you even know what i'm going through right now? How about this Jeremy kid getting addicted to pain pills, staying on them for 6 years, and then coming completely off of them. Emotions he hasn't felt in years are coming back. Every bad memory he has ever experienced is running around full blast in his mind. I wish I could go back to middle school right now and be bullied again. Mentally, i'm a wreck. But I havent thought about killing myself? 0_o
@TheIsraelite7777 Well I didn't but now I do, and yeah that's real pain but did you ever stop to think maybe Jeremy felt just as mentally "wrecked" as you do right now? Just because you were addicted to drugs as used them to cope doesn't mean you're special and deserve special treatment. I respect you for quitting, I really do, I even respect you for not giving up, but even in your position, it is no position to be hating on another person in your boat.
DONT THUMPS UP "420THECRYPTKEEPER" HES JUST A FAG LOOKING TO GET THUMPS UP! fucking shithead. using a suicide to get thumps up, FUCK YOU! R.I.P. jeremy
@scissorbutterfly I don't think you'll find much else on the subject. Actually, Jeremy was a coward because he commited suicide. It takes a real person to just deal with things and move on. Don't get me wrong I sympthize with guys who have sucky parents and are picked on. I just think they should have the balls to suck it up and keep moving. There will always be times when our parents don't pay attention to us or we're teased by others. But that's life.
Anyone who reads the above comment please don't think I'm a heartless person. When I said he was a coward all I ment was suicide is a cowardly act. and nothing is woth killing yourslf over.
I understand Jeremy was in and unimaginible ammout of pain . I understand why he did what he did. Fourtunately I have loving parents and I did well in school. I wasn't even picked on. So I never experienced anything like what Jeremy did.
First--I am glad this original vid is still extant--I know it has suffered a lot of attempts to censor (both images, themes, and the use of the "f-word." Second, we should appreciate this song for what it does instead of playing some blame game. . . .it is a provocative song with a compelling message and melody. . . . so why pick on each other. . . . ?
@scissorbutterfly Don't use the term pussy when discribing him. It sounds disrespectful. Honestly, I felt the same way untill I read the newspaper article online. Google Jeremy Delle suicide you should find it.
A while ago I made a comment about Jeremy's parents being assholes. Someone wrote me back telling me he had loving parents. Well, if his parents loved him so much why the hell did they ignore him and act as if he didn't exist. Also, I was told that it was normal for people to keep guns around the houses in Texas. if you have a child you should always conceal a weapon in a hidden location no matter which state you live in.
Anyway, If anyone reads this send me a reply. I'd like a second opinion
i used to go to the high school this happened at. i wasnt there obviously ( im fifteen ) but me and some friends always have a day of mourning on the aniversery of the suicide.

the only thing that kills me about this video is the fact that with jeremy facing the way he was when he pulled the trigger the blood splatter should have been behind him, not all over his classmates. but either way this vid/song is so amazing.
I think the blood on the rest of a class was a way of showing, in a way, the effect that it had on the rest of the class and maybe to say that "the blood was on their hands" for the way it is claimed he was treated. That's how I took it. I thought the same thing the first time a watched the video.

the only shame is that the sync is off by barely a second, but it doesn't hinder the fact that this is a powerful song and an incredible video

I watched this video for about a hundred times in these 2 days. I could listen to this song forever..
I still don't get why had they put him in ISS (In-School Suspension or something like that) That's just cruel. :(

one of the most powerful videos i have ever seen. I feel the pain Jeremy felt and it makes me sad just seeing how he acted. R.I.P. Jeremy Wade Delle

the only thing that kills me about this video is the fact that with jeremy facing the way he was when he pulled the trigger the blood splatter should have been behind him, not all over his classmates. but either way this vid/song is so amazing.

I think the blood on the rest of a class was a way of showing, in a way, the effect that it had on the rest of the class and maybe to say that "the blood was on their hands" for the way it is claimed he was treated. That's how I took it. I thought the same thing the first time a watched the video.

@kansasboy388 I agree with you.

Noticed that too, if he shot himself there wouldn't be blood on anyone else, except maybe the teacher..
Also he actually shot himself further back and slumped on the bookcase, supposedly.
