Several Mosques were erected in places of great importance to a country after the country had been taken over. One thing about a Mosque being built on near the site is that it can be considered highly offensive because Mosque's are usually built after a country has been "dominated" or "taken over". Several Mosques were erected in places of great importance to a country after the country had been taken over. So to some, it would be a slap in the face, because it would show that America was "defeated", "dominated" and/or "taken over" on the day of this terrible tragedy.
