Unless it's the Erdogan or Alligator models, the KA-50 is inferior to the Apache. The other KA-50 models rely on a single pilot. That means he has to fly and target and fire weapons. The Apache relies on a two man crew. One person who is solely responsible for flying and the co-pilot/gunner. It allows for an easier time managing the combat siutations. The pilot need only worry about flying, relying on the fact that gunner is 100% focused on target acquisition.

@Waffen9999 You are totaly wrong. The Ka-50 is not inferior to Apache. The single pilot has lot of stabiliziced weapons the 30mm canon can be Fired during 350km/h flying the missile is an fire and forgot system can be fired during high speed flying. This machine with his heavy and powerfull armament is realy easy to control. It needs about 20 minutes to know how to use the weapons systems without knowledge about helicopters. Single seater are very good for the reactions of pilots.they dont need

Nice equipment is one thing, but one factor that should never be forgotten are the pilots. A veteran Apache pilot will probably have no problems with totally fucking up a Ka-50 piloted by a rookie. Same story if the Apache pilot is a rookie, and the Kamov pilot a vet. But this concerns almost everything in the army, experience counts just as much as equipment when the shit really hits the fan.

But I dearly hope we never get an answer to this question, cuz that would mean WWII or a 2nd Cold war

I have different views. Why? digital battlefield. One blip on the AWACS monitor confirming an airborne hostile aircraft, i.e. Ka50, a wing of F18s will immediately launches. Remember both Hokum or US Apaches are ground support, in which only when the air-superiority achieved then the attack helos are airborne.

The smaller barrels like Mi28 or Apache can only fire 2km ranges. The Armor of KA50 is titanic alloy its the most armored helicopter nowdays known. It use the same armor like the Su-25 cockpit The flying Tank. and its the safest Helicopter on earth it has ejection seats. The Apache is inferior to Russian Helicopters its not close to them

@Talshet Wow, you are indeed one funny person.  You have any idea the stats they've posted about the problems a single pilot has functioning in a combat type situation? Firing, flying, all while under attack is a serious drain on someone's mental aptitutdes. Never mind I wasn't talking about the combat capabilities of the chopper which are adequate. I was referring extensively and only to the inferior design of a single pilot system, which is shown to be inadequate for a gunship.

In battle situation the primary function is to operate as target assignation. The avionic systems like the optronic are better than usual helicopters Mi-24,Mi-28 and AH64.The optronic system are proven to x30times it can reach targets at 4,5km maximum no Apache can reach this range. And the single seat concept is not inferior.Military studies showed single operating

@Waffen9999 Warst du pfeife jemals in einer Armee? Ich glaube nicht wenn du mal in der FMI (FlugmedizinischesInstitut) wärst wüsstest du was die dort untersuchen. Es ist bewiesen das Elite Soldaten, wenn sie auf sich alleine gestellt sind Intuitiv denken und handeln. Die Reaktionszeit ist sehr viel schneller als bei Soldaten die in der Truppe cooperieren, auch bei Piloten. Geh erst mal in eine Armee und bild dich mal auf diesem Gebiet und sammle mal selber Erfahrungen als Soldat.

The Apache still gets in close, for that is the role of a gunship, Close air support, and although they can fire from a long way away, they are still closely involved in battles. The Kamov Ka 50 can do what the Apache does, but better. It is more manouverable, protected, and armed, which would give you an advantage over the Apache. Plus it has a higher survival rate due to its ejector seat system.

"6 km" (3:58) . Not true, Vikhr atgm (Ka-50"s main anti-tank weapon) max range is 8 km. In 2003 Ka-52 end test flight's wiht new atgm - HERMES-A. Max range for "air" version of Hermes is 25 km.

This is the real thing not the Apache........ Still I don't get why the Russians want to opt for the Mil-28 over this baby............... I can understand that this is a very complex and maintenance-demanding system but then again, it offers just so much..... And the co-axial rotor design it uses can easily shame the best of the conventional helis.....

What they don't tell you about the Apache is that in 2006 they concluded (after a failed deep strike mission) that the Apache lacked sufficient armour to resist (wait for it) RIFLE CALIBRE ROUNDS! LMAO!

Another thing they don't tell you about the Apache is that if you fly it wrong then you smack the rotor blades into the nose of the Apache.

That lack of armour was probably a big problem around the Apaches rear rotor. KA50 has NO rear rotor.

@habjanic7 No it is not... i might be very maneuverable and fast but when it comes to technology and targeting the AH-64 is much better. Why dodge bullets and get very close to the targets when you can just stand back and let the rockets fly.
