@ sensibleadult i have been advocating for an understanding in the music gap. I believe that no ones songs should be left out. We must simply preserve our apostolic identity. Besides many of the old songs were written by trinitarians who despised holiness as well. I understand your concern but there is a way to sing the new stuff and not be worldly. @ sensibleadult thank you for the info about the song i referenced as all i have ever heard sung was the chorus. Music does not go in hand with attire. We sing stuff by all those people and even my church sometimes. We make them apostolic songs though. We dress apostolic and worship apostolic when we sing them. My pastor would not allow otherwise. Ill agree Bro Dean was out of line to look and behave as he did but arguing on a public website changes nothing. Things are so different now with NAYC

All this fighting is being done in a public venue too. It makes a bad impression on the world whom we are suppossed to be reaching. There is another line in it that says," I don't care what label you may wear, If you believe in Jesus you belong with me". That means doctrine is not necessary, and we need to lay aside our differences and get along. So guess who are the only ones who end up laying something aside. Sing unto the Lord a new song! i think the bottom line of this is the MOTIVE of worship. ..i sang this song because it affirms my past life.. .and when God set me free. ..MY HEART CANNOT STAY SILENT!!! Honestly we sang that song in our last general conference and there was a great move of God during that worship service. ..and i saw dozens of souls being born again in the Spirit! When my family came to God we were in gangs drugs and other things If worship was like this we wouldnt have stuck around but when we came we felt somthing different chills ran down my body I felt the Holy Ghost I dont feel that in this Im sorry Im just being honest.

We serve an amzing and understanding God. God knows times change and music changes he knows we love all kinds of music... So as long as we are prasing him though the music it shouldn't matter how it sounds or what instruments are used. As pentecostals we must be open minded and non judgemental.. Every generation as there own outlet to prasing God... Just be thankfu these young peolple are there prasing God and not out in the streets.

I could never get into these modern songs at conferences. The preaching is always dynamic and great, but the music and worship service is more like a rock concert.
2007 was the best NAYC i have ever been to. 2009 was great but the spirit in North Carolina was the greatest i have ever seen and i am proud to say that i was at that alter lifting the Lord high. :D
Youth Congress this year was amazing. Every night the preaching got better and better. Bro. Francis blew it outta the water without question. But Shay Mann, and Wayne Huntley tore it up as well. So anyone who was there any night was abundantly blessed.
I think it would be difficult to judge a three day conference just from one song. Look at the video response to see an apostolic church. NO MUSIC, just the holy ghost!!

Amen, I was there and these were some of the best worship services I've ever been in. Watching on the web, I can see how one might get the "concert" perception, but there was so much liberty and annointing in that house, it was amazing.

Then you probably wont like heaven all that much seeing how when you get to heaven all your gonna do is bow and worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Don't push your personal convictions on others, God gave you your personal convictions to remind you of your covenant with Him. So what if their hair isnt parted to the side enough or if they are wearing colored shirts. And jumping up and down for the Lord is an action that you choose to do yourself and God will judge the spirit.
Live your life with some zeal and maybe boring Pentecost where you come, clap your hands and sing a song and walk away saying "yes another traditional service where we were normal again" will disappear. I sure hope that David parted his hair and looked all nice for the Lord before he started worshiping. The bible says shout unto the Lord with a voice of triumph. Have you ever won or been triumphant in anything? first reaction is yell and jump up and down cause your happy, not be all dignified "eh okay i won thats cool i guess".
God's given us so many victories that if we praised Him and jumped up and down for all eternity and it still wouldnt be enough. So be joyful in the Spirit and not slave to what the traditions of man have taught you is acceptable. Sometimes reading comments like this makes me think "wow did they forget that You died for them Lord?" We have to put these philosophical ideas behind us and put God and spiritual family in front of us, and in that order
You obviously weren't there. These musicians/singers were definately annointed and prepared with prayer for these services. When the Spirit of the Lord moved, they responded and were sensitive. I watched as several of them fell on their faces to worship the King and put down their microphones to dance and rejoice before the Lord. Just because the songs have changed it doesn't mean that we've left the old paths.
I have never really been much of a fan of the UPC, I thought that it was a big deal to be a minister there, and everything like that...but my church is ALJC, and its the deal...
It doesn't matter what organization we are as long the truth message is being spread. Instead of saying which one is better, the fact is UPCI, WPF, ALJC, etc., etc. is all on the same side. So why critize sistern and brothern?
i went to youth congress for the first time in 2001 in atlanta georgia. I heard the preaching from youth congress 99 and can still retain most of what was preached prior to going if the leadership that was in offices right now what you a good portion of what you saw there would not be going on . some of them wouldnt be on the plat form. Period. THATS NOT THE UPC I KNOW thats something totaly different people are right the upc is goind down hill.
It is so sad to say but I have to agree with you. This is not the youth congress that I knew or the UPCI that I grew up under and I am still young...in my 20's. Things are changing and it isn't for the better. Church services are beginning to look like concerts. I am thankful that I have pastor and church that are still old time Pentecostal...wouldn't have it any other way.
there is a TON of people that have come together in an arena.that surrounds a central stage..and there is music performed on the stage. of course it would appear like a concert. however...they are not glorifying the praise singers. they are praising and worshiping God. why is it that people can go to concerts and wild out. but one can't give God their all without anyone judging them?.

