I have hooded eyes, but this look won't look good on me.It will just make the flat space i have between my lashline and my eyebrow even flatter and bigger. This may look good on monolids but i don't know about medium/reasonably hooded eyes! What i absolutely have to do is blend my eyeshadow ALL the way up VERY close to my browbone. This creates much more depth to the eye and makes all that flat area recede! Try it!!

This was incredible helpful! Although i'm a fair skinned blonde with blue eyes its hard to find makeup tutorials that don't have incredibly heavy makeup requirements. This seems just light enough to adjust to my hooded eyes. Thankyou!

Would you say your eyes are hooded or semi-hooded? My eyelids are similar to yours; I think mine are (semi?)hooded because I do tend to make a crease above my crease and use light and shimmery colors on my lids to make them more visible. I know I don't have mono lids. I'm just wondering if I should just follow tips for hooded eyes.

Hi Sam! I've been waiting for this tutorial forever, so thanks. I have hooded eyes that don't allow me to do a flick at the end because the lid is so heavy on them. Tons of mascara and end Piece lashes have been my holy Grail. I don't have the patience for individual lashes... Haha! Anyway, when done right this look you recreated CAN make even droopy eyes look open and awake. And on days when I dont want to deal with any of it, a super bright lip works as distraction. ;) happy holidays!!! -3

I love this! Thank you for posting this! While I love my eyes, my eyelids are the worst! My left eye/eyelid is great, eyeshadow goes on great. But my right eye/eyelid is the bad seed. I have a slight hooded lid and my eye droops down more than my left. So it's a pain trying to get my eyeshadow to match... I usually end up having too much on my right lid.

@rowmosapien I hope you don't mind me responding but I have hooded eyes too and I find that you have to blend right above your crease in order to see the shadow better. You'll have to test how high you can take the shadow before it becomes too much. Sometimes I also take a light brown shadow and blend it into my crease and above (with eyes open) as a guide to see where my smokey eye shadow should finish. I hope this helps a bit :)

Interesting tutorial, but I have impression there's a bit missing at about 10:10? Lower eyelid looks then darker and there was only mascara applied at that time...

I have really oily lids and makeup just doesn't want to stick there. Primers that I've tried (eg. Urban Decay primer potion) don't really make a difference on that but then I bought a MAC paint pot and that is AMAZING! The eyeshadow really doesn't move at all and looks way better. I really recommend a neutral coloured paint pot if eyeshadow primers don't work for you :)
