I agree, I found out about Perfume on Youtube. I'm a recent fan but from watching their videos and listening to their music on youtube I liked them even more, liked them enough to buy their new album.

On another note:

How do they think K-pop got so popular in Japan (and the rest of the world)??? It is because of youtube videos where people from other countries can easily watch them and share them. Korea doesn't have strict copyright enforcement.....yet.

YouTube（に投稿してくれたファンの動画）がプロモーショ­ンしてくれたおかげです。

徳間ジャパンのプロモーションは一切受けてません。YouTub­eを観て満足してCD・DVDを買わない人もいるかもしれません­。しかし、YouTubeに動画が無ければ買うキッカケすら生ま­れません。損することは何もないはずです。しかもあぐらかいて宣­伝はファンに無償でやらせて殿様商売する徳間はTeam Perfumeにとって敵以外のなにものでもありません。

I live in Los Angeles and I discovered Pefume on Youtube. I bought almost every album and single, and I went to Japan twice just to see them in concert (Yokohama Triangle Tour and Tokyo Dome). And I think Youtube provided almost all international fans for Perfume.

All music companies, not just Tokuma Japan, need to realize that Youtube is necessary in making a music artist popular. If you censor videos, less people will be exposed to the artist, and you will make less money.

I don't think any of us should hate Tokuma Japan. Yes, it is frustrating that they delete almost everything in sight. And I do believe this does hold Perfume back when it comes to worldwide expansion, BUT Tokuma has done very well in making Perfume well-known and successful in Japan.

I just wish they would be less strict with internet issues.

If it weren't for fans uploading Perfume videos/music on Youtube, I most likely would never have found them when I did. Those videos made me want to buy Perfume CDs. Those videos made me become the Perfume fan that I am.

If TokumaJapan loves Perfume as much as their fans do then it would serve them well (financially) to push them in the foreign market a little stronger and allow the free marketing on youtube, etc..

This has been bothering me for so long.

Tokuma has blocked one of my videos with a karaoke track ! You can copyright melody but NOT chord changes. A karaoke track is just chord changes.

I feel Tokuma does not want Perfume outside of japan. You can't join the fan club, they do not sub in English, Its because of someone uploading Perfume that I found them and look at me now !

what is even worse is that most of the songs that are produced by Yatsuka Nakata, the copyrights of those songs belong to him and Amuse, only really a few songs truly belong to TOKUMAJAPAN, like Chocolate Disco. Other than that i don't see why blocking or muting would benefit such a popular group like Perfume. I mean they want everyone to know about Perfume and yet they decide not to at the same time :? Thanks for summing up my complaints about Tokuma, and probably many other fans of Perfume. I really think this year is their year to be successful overseas and that the ways of Tokuma is making it stagnant. Even if Tokuma is going to change, its ways it's gonna take a looooong time, but I hope there is progress on that.

In a recent interview on 魁！音楽番付 they were for-told to have success in the future overseas. With that came their appearance at MAMA 2010 awards & their song making an intl cameo in Cars 2. While I feel it's leaps & bounds, the conservative ways of Tokuma prevent Perfume to reaching further. It's a shame, really. If Tokuma actually embraced technology and utilized the value of free they & Perfume could gain so much more. Funny, for a techno-pop group their label/management is stuck in the past.

Does Tokuma Japan not want Perfume to have foreign fans? The only way Perfume will come close to worldwide recognition is by the internet, and Youtube is the best way to find videos. All foreign Perfume fans discovered Perfume through the internet, mostly on Youtube. If there is not many videos, there's not as much to persuade us to becoming fans.

I believe that Perfume has the potential to do so much more, but for that to happen, Tokuma Japan needs to move forward and evolve.

Tokuma deletes the whole video(s) just because I used Perfume's songs (that are clearly not mine) for fancover dances of Perfume. Omg, you are so right! If they want Perfume to be worldwide famous, they shouldn't block these videos ... I just became a fan of them, because of their videos in youtube! They should follow SMEntertainment's example! They put all e.g. SNSD videos online and these videos are the FULL versions of their songs and not like TokumaJapan, who put a song in which lasts just 2 minutes!