2007 was the best NAYC i have ever been to. 2009 was great but the spirit in North Carolina was the greatest i have ever seen and i am proud to say that i was at that alter lifting the Lord high. :D

Youth Congress this year was amazing. Every night the preaching got better and better. Bro. Francis blew it outta the water without question. But Shay Mann, and Wayne Huntley tore it up as well. So anyone who was there any night was abundantly blessed.

@jmarlin88 I am sorry to say I was there that year and it was my first time ever to go and I was like I am never going to go to youth congress again but I went this year and I will go again because it was 30times better than before I was like the first time I remember when me and my family went to nashville tenn and I was expecting it to be like that but it was a sad excuse in 07.

@apostolicgurlie Where not being hypocrites all were saying is this song is NOT anointed this is a trintiy song all the way I have been in youth ministry for 16 years of my 32 on this earth Ive preached in high schools and even foursqure trinity youth gatherings that got a revalation of worship these are the songs they were playing and sick of we need to wake up we cant have a form of Godliness but have no power like this.

Amen, I was there and these were some of the best worship services I've ever been in. Watching on the web, I can see how one might get the "concert" perception, but there was so much liberty and annointing in that house, it was amazing.

You remember how it was when God wood us in, he brought us out of a world making remarks and persecuting christians while praying at night and wondering if this is real? Then you probably wont like heaven all that much seeing how when you get to heaven all your gonna do is bow and worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Don't push your personal convictions on others, God gave you your personal convictions to remind you of your covenant with Him. So what if their hair isnt parted to the side enough or if they are wearing colored shirts. And jumping up and down for the Lord is an action that you choose to do yourself and God will judge the spirit.

So honestly it doesnt make sense to criticize the people in this video seeing as how you cant do God's job and it makes even less sense to think that it is your job. I sure hope that David parted his hair and looked all nice for the Lord before he started worshiping. The bible says shout unto the Lord with a voice of triumph. Have you ever won or been triumphant in anything? first reaction is yell and jump up and down cause your happy, not be all dignified "eh okay i won thats cool i guess".

God's given us so many victories that if we praised Him and jumped up and down for all eternity and it still wouldnt be enough. So be joyful in the Spirit and not slave to what the traditions of man have taught you is acceptable. Sometimes reading comments like this makes me think "wow did they forget that You died for them Lord?" We have to put these philosophical ideas behind us and put God and spiritual family in front of us, and in that order

You obviously weren't there. These musicians/singers were definately annointed and prepared with prayer for these services. When the Spirit of the Lord moved, they responded and were sensitive. I watched as several of them fell on their faces to worship the King and put down their microphones to dance and rejoice before the Lord. Just because the songs have changed it doesn't mean that we've left the old paths.

It doesn't matter what organization we are as long the truth message is being spread. Instead of saying which one is better, the fact is UPCI, WPF, ALJC, etc., etc. is all on the same side. So why critize sistern and brothern?

i went to youth congress for the first time in 2001 in atlanta georgia. I heard the preaching from youth congress 99 and can still retain most of what was preached prior to going if the leadership that was in offices right now what you a good portion of what you saw there would not be going on . some of them wouldnt be on the plat form. Period. THATS NOT THE UPC I KNOW thats something totaly different people are right the upc is goind down hill.

It is so sad to say but I have to agree with you. This is not the youth congress that I knew or the UPCI that I grew up under and I am still young...in my 20's. Things are changing and it isn't for the better. Church services are beginning to look like concerts. I am thankful that I have pastor and church that are still old time Pentecostal...wouldn't have it any other way.

there is a TON of people that have come together in an arena.that surrounds a central stage..and there is music performed on the stage. of course it would appear like a concert. however...they are not glorifying the praise singers. they are praising and worshiping God. why is it that people can go to concerts and wild out. but one can't give God their all without anyone judging them?.
