Ive got an antique popcorn popper thats the same concept but you have to heat it on a stove and the lid has the vents and stiring blade. It taste a hell lot better than the crap from the microwave

i have the same machine!!!! I love that thing lol! This also makes really great kettle corn!! 2tbs of vegie or canola oil and 1/4 C of sugar and 1/3 C popcorn.

just heat up the oil, when its hot add the kernels, let the oil coat the kernels, pour in the sugar, and let it pop with the lid on!

@prncsse47 you have to stop it. its kinda like if you made microwave popcorn in a microwave that didnt have a fancy popcorn button- you just wait until the popping slows down to 1-2 per second, then turn it off and take it off the heat so it doesnt burn :)

Wow.. looks like the machine takes forever to pop all of them.. then again I have a similar one I bought at Target a few years back in the shape of astronaut  headgear and it also takes about 4 minutes or so to pop all of them.. but I agree with you that popcorn tastes much better when made with oil on a machine than microwaved.

you guys know you can make popcorn on the stove, right? haha no need for a fancy machine, just put some oil in a pot or pan and put some popcorn kernals in the pot and cover the pan then let it do its thang. then melt some butter and put it on and bam! you have some (muuuch yummier than microwave) popcorn! :]

I like it better because its less things to wash (really only the top bowl and wipe down the heated bottom, as opposed to a pan, lid, and bowl) and has an easier way to vent steam. also this was my first time using this and there was MUCH MUCH less burned pieces than when i do it on the stove lol

Orville makes one of these. The top is more domed, but still has the lid that makes it so you can flip it and use it as a bowl. It is SO EASY to clean. Love it.

@HeavenlyMakeUp omg SOOO easy!! honestly all you have to clean is the clear top (which you use as a bowl, so like I said its a 2 for 1 kinda thing, which I LOVE) and then wipe down the black bottom where the heat comes from. i think its way easier to clean than a huge pot and lid and another bowl like how it is when you do it on the stove haha

My favorite way to eat popcorn is to sprinkle Trechas Chile Powder (you can get it at any HEB or Fiesta Grocery store in Texas) and lime juice on top. It's supposed to be for fruits and vegetables, but it's so yummy on popcorn. I think I'll go make some right now.

@cinderellasCurse two reasons- one, there really isnt any room for one in our kitchen. and two, honestly we haven't had one in the 11 months we have lived here and I can count only a handful of times that i wished I had one, and mainly it was dumb crap like to melt butter faster or something lol. I think food tastes SO much better reheated in a toaster oven then a microwave (microwave makes food soggy!) and I honestly dont really miss it at all. :)

Yeahhhh. Definitely need that machine. My son is obsessed with popcorn and microwave popcorn is SO DISGUSTING. We make it on the stove in a dutch oven type of pot, but that's such a pain in the ass. I love everything Cuisinart makes. How did I not know about this before now? LOL
