I quit my job at Staples last month. I was a cashier, I made 8 an hour. Not enough to put up with what I did. I was expected to cashier, answer the phones, (The Staples I worked at was poor and didn't have an automated system) help people on the floor. My boss was always on me to sell these "pens of the month" that was a complete rip off when you could buy a package of pens for less than the one up front. Mangers were shit, customers are rude and co workers are gossipers. Worst place to work.

i agree but disagree alot. i work at staples as an easytech to and ive been there for 4 months:

1. i started at 8 an hour

2. they dont give raies.

3.he doesnt lie, you do get talked at constantly about sales, even if your doing well for the week.

4. The ram install is a one time charge of 40- but you do by as many sticks as you need.

5. tune up+ is 10 now and does alot more then a defrag and a scan

6. price are extremely high.

we don't charge separately for the ram installs. If you get 2 sticks of ram its still 40 bucks. I mean you are paying for the knowledge. Most people that go to staples can't even wipe there own ass. So we are somewhat doing them a favor.

and the thing is i live in canada, its the same shit here, they say that the companies not giving hours, but infact i spoke with a lady who used to be an accountant for staples, she told me that the shortage of hours is fucking bullshit, its actually the managers saving hours so they can get bonus pay. also if u go to buy a pc or laptop and u dont want to purchase anything with it, speakers or usbs or warranty, the manager will tell the employee to tell u that we dont have the product

@audiocable I recently just left Staples after a year and I could not agree more with you. I was selling 100 ESP's monthly and was the 3rd top sales person for Ontario and the most I got was a high five. I never even had a formal review of my performance or anything in one years time. And let me say TSP is the biggest joke I have ever heard for a "bonus". The company treats everyone like shit because they know there are always more students out there looking for a job.

I had a stick of RAM pop loose in my laptop, and didn't notice it for like a month. Then, one day, I got curious when I heard it rattling around. Opened her up, saw her loose part, and popped it back in. BAM!

Man I love listening to this guy rant! Damn, I go to staples, mostly for non-tech stuff though like he said it was okay for. But geez, $60 to put in a couple of ram sticks?? He should make a rant on Microsoft's Xbox 360. They're cheap with everything! You have to pay an extra 60 dollars to get the rechargable battery packs and the charger. When you could just buy rechargable batteries for maybe 20 dollars? The headsets suddenly stop working after 3 - 5 months and the Xbox 360 breaks down easily. If you lose the back of the controller which holds the battery, you have to buy a brand new controller. Don't get me wrong I love 360, but Microsoft is cheap at times.
