There was a musician's strike in Hollywood in mid-1958, and the studio was forced to use cues from Capitol's "Hi-Q" production music library {complied by John Seely} for at least six cartoons...cues which were also used in various Hanna-Barbera TV cartoons, "GUMBY", and other projects needing "canned music". A variation of the John Seely-William Loose cue used under the opening title became the "DENNIS THE MENACE" theme in 1959.

Anyone notice that the music in this cartoon sounds a lot like the music in Dennis the Menace?

That cue (I call it the "pitter-patter" cue) was usually used whenever Dennis was running through the front door and up or down the stairs.
